Tivo Adapter - adapter, netgear

I bought the Netgear USB wireless G adapter to enable me to network my Tivo Series 2 and take advantage of its home media capabilities. I could not be happier with the Netgear's performance. Once my Tivo had downloaded new firmware (its software version 7 is required), I simply plugged the Netgear into the USB slot. Boo-bam, worked like a charm. No configuring, no dropped signals. Good throughput. I am using a Belkin Pre-N wireless router. I was a little leery of USB wireless adapters, but the Netgear worked perfectly with no configuration. NETGEAR WG111 Wireless USB 2.0 Adapter (54 Mbps)

I bought my unit used on eBay about a year ago, so I don't know how old this really is. It's been working great, no drops. It works a little hot though.

Tip: If you have Windows XP, just install the provided software, then disable it and let Windows handle the connection. If you do this, you will never have to worry about connection drops or buggy software. Just plug it in and use it.

I purchased this product along with the netgear wireless router with 4 ethernet ports, Plugged them both in and worked great from the beginning, Followed the usb 2.0 adapter suggestions to install the cd first and to let the wireless assistant control its connection. Immediately they connected and i was on the internet in seconds.

A few weeks later father noticed that we had other persons on our wireless connection so i put in security. And again no loss in connection or speed. I keep my computer on for days at a time and the adapter gets hot but its still going strong. A wonderful piece of technology, I am thinking about upgrading to the Super G or Pre N in the near future if price permits. :)

Oh yes forgot to mention that the initial setup allowed me internet access from behind two concrete walls at a distance of 75ft and a constant signal of 48mbps. Hope this was helpful

I have a VERY nice, expensive Netgear WG302 wireless access point. Using this adapter on W2K to talk to it if any sort of encryption is enabled it will drop the connection once every 5 seconds. I updated the firmware on the AP and downloaded newer drivers for the WG111 and it improved to only dropping once every two minutes. Signal strength is greater than 80%, so it's not that, and I have other wireless devices much further away from the AP that work fine.

You would think that it would work with their own hardware...

Don't get this adapter unless you are:

A: In an airconditioned room, and

B: Plan on using no operating system beyond Windows XP, and

C: Enjoy talking to brick walls for customer support.

I live in Australia. It is summer, and it is hot. And if being hot and sweaty isn't enough, my shiny new wireless adapter keeps dropping out every time I try to load a page. This makes me angry. This is purely a heat issue, having a fan blasting at it seems to solve the problem, but a well engineered device shouldn't NEED that.

I am also an IT student. I like the idea of experimenting with different operating systems. Like Windows XP x64 edition. And Linux. I dare anyone to get a straight answer out of Netgear Customer Support as to whether they plan to produce 64-bit drivers. Their solution is to cover their eyes and pretend the future doesn't exist.

My solution: cover your eyes and pretend Netgear doesn't exist. If you want a truly robust solution, buy a wireless bridge/client/access point. There is nothing to install internally or even any software to install, and they offer much more flexibility. I'm just frustrated I didn't do any research. I THOUGHT Netgear was a reputable company. How wrong I was.

Although I am very happy with the other NetGear products I own I have to say that this adapter is a waste of money. It's easy to set up (I'm running Windows 2000) and starts working at first, but after less than a half hour, it flickers out and stops working entirely.

I have a NetGear router and laptops using NetGear PCI wireless cards which work well, but this product is a dog. I second one of the earlier reviewers who mentioned how hot the item gets after a short time in use. My guess is that it has a design flaw that causes it to overheat and stop working. They should really go back to the drawing board on this one.

It was a little tricky to get it to work. Because, the first time I (unknowingly) was picking up a wrong signal. When I called Netgear, they were helpful (although I had difficulty understanding them, they are in India.) A couple of months ago after a bad rainstorm I completely lost my connection. I called Netgear, but they told me the problem was with my router. So I called Linksys and they told me that I needed to set up a new network. Apparently they claimed that it was "erased" and my connection from the router to my adapter was lost permanently. But they (Linksys) walked me through the steps; they were helpful but also in India so it was again challenging to understand them. Since I got my new network set up I have had no problem getting online and keeping a connection. Other reviews state that their adapter cannot keep a connection for very long. Of course, I'm not a computer expert, but that sounds like either a manufacturer's defect or maybe the adapter or router isn't configured correctlt? - Adapter - 80211g - Wg111 - Netgear'

Streaming Video - netflix, streaming video

I was pleasantly surprised with the LG BD630! You get a whole LOT for the money! I am going to try and pick this thing apart somewhat in this review , so if you are interested then Read On Mc Duff!

I purchased this unit for my 81 year old father who has taken to watching Xvid and MKV files from the internet, usually documentaries on WW2 and other history programs. Of course he also watches DVD's but has not until now delved into Blu Ray or Netflix streaming. I needed something for him that had a very easy to follow menu system and worked WELL with a minimum of glitches.

The player itself is very basic on the outside. The BD630 features an on/off , eject, play/pause and stop buttons on it's face and a USB slot covered with a little rubber trap door on the right hand side with the disc drawer in the middle. It doesn't exactly exude high build quality on first glance, but what makes this little player SO good is the software inside. (more on that very soon) Mind you, it isn't totally cheap looking and as the saying goes good things can and DO come in small packages.

This is a very small (not very deep) unit and also a very lightweight one. It came packed with a decent PRINTED manual , basic cabling (you will need an HDMI or Component cable) and a functional remote that uses only 1 AAA cell, also included. It comes with a couple of printed adverts for Netflix and even a small sticker on the top of the unit that screams NETFLIX at you. (easily removed) The power cable is attached. You get composite video out, stereo RCA audio outs , Component Video and HDMI Out , a Coax Digital Audio out and a LAN port for connecting to your home network if you wish to use the Netcast features such as Netflix and You Tube.

Being at the low end of the LG food-chain, this particular player is NOT DLNA enabled and to play your video files (other than blu ray and DVD) you must stream from a USB device be it a thumb drive or external hard drive. You can not connect this unit via the Ethernet connection to your computer. LG starts including THAT feature a few more models UP from this one. I guess that is understandable given the price point.

The connectivity is very good really, you can use this device with everything from an analogue standard TV all the way up to 1080p HDTV and your audio options are just as good with the analogue stereo outs, or the Coax digital which can handle up to 5.1 Dolby Digital or DTS and the HDMI which can pass thru the uncompressed Dolby TruHD or DTS Master Audio tracks that accompany much of the blu ray releases. You can set the Video output to match your TV resolution, set picture aspect ratio to play 4:3 programs as is or to stretch them to fill your screen. The USB port can be used to connect a USB thumb drive or even an external hard drive. It isn't too picky about the formatting of the drive and can also support up to 4 drive partitions. That alone is amazing for the price and a nice touch.

This brings me to my first and only MAJOR complaint about this machine. It is SO lightweight than when you plug in your USB drive or cable to it, the unit itself tends to push backwards. Perhaps adding some non slip little rubber feet to the bottom with a couple drops of super glue would easily solve that.

Just be aware that if you are not careful, you run the risk of knocking the thing over when accessing that feature. Note: To access any BD Live features you may wish to download and view, a USB drive is required as there apparently is minimal onboard memory. I personally disable BD Live on every machine I have as this tends to slow loading times.

Set up took less than two minutes after connections were made. The machine boots quickly. Easily as quickly as my Oppo BDP-80. Things got VERY interesting when I loaded a Java heavy Blu Ray disc and it loaded VERY quickly. I can honestly say this machine loads a Blu Ray disc FASTER than my Oppo (a nice fast machine) and that blew me away just to see it happen. Playback was as expected. GREAT! DVD up-conversion to 1080p was average for a new machine today, but better than average for machines only a year or so old. And the disc tray itself is solid and goes in and out without any sort of loud rattle of worrisome grinding noises. (a complaint for some Oppo BDP-80 and 83 users)

The Netflix GUI is about the same as on the current crop of LG TV's. Your performance is going to depend more on your internet connection and speed than the LG software which in my opinion is very good. Navigating my Instant Queue was a bit sluggish but I have the same problem on ANY of my Netflix enabled devices. Once you start playback and it loads, things work just the way you would expect and want them to.

It is noteworthy to mention I had NO problems at all playing DVD-R and CD-R discs. Discs containing Xvid and other video file types also loaded quickly and played perfectly. Just for fun I put in a region free Pal disc and it spit it back out with an on screen message telling me it was the wrong region. (I had to try) So basically, this thing will play ANYTHING I or my Dad owns EXCEPT for Pal. OH well, you can't have everything!

Basically, it works and works well. You can update the firmware via the LAN port or by downloading from the LG site and burning a disc or putting it on a USB drive which is what I did before attempting to play anything. Time will tell if LG continues to support this machine with further firmware updates as they become needed to play some of the more Java intensive titles such as the new Alien discs. If updating firmware intimidates you, find someone you know who is an old hand at it and let THEM do it so you don't accidentally 'brick' your player. Really, it isn't that difficult. (just don't turn the machine off while updating)

I personally own an LG 47 inch LE 5400 television and as expected the software in the BD630 is almost identical for playing computer files, mp3's looking at photos, etc. IN some aspects , they have improved the software and I was duly impressed. It is smooth, easy to see what you are doing with logically laid out screens , easy to identify the individual file names and the transport controls are solid and responsive when playing everything from an Xvid to a 720p or 1080i Mkv file. We didn't have any 1080p files to test so I can only speak for the others. They all loaded reasonable fast and played glitch free. Pause and resume worked perfectly. You can access the info screen while playing the file. Audio synch was a non issue. Basically this is everything a person could want in local media file playback. (6-7-11 EXCEPT playing Divx files, see my update below) Try as I could, I encountered NO glitches of any type other than having to set our Harmony remote response time to shorter as it was giving double commands for the left and right direction buttons.

Just the local media file playing ability of this unit alone is worth the purchase price. Add THAT with great Blu Ray playback, VERY fast loading times (depends on the Blu Ray title as some discs will load quicker than others) more than decent DVD up-conversion , Netflix streaming and much more and I think LG has a winner at a price point you just can't argue with. I remember just a few years ago Sony was selling their flagship Blu Ray Player for 999.00 and it didn't do 25% of what THIS machine can do. Good stuff and a FULL one year warranty for Parts AND Labor!

Oh yeah, my 81 year old father is having NO trouble making this thing work at all. I just caught him playing a HD video file that he had loaded himself and I thought to myself "now THAT is user friendly" !! If I run into any future problems or software glitches with this thing I will update this review and add whatever else I have learned.

UPDATE 5-13-11 The LG is still going strong. We have yet to run into any file that will not play and unlike some reviewers have not experienced any player malfunctions with standard DVD playback including my Lord of The Rings extended editions. NO freezes, disc jams or failure to loads encountered so far. I still stand by my earlier statement regarding the Blu Ray disc load times. They ARE faster than my Oppo BDP-80 which is pretty fast to begin with.

IMPORTANT UPDATE 6-7-11 I found out the hard way last night that this player does NOT support any Divx files. I should have read the spec sheet more carefully as they do not list Divx as a supported codec. SO if you want to play any Divx encoded files you will need to 'trans-code' them using a program like Handbrake (freeware) and change it into a codec the player DOES recognize. I was surprised to find this out as my LG HDTV WILL PLAY files with the Divx file extension. Go figure! SO FAR this is the ONLY type of video file I have run into that will not play. (Apparently LG didn't want to pay the licensing fee to Divx) LG BD630 Network Blu-ray Disc Player - Netflix - Blu-ray Disc Players - Lg - Streaming Video'

Mousepads - mouse pads, mouse mat

It's made of cloth and like the others have said it really does smell pretty horrible. Don't buy it... I bought new mouse feet and it feels very harsh on it. The smell sticks to your hands and at a certain point you will think "what the hell am I breathing?" HandStands Super Mouse Pad (15S07)

I read another review saying it stinks. Mine had a bad smell too. I washed it a couple times and tried carpet odor killer but couldn't get rid of the smell. I'm trying to live with the smell but may end up throwing it in the trash.

pros: it lays there, it doesn't roll up on it's own... the package made it not get bent in shipping, good size.

cons: it didn't make me lose weight, become more attractive, or make my girlfriend hump me...:(.....

This mouse mat smells like gasoline - it smells AWFUL and the three people sitting around me at work immediately noticed it. I had to set it far away from my desk and air it out for three weeks before I could tolerate being around it - and I'm not a super-sensitive person either.

Now that the stink has subsided, I've started using it and find the surface to be much rougher than my old mouse pad, so that's not enjoyable either. Lastly, the pad itself is relatively thin -- it's not a thick, cushy mouse pad like others you might have tried. This is bare-bones at best.

If you desperately need a large mouse pad and can wait three weeks for the terrible smell to go away, it will do, but I'd honestly recommend spending more on a higher-quality pad.

This is exactly what I've wanted.

a HUGE mouse pad.

I have bought 2 (both black) and I love them both.

They came in huge oversized boxes and great packaging.

You never run out of mouse-pad-area while you're gaming, photoshopping,

brosing, etc!

I have dual screen monitors and use photoshop frequently.

This mousepad is perfect.

As for the chemical smell,

yes. it smells.

it will last quite a bit...

even febreze or any of the sort won't do it.

but it eventually goes away.... - Mousepad - Mouse Pads - Mouse Mat - Computer Accessories'

Educational Games - educational games, dry erase

My son used this sheet in his dorm room. He likes using a white board for math problems. This one worked since he couldn't hang a traditional board on his dorm wall.

It came off the wall very easily at the end of the school year. Only problem is it may not be re-usable.

Would purchase again for the same purpose. Gowrite Dry Erase Sheets, 8.5 X 11 Inches, White, 5 Sheets (AS8511)

These sheets are genius. I've placed it on the back of a notebook to provide an easily accessible dry erase surface when I'm in a meeting and trying to brainstorm. I've made lightweight dry erase boards to put in my briefcase by placing these on mounting boards and trimming to a custom size.

If you've read The Back of the Napkin (Expanded Edition): Solving Problems and Selling Ideas with Pictures, these sheets provide a great tool for meetings and presentations.

The actual surface is just as good as any regular dry erase board and can be placed on numerous surfaces. Seriously, I really love this product.

I bought this product to use in my classroom. THe sheets hang on the wall outside my classroom and I use them to let the kids know what is happening that day before they come in. The paper erases well and doesnt leave marks behind. I also like how it had adhesive on the back so they just stick right up. I will plan to buy new ones next year.

I bought these for my boyfriend in college but since there are 5 in the pack I kept a couple.

They stick well to walls, fridges etc and they leave absolutely no residue.

The actual sheets act like any other dry erase board, and can be written on using any dry erase pen. They are easy to wipe off so long as you are careful to wipe inwards so you wont stain the wall.

They can also be printed to make calendars, for instance.

All in all these sheets are a great solution if you need a dry erase board but you cant/dont want to hang it on the wall. They can be stuck side by side to make a bigger surface to suit your needs.

These are a lot cheaper than small white boards. Sticking them to posterboard is just enough to have something solid to write on. Since posterboard and whiteboard markers are supplied by the school, this is an economical way to quickly quiz students or use for a review.

These Gowrite Dry Erase Sheets offer numerous benefits that I really appreciate and enjoy. They are a perfect size, 8.5 x 11, the perfect weight, and they are pliable yet sturdy. If that wasn't enough--they also have an adhesive backing!

The dry erase board was invented for sharing information in an on-going and changing environment. Whenever I owned a business, and I have owned several, I would have a board in almost every room. Once I even had a massive wall-sized dry erase board mounted in the conference room. For many years, my home office and kitchen have always had dry erase boards mounted on walls, refrigerators and filing cabinets. I cannot seem to get enough of dry erase surfaces.

I am now retired, but my need for erasable writing surfaces has not decreased. In addition to the ever present To Do Lists and Shopping Lists, I still like to play with ideas and concepts. Mental gymnastics, if you will. All this leads to making notes and drawings, which invariably are changed. What begins as one page in a notebook becomes many marked up and scratched out, hard to read pages.

At home, no problem, I could just use my medium and large dry erase boards. But, on a trip or even out-and-about in town, I end up making notes on napkins, take out bags, backs of business cards, you name it. I have sometimes wondered why someone doesn't come up with a dry erase board that is small and portable. These 8.5 X 11" sheets are The Answer! They are the perfect size and thickness to put in a 3-ring binder (I use a 3-hole punch or put them in plastic sheet protectors.) They are also sturdy enough to put into my computer bag for road trips.

My refrigerator is now filled with these useful and practical sheets. I have learned to keep the magnetic calendars businesses give out so I can cut my dry erase sheets to fit, enabling me to make them magnetic. The sticky backs are quite sticky and always stay attached without any fuss, wrinkles or other potential problems. I move these dry erase sheets around to mix n' match and organize my thoughts and projects. Now that I have these, I no longer use my larger, more rigid dry erase boards....I am even thinking of giving them to the local Goodwill.

I hope that at some point these small dry erase sheets will come with a magnetic backing. You can buy magnetic dry erase rolls, but they only come in massive amounts.

I give this product 5 stars for its quality, functionality, and convenience. If I could, I would Gowrite an extra star for their ingenuity.

This stuf is great!!!! If what you need is the size of the paper or less this it the right stuff.

Easy to cut, adheres well and fun to work with!!

You could even use the sheets right out of the box if you applications would warrent.

Great!

These things can be used for just about ANYTHING!! I bought a few with the intentions of putting them in my dorm room, and I ended up using them all over my house! We put them on the refrigerator, walls, and I even cut them out to put on some door hangers for my roommates! I would buy the bigger pack because once you get them, you're addicted! - White Board - Educational Games - Dry Erase'

Camera Accessories - remote control, digital camera accessory

This remote uses a small infrared transmitter to trip the shutter of many of the EOS line of cameras (EOS 10, Elan, Elan II/IIE, EOS IX and possibly others). I bought one 5 or 6 years ago and I haven't had to change the battery yet. Unlike wired remote shutter releases, the RC1 doesn't require the user to set anything up -- just point the remote at the camera front and press the button. The RC1 clips onto a holder that can be threaded through your camera strap so it's always nearby when needed. It measures (inches) 2.25 x 1 x .5 (length x width x height) and weighs not much more than one ounce. The RC1 as two controls on it: a small slider switch and a larger button to trip the shutter. If you're wearing gloves, the slider switch is near impossible to adjust but the shutter button is easy to hit. The slider offers three settings: Lock (disables the shutter button), regular and 2-second delay. The regular setting works just like the shutter release on your camera although you can't press it halfway to autofocus. The 2-second delay locks up the mirror when you hit the shutter button and then trips the shutter 2 seconds later. This is very useful for longer exposures or shooting with telephoto lenses.I've found the RC1 to be plenty sturdy (I shoot mostly outdoors and tend to be pretty hard on my equipment) and easy enough to unclip and operate with one hand. I have only two complaints with it: you need to point the remote at the front of the camera -- the IR sensor is right next to the shutter release -- which can be tricky when using wide angle lenses as you don't want to include your remote in the picture, and the RC1 doesn't provide any feedback that the shutter had been tripped -- I often find myself peering back through the viewfinder to see if the mirror is up or keeping my ear near the camera to listen for the film advance. This is a far simpler remote than the ones Canon offers for their top-end camera but it's also far less expensive and heavy. I only wish the RC1 worked for the EOS3! Canon Wireless Remote Control RC1 for Canon XT/XTi, XSi, and T1i Digital SLR Cameras

I decided to get this after buying the Rebel XTi and already owning the Rebel XT (this works with both.) I already had the corded shutter release which was nice when doing long exposures or macro work where even a little camera shake can make a huge difference. But this goes to a new level, you can set the camera up get everything in focus and then step back and take as many shots as you want without any risk of touching the camera. Make sure to cover the eyepiece when using this so stray light doesn't ruin your exposure. This is also handy when you want to take pictures with you in them. I have even used it with two cameras at once to get multiple angles of the same shot. I am thinking about setting up a blind and setting up the camera on a tripod to try to get some close up pictures of wildlife that would not be possible otherwise. Basically if you ever have a need to take pictures without holding the camera this is your solution.

I received this product a day ago and am happy with it. It's simple and reliably does what it's supposed to do. I bought it primarily for 'bulb' exposures [with my D-Rebel], but, of course, it is also useful when you want to avoid camera shake or to get yourself into the shot.As others have noted, it is extremely light (15g) and tiny. Those reasons are why I picked this remote over the RC-5 and RS-60E3. Also, there is a camera strap clip included, so it will be quickly available. Canon is even kind enough to include batteries. This is definitely the one to buy.

Grabbing one of these for myself, since I found my camera on the list, at the canon site. Here's the list, if it is of help to anyone. Or you can visit the canon site, find your camera and check the accessories list:

Pros:

It really is wireless

Can be set to take the photo immediately or timed

It's small and includes a neck strap cover to attach to camera's neck strap

I have heard this remote will work with the new Canon 5D Mark II (Will keep you posted when I find out)

Cons:

Range is pretty short, you must be close

Must be in front of camera to use

Must point at camera to use

Must set camera to timer mode to use (Note remote can release shutter immediately)

Must wakeup camera manually before you can use

Can change the exposure slightly in dark or night shots

Mirror lockup mode will not work with remote!

It works but...

It works but I really have a problem with the several different unanticipated things that happen when you use it. Please note all use of this remote testing and use was on a Canon Digital Rebel XTi camera using the included 18-55mm kit lens and a Canon 70-200mm 2.8 Lens on a tripod in RAW mode at ISO 100 your results may vary.

Overview:

I bought this remote to trip the shutter while taking photos of birds at my bird feeder without being next to the camera and to trip the shutter when shooting fireworks and taking Astrophotography (photos of the night sky, moon and stars etc.) Having to be in front of the camera to take a photo is one of the biggest problems I have. I BOUGHT this so I could be behind the camera and away from the birds so I would not scare them. Why didn't Canon put a sensor on the back of the camera?? Or make this a radio controlled sensor?

Self-timer mode to use:

The other problem is having to put the camera in timer mode to use it. After you put the camera in timer mode and you are using the remote on immediate exposure mode it will indeed take the photo when you press the button. HOWEVER, if you are in the timer mode and you happen to be up next to the camera and see a bird at the feeder and press the camera's shutter button you will rudely find that the camera is in timer mode and will not take the photo for 10 seconds! You have to use the remote to get an immediate exposure.

Sleep mode:

Also, if you wait too long to take the shot, the camera will go back into sleep mode. Guess WHAT? You can't wake up the camera using the remote. You have to walk up to the camera, scare all the birds away press the cameras shutter button to wake up the camera then the remote is active again.

Use a mirror:

I did find a round about way to take exposures of the birds from behind the camera by propping a mirror up in front of the camera and aimed back at the camera. The remote signal would bounce off the mirror and back and the camera and work.

Low Light Astrophotography etc:

Another problem is photography in low light conditions. The exposure is OK in bright light, but, when using the remote in the dark while the camera is on a tripod I have found the illumination from the remote is bright enough to affect the camera meter and therefore underexpose what you are taking a photo of when shooting Astrophotography etc.. Therefore I am going to have to either return this wireless remote and purchase the wired remote or keep this remote for self portraits and also buy a wired remote. Please note you can't see the light from the remote but the camera's meter must be able to.

Self portraits:

I thought this was were the little remote would shine, but guess what? You have to point the stupid thing at the camera for it to work!! You look a little weird in a self portrait holding this little remote in your hand and trying to point it at the camera without being conspicuous. I think it's actually better to use the camera's built in timer.

Low light photography exposure:

I thought I could use this remote to trigger my photos when I use the mirror lockup function so the camera would not shake. Guess what?? The mirror lockup mode does not work when using the REMOTE! When you trigger the camera using the remote it takes a photo normally with the exposure happening immediately after the mirror goes up causing the image to blur anyway.

10-24-2008 Update:

I have a new Canon 5D Mark II on order and I heard that it can use this remote. That probably means that the new 60D when it comes out will be able to use this remote. Will let you know when I get the 5D Mark II if this is so. - Digital Camera Accessory - Canon - Photography - Remote Control'

Multifunction Printer - canon, canon ink

I am very pleased with the quality and results using this particular photo paper.

I have used this paper consistently over the last 5+ years and have always had good quality printed pictures. I have used it with both a Canon 7-color photo printer as well as a 4-color all-in-one.

There was a shipping mix up and the product was in limbo. In the meantime, I bought from anothe vendor. Once the mixup was corrected the product was delivered. I had been in communication with the vendor and they said I should refuse delivery. I did just that and waited for my refund. Three weeks later, my account was credited for the purchase price. Interior Accessories - power inverters, car adapter

I bought this item a few months ago and I love it. Provides enough power to run my laptop and GPS at the same time (I have my GPS hooked up to the USB port and laptop hooked up to the AC port). I Have had no problem with it whatsoever. I would highly recommend it. Duracell 813-0291-07 175 Watt DC to AC Pocket Power Source Inverter

I bought this little gem a few weeks ago. I travel extensively with a travel trailer, and when my partner is driving, I like to be on my 17" MacBook Pro. I allowed my battery to drain to 50%, then plugged into the Duracell 175. Initially, the inverter kept cycling on and off. I strung my MackBook cable over the sun visor so the inverter was hanging in front of the air conditioner vent. It stopped cycling on and off, and it completely recharged my battery while using the MacBook. The following day, I put a few strips of Velcro on the back of the inverter, careful to not cover the cooling vent, a few of the opposite velcro strips on the side of an air conditioner vent and wa-la. This little unit has no problem keeping up with using the MacBook Pro, and charging the battery at the same time. I'm totally delighted with this unit, and you can't beat the price.

I just completed a 4500 mile road trip, and we used this invertor many hours each day to power a laptop running DVD movies for the kids (and their parents!). Operation was flawless: The unit doesn't get too hot, it's quiet, and supplied plenty of power.

My only negative comment would be about the power button and power indicator light. The button could be more prominently marked and the light could be brighter; after all, this is made to be used in a car, where lighting is never ideal. Overall, though, the quality is excellent, especially compared to some other units that I looked at which appeared to have been made in someone's garage.

I haven't used this much yet. In fact I just used it once for about an hour, but worked perfectly for my Dell Inspiron E1505 Laptop. It got warm but not burning hot. It didn't make any discernaable noise that I can recall. Feels compact and solid in your hand. Small enough to keep in my laptop bag (although I'm starting to create a small electronics and accessories store in there). Please note that the picture is deceiving. It looks like the power cord is extremely short, which concerned me regarding placement of the item while in use. It is in fact plenty long (over 24" from end to end) and allows plenty of flexibility as to having room to find a good spot to sit it while in use.

We were doing realtime blog and twitter updates (www.thequietones.info) on a 2500 mile road trip.

Initially we used the Kensington Inverter which was disappointing because of constant fan noise.

That was not the case with this Duracell Inverter, which performed well under high use with a MacBook Pro and Iphone.

Though the Kensington is recommended by Mac in stores and online, it is not a superior product compared to the Duracell.

In addition, the Kensington is priced higher.

What was most impressive was the ability to run the laptop and the Iphone, without interruption while they were still being charged.

We highly recommend this unit.

Good Product, compact and quiet. It was able to charge my Macbook Pro 15" laptop when it was turned off. However, if I play a DVD movie with max brightness, the battery could not get charged, and the power supplies continuously shift between battery and the Power Adapter. This probably happens because battery is getting used more than it is able to get supplied by the adapter. Even though it is a 175 watt, don't forget it only provide a max of 120 watt if you are using car port. 175 watt max come from outside car battery.

I guess some power is better than nothing.

We bought this for a 6 hour road trip. We recently had a baby and my wife would have to use a breast pump during the trip. The pump will run on batteries, but it is very weak so we got this to power it in the car. My wife said it worked like normal and everything was great. I then tried to charge my iphone via the USB port while she was pumping and she said she could tell the sucking power in the pump diminished immediately as I plugged in the phone. This is why I only gave it 4 stars. Other than that everything is great.

Duracell DC tp AC Pocdket Power Source Inverter 175 watt.

Product is very compact and adequate as a power source. Size is the main selling point in my case, I have another inverter and it is 3 times the Duracell size.

Based on the excellent reviews I bought this to power a small medical device with an electric motor (CPAP machine). The machine uses on average about 15 watts of power, but spikes up to instantaneous power usage of up to 30-50 watts for short periods. This should be easily handled by this inverter, but it is not. The inverter cuts out momentarily on some of the spikes, turning the machine off. This may also be the issue with laptop charging. A bigger inverter I had lying around runs the machine perfectly from the same source.

Other than that, this is a nice little inverter. It is really tiny, much smaller than it appears in the photo. It has a small and very quiet fan which runs much of the time. I may be able to find a use for it elsewhere.

I'm giving it only 2 stars because it simply doesn't even come close to powering a device that it should be able to based on the 175 watt spec which is what the consumer should be able to rely on. It can't handle a load that jumps from 5 watts to 50 watts. - Car Adapter - Inverter - Power Inverters - Car Charger'

Grill Accessories - grill accessories, coleman grill

This is what I needed and seems to be good quality. Minus one star because the price is so high.

It was hard to tell from the description (here at Amazon and other web sites) if the connectors on this hose were correct for my needs and how it attaches. I ordered it anyway and luckily it is what I needed to connect a propane tank (the type that is normally used for an outdoor grill) to my 25-year old 2-burner Coleman camp stove. One end of this hose has the same connector you find at the top of the small 16oz Coleman propane cylinders -- so it attaches to the metal tube connector that normally goes between a 16oz cylinder and the stove. The other end of this hose attaches to larger propane tanks like the new one I just bought. I don't know what a 20# tank is, but mine is like 3 gallons in size -- the usual kind that people use for outdoor grills. I found out, however, that it does not fit the quick-release connection that I have on a different propane tank that came with my Weber grill. I'll have to see if there's a (quick release) adapter available so that I can use this hose with that other propane tank also. Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adapter

This thing is nicely designed and built. Just to emphasize what others have already said - it connects the 20 pound propane tank to the regulator on the stove. *It does not connect directly to the stove - you still need a regulator!* The regulators on the newer stoves are on metal tubes with 45 degree angles, the regulators on the older stoves are on rubber tubes.

It makes so much more sense to use a refillable big propane tank than to dump those little empties in the land fill.

Bought this for my portable Weber 386002 Q 100 Portable Propane Gas Grill; works perfectly with 20lb propane tanks.

Works like a charm, but CAUTION: If you plan on disconnecting the 20lb tank with the hose, you may receive some propane blow off. THIS IS OK! It is just the build up within the 5 foot hose.

HOW TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE:

Towards (or at) the end of cooking, close the propane nossel to off while keeping the grill turned on high. This will burn off all the leftover propane in the line. I usually turn it off within 3 minutes left of cooking as to not waste it; sometimes it'll continue burning, slower and slower, for 5 minutes after.

EXPERIENCE: The only problem that I have with Coleman, is that most of their propane gear is designed to use the small propane cylinders. This forces us to spend $25.00 on a high pressure hose adapter. And Coleman knows that you are going to need it, as you can't run a stove for very long on a 16-OZ propane cylinder. I guess for most of you that go camping, wouldn't need this at all. But for those of us using this at home, you need this to hookup to your 20-gallon tank.

I have not had any problem at all with this hose adapter. However, I feel the need to put a warning out there for you folks. This side of the hose which attaches to your propane tank, does not use right handed threads! You must rotate it counter clockwise, to get it to attach to your tank. Get it tight, but not too tight either!

The hose has a nice 5-foot length to it, so this way you can keep your propane tank a good distance away from the stove, I like that. The other end of the hose attaches to your stove via right handed threads, so just go clockwise with that one. I don't even need to open the valve on my propane tank all the way, just one turn is enough.

The stove uses a fixed regulator setting, so no adjustment is necessary. All I have to do, is hold the flame of my barbecue lighter up to the burners, and then open the valves. They ignite almost instantaneously, and then I can began cooking my food. I have had 0 issues with pressure flow, so I believe this hose to be a quality piece.

CONCLUSION: You may not need this hose adapter if you are going on camping trips. However, if you plan to use this at home, you probably should consider getting one. I have had 0-issues with this hose, and I highly recommend it. 5-STARS

THIS IS A FABULOUS ADD ON FOR ANY GAS GRILL PURCHASED TO USE WITH A SMALL BOTTLE OF PROPANE, IT IS VERY EASY TO FIT INTO ANY LARGE OR SMALL PROPANE TANK BECAUSE OF THE HANDLE. THE PART THAT FITS TO THE GRILL NEEDS TO BE VERY TIGHT THOUGH, IF YOU DON'T TIGHTEN IT VERY WELL THE GAS WILL NOT FLOW INTO GRILL, TAKE THIS IN CONSIDERATION IF YOU DON'T WANT TO GET FRUSTRATED WHEN INSTALLING IT.

This was exactly what I was looking for. I have a Coleman stove/grill combo and this adaptor connects perfectly to the big propane gas tank. Small tanks are portable, but for longer usage this adaptor really helps.

To help understand, Amazon should show an image connecting the stove's L-shaped metal connector to the adaptor cable, and would help future buyers a lot (I mean the pic which is on the product manual)

I purchased this to hook up a standard propane tank to a tabletop heater, which would normally use a baby propane tank.

Works great, no propblems or complaints.

Much better throughput than the smaller tanks.

Cheers,

Kimball Morgan

I recently purchased the Paul Jr. Designs Coleman RoadTrip Grill and wanted to connect it to a 20-lb propane gas cylinder. I looked up and found this Coleman High-Pressure Propane Hose and Adapter on Amazon.com, and from the description, it said "Great for use with coleman road trip grills or lanterns." I saw other hoses that were selling at lower prices but I wanted to pair the Grill with the hose from the same company.

I connected the hose to the regulator and connected the regulator to the grill with no problem. Then when I tried to connect the hose to the 20-lb gas cylinder, I found that the threads are left-hand threads (counter-clock wise). Once I realized that, the hose connected to the tank perfectly.

The quality of the hose seems high. The connection was perfect. The steaks were done perfectly. Just remember to shut the tank first after cooking is done before turning off the burners. This will burn off the residual gas left inside the hose. - Accessories - Coleman Grill - Stove Accessories - Grill Accessories'

Air Nailers - bostitch, workplace

Yes , there is a problem with driving 1 3/16" pins but Bostitch will send you an easy fix, a new driver/piston. I am surprised that no one called them and posted this . I always contact the manufacturer with any issues first, some are very helpful and others are not. Great CS from them, as I always have had from them, and an other wise very well made compact driver now will work just fine. As far as using 2"pins, they are too long for this gauge in real wood[18 ga.2"brads is even pushing it] ;they bend easily and can "blowout" of the wood[follow the grain] when using to be really useful anyway but the 1 3/16" is perfect for shoe base mld. for flooring installs and no filler is really needed. 1" pin guns limits the usefulness as other brands have as their longest length. 4 stars for the tool as is, and add 1 star for Bostitch being there to fix their problem making the gun excellent now. Bostitch HP118K 23-Gauge 1/2-Inch to 1-3/16-Inch Pin Nailer

Just returned mine and ordered a Grex 635 instead. I fired about 40 pins in hard and soft wood, tried various compressor pressure settings, and various settings of the so-called "depth control." The gun jammed once. If the air pressure is at the low end of the recommended range (70-100 lbs.), or if the so-called "depth control" is set low, pins will usually be proud of the surface. With the proper adjustments the best you can do is get them to be flush, which is unacceptable as far as I'm concerned. According to Bostitch Customer Service, this pin nailer is not designed to countersink pins, but rather to leave them flush with the service. The "depth control" is a misleading name for what is really just another way of adjusting air pressure. It does NOT change the travel distance of the pin.

I just received this nailer about a week ago and have put it to work everyday. The first time I used it I noticed it would only drive the pins flush which makes the tool useless. The pins wouldn't even countersink in pine. I decided to grind the tip down a little hoping that it would allow the driver to make the pin go well below the wood. I'm sure Stanley wouldn't recommend this, but it did the job and now my pins go just the right depth in any wood that I use it on. Besides this minor problem everything else is perfect with tool including the case.

shot up many a clip of pins over the past week on a kitchen with cherry cabinets and trim. guns of this ilk are absolutely invaluable in delicate/intricate hardwood production work, from temporary jigging to glue up clamping to achieving the perfect miter. but this gun drove me up the wall and forced the guy coming behind me with the markers and putty to take his artistry to a new level. almost every pin stood proud, long grain shots and end grain. if it wasn't proud there was the slightest dent from the gun nose and the pin was still didn't countersink. when trimming in standard fjp this gun is a godsend, but for hardwood work you had better invest in a microscopic nailset(alien technology, coming soon) if bostitch hasn't decided to include one in the case already

...to follow up, this pinner is but a continuing let down. production installation of hardwood is the name, having the pin hold the pieces is but half the game. the many, the proud. i have a quick learning curve, now i've got a grex.

I was excited to purchase this nailer based on its ability to drive pins in excess of 1 inch. When it arrived I was pleased with the construction of the unit, very well made in the true Bostitch tradition. Upon immediately firing up my compressor to see what the unit will do, I was disappointed to see that it had a problem driving the 1 3/16 inch pins all the way into hardwood, in this case red oak. I tried different settings and even with the PSI set to max the pins would not countersink. I had to use a nail punch to finish the job, which is counter intuitive to why you would use a pin nailer to begin with. Other than that the nailer performs flawlessly, never jamming, etc. And by the way, the 1 3/6 pins are tough to come by. I have not seen them in any of my local home improvement or hardware stores. They are available through Amazon however, so you can stock up there.

I have been remodeling my home for the past year and was completing brand new Oak stairs with newel posts and balisters and railing. I had made all these pieces my self and I had to make some very small trim pieces and attach them to these beautiful stairs but my 18 guage trim nailer just blew them into toothpicks. I searched the web for a solution and found a review of pin guns in the JCL. I went to amazon and found the recommended gun kit. It arrived in a couple days. The little trim pieces were then tacked into place and you can hardly see the mark where the pin went through the trim piece.

I'm amazed at the amount of people trying to use this 23 guage pinner as a brad nailer or even a finish nailer. Most, if not all of the problems mentioned are due to operator error. These pinners are meant for delicate trim work where very thin and narrow pieces of wood can't be attached with a small nail or even a brad. When I read about using this guage pin on Ipe or people wanting a 2" pin it makes me cringe. It seems people are going to misuse and abuse machines all day long until they break and then they blame the machine. Learn your tool and learn the proper usage before expecting the impossible. It seems most of these "professionals" don't even know what a brad nailer is, let alone when to use a finish nail, a brad nail or a pin. There's a difference.

I was not able to make it sink one pin in any material. Those little pins hurt when you run your finger over them! Maybe I got a bad one. It is in the shop now being checked. My partner has a Grex and has had no trouble at all. I went with the Bostitch because I have had great service from their other products. If you buy this gun and have trouble, send it back before the return deadline. - Air Nailers - Workplace - Bostitch - Pin Nailer'

Nikon D3100 - d3100, nikon

For the cost of this camera, I don't think you can get anything better. The low light performance is off the charts. As a wedding photographer I regularly shoot with Nikon's high end professional equipment and I was amazed how close this camera is to a pro camera. Now let me get specific. In order to compare I took a look at 100% files out of each camera I own.

Which camera excels Nikon D3100($Cheap) VS. D300($1600) VS. D700 ($2,700):

* Lens = The D3100 is the only camera that comes with a lens at it's normal price

* ISO Performance = Tie between D3100 and D700! (It could be Nikon's new processing but the JPEG looks fantastic I was shooting D3100 on 6400iso with very little noise at all)

* Low Light Focusing = D700

* Focus Speed = D700

* External Buttons & Controls for Pros = D700

* Menu Navigation = D3100

* Ease of Use = D3100

* Megapixel = D3100 (14.2)

* Sensor size = D700 (Much more important than megapixels but I won't get into this)

* Can use older lenses with functionality = D700 & D300

* Video = D3100 of course! 1080P video looks amazing.

* Frame Rate = D300 at 6 photos a second

* Weight = D3100 (light as a feather)

* Ergonomics = D700 (big enough for all my finger)

Lens:

The lens is a kit lens, it will work outside but not so great in low light. The Vibration Reduction will help indoors but Vibration Reduction can't stop a child or pet in motion indoors. Consider buying a 35mm 1.8dx AFS for around $200 and you will be super happy with this camera.

Video:

I purchased the 3100 specifically to shoot video, so I put on Nikon's brand new 85mm 1.4g Nano lens and shot video with it. The lens costs more than double the camera but I wanted to see how the 1080P video looked. It has the look of a cinematic movie. After the 85mm, I put on Nikon's 50 1.2 manual focus lens and was able to take very cinematic video in manual mode. In order to make it brighter or darker you either need to use a really old lens like the 50mm 1.2 and hit the AE-L (auto exposure lock) and twist the aperture to change exposure. Or you can hit the AE-L button when you get the exposure you like. Its not a perfect system but it works well for me. Inside the menu options you can change the AE-L button to hold the setting until you reset which is helpful.

Jello Cam (What's not so great):

This camera still suffers from the "Jello Cam" look in video if it is not on a tripod and you are shaky. The video can look like jello if moved too quickly. Use a monopod or tripod when shooting to avoid this. I'm not sure if a faster video frame rate 60fps would help - but at 24 and 30 it can suffer badly.

Conclusion:

This is an amazing deal! Unless you make most of your income from photography or have a stockpile of old lenses (this camera can only autofocus with AFS lenses) then this camera is the must have camera of the year. If you have good composition skills and an eye for light you can take photos worthy of a magazine with this. Seriously, you won't regret buying this camera. When you do, do yourself a favor and buy an additional Nikon AFS lens that has a maximum aperture of 2.8, 1.8 or 1.4. These lenses will take better portraits and deal better in low light than the kit lens. Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens

I recently updated my DSLR collection to the Nikon D3100 from the Nikon D70. There are good reviews out there that you should check out. However, I would like to share some of my first impressions.

Pro:

-Better image quality and lower noise at high ISO with the D3100

-MUCH MUCH lighter, which will be nice when traveling

-Larger LCD screen

-11 focus points, including 3D focus which tracks the motion of the subject or camera.

-1080p Video

-14 megapixels

-2nd Generation DSLR

-Quiet, quiet, quiet

Cons:

-No bracketing option. Not a huge deal since I only bracket once a year

-Cannot use my old 50mm 1.8 lens. I knew this before purchasing the camera.

-As of 10/1/2010, Camera RAW for the D3100 is not supported in Photoshop or Lightroom. Need to shoot .jpg + RAW or use Nikon Capture NX2 for RAW files. That should be updated soon, so not a big deal.

-Can hear the lens focusing when recording video.

-No depth of field preview.

-Can't use wireless remote

I'm an amateur photographer and this camera meets my needs. I love the fact that it's small and light, with great quality images. If I were a serious photographer and had more money to spare, I would wait and check out the D7000, which appears to have phenomenal specs. I'm happy with my purchase and I highly recommend this camera.

Hurray! The long wait is over! Nikon had us wait for such a long time for its newer models (D3100 and D7000) and it was just when we started thinking if Nikon will ever have an answer, anytime soon, to Canon's T2i, 7D and 60D) they released these two wonderful cameras - D3100 and D7000. Let's focus on D3100, shall we?

So I finally had a chance to get hold of this D-SLR at Best Buy today. I am not a pro by any means but I have used many different D-SLRs including Canon (40D, T2i, XSi) and Nikon (D90, D5000). When I picked-up the camera for the first time, my initial reaction was, "whoa - this is so small and light weight"! It wasn't that I wasn't aware of the specs - I knew them beforehand but I was still blown away by how small and light it felt when I held it in my hands. Then, I thought, the grip would not be very comfortable but I was wrong as holding and operating the camera is just fine - thanks to Nikon's well-thought-out design and grip. For the size and feel, it's very similar to D3000 but has more goodies from the higher versions. So from an initial wow factor, I quickly moved on to focusing on features and capabilities.

I have just started using this camera so more update will follow but in the meantime my initial assessment of this camera is - I am impressed! It is one heck of a camera which can certainly compete against the best in its class (Canon T1i, T2i, Nikon D5000). Check out detailed reviews at dpreview (.com) and cameralabs (.com) - they should be added soon if not already there.

I love this camera because it:

+ has enough mega pixels for my needs (14.2).

+ captures crystal clear images (thanks to EXPEED2 processor & the CMOS sensor, the sensor is slightly smaller than the one used in D7000).

+ offers 1080p (HD) recording, AF subject tracking is awesome (10 min max is fine with me; it records outstanding videos even in low light and to me that's big).

+ offers ISO from 100-3200 (D90 starts at 200), it can go higher but I really don't think why I would need anything above that.

+ is small & light weight yet has good grip, easy to carry around in hands or neck.

+ supports SDXC cards on top of SD and SDHC - now that's nice.

+ (25-Sep-2010): has buttons that are well organized especially the video recording mode with a lever so you cannot mistakenly activate recording. That video recording lever once unlocked, gets locked in 30 seconds if you do not record and the countdown begins as soon as you unlock the lever. Also you can record video while you're in any dial (imaging) mode (Auto, P, A, S, M, and so on) where as in Canon T2i, etc. you have to move the camera dial to movie mode. So this is a great convenience - you can jump between taking pictures and recording videos with a simple unlocking of the lever. Additionally, you can be in a preferred dial (imaging) mode (Auto, P, A, S, M, and so on) and change the release mode to Single, Continuous, Self-timer or Quiet mode (this is located right underneath the main dial) - another great convenient feature.

+ (04-Oct-2010): In-body photo and movie retouch menu. This is great as we don't need any special software to apply certain touches. I love it.

Could have been even better if:

- it had the bracketing option (not too much to expect at this price point level but oh well I don't use that much but for some people this could be a big plus).

- grid lines were available (I miss them in both in live view and in the view finder).

- Active D Lighting was not limited to just ON or OFF (either you have it or not at all, instead of low, medium, high, etc.). Don't get me wrong the ON just worked fine (better than Canon T2i) but I can't compare with all other modes.

Recommendations (optional accessories):

* In my personal order of importance - your preference may differ. *

1. Nikon UC-E4 USB Cable - not included. (~$6)

2. UV filter - a must for protecting your lens against accidental damage. (~10$)

3. Carrying case is a must to protect your investment. There are many cases to choose from and it's up to you to decide but I suggest getting something like Lowepro SlingShot 102 AW (all weather proof carrying case) so if it rains, you can pull out the weather guard and cover it up. ($90)

4. Additional rechargeable Lithium Ion EN-EL14 battery so you never run out the juice when you're traveling and do not want to miss capturing a moment for good. (~$35)

5. SB-600 Speedlight. Those who have used speed lights would know what difference it can make to an image with adjustments you can make to light for an image. (~$225)

6. 18-55 VR lens has its limitations so if you have extra $$$s, buy body only (if that even is an option) and get yourself a 18-105 VR lens. But at that point, you may want to consider D90 which still is a good camera and offers many more controls. (~$325 to $350)

Overall:

I give this camera 5 Stars because it takes excellent pictures in almost all conditions (bright or low-light) and that is exactly what I wanted this camera to do for me. Period.

I must commend Nikon for not getting into the mega pixel race (read marketing). They instead kept the photographer in mind and focused on delivering greater picture quality. Kudos to Nikon for having that courage. - Digital Slr - D3100 - Nikon Dslr - Nikon'

Ipod Touch Screen Protector

With several low-cost options for screen protectors, I ordered a few different kinds not knowing what to expect. Like some others, this one had roughly an equal number of one-star and five-star reviews. This protector, from TDC-Direct, was the first to arrive, so it was the first one I tried. The application instructions seemed self explanatory, so I did not bother with the on-line video. The firm, removable backing on both sides made proper alignment a snap. There was a couple of small bubbles at first, but they smoothed out easily. I am now getting great protection with no sign of peeling. Each protector even came with its own microfiber for pre-application cleaning. Considering I got three of these for less than two bucks including shipping, this is easily a five-star purchase for me. Three LCD Screen Guards / Protectors for Apple iPod Touch 4 / 4G / 4th Gen

Well I don't really know why all this people had trouble with this protector, but ill give my review! so it shipped in like 4days! When i got it I thought ''Well lets see if it works'' and so there was a paper with a youtube link on it just to HELP YOU and to apply this correctly, I followed the instructions and it worked! no bubbles, nothing! And it looks like it doesnt have any protector! so I recomend you to buy this one, at the end its just $1 and FOLLOW instructions! and you'll see no you wont get any bubbles and it will look great! I still have the first protector ON and I'll tell you that it will be there for a long time cause it just WORKED!

Nobody listen to the negative reviews. This product works fine...The reviews that bubbles appeared behind the protector are only evident of someone who does not know how to apply the protectors or does not have a clean screen to begin with. The screen has to be absolutly clear of any dirt or dust particles or it WILL leave little bubbles, so make sure the screen is completely clean before you apply. I cleaned my screen off very well and applied the protector from one corner to the opposite corner and i do not have one bubble...Fits perfect.

This product is alright. I purchased their screen protectors for my HTC Hero about 4 months ago, and am still on the first one (it doesn't have any scratches!). That being the case, I came back to them when I purchased an iPod Touch (4th gen). The screen protectors are still the same quality, still easy to put on and handle, but there is a second hole on the screen protector on the top right. It has a hole for the camera in the top center, and a hole for the button on the bottom center. I assume this third one is for something in the iPhone, but with this product being marketed towards the iPod, you would think they would alter it enough to properly cover the entire screen.

That being said, the hole is barely noticeable, and you can't see it at all in the images Amazon provides. It's still a good product, I was just surprised to find an extra opening in the product and didn't want other consumers to go through the same surprise.

Other than the fact that it took me two tries to get the screen lined up correctly with the holes, this was a really great product. The application was simple and i only had one bubble on the entire screen. The only advise i can give to make this product better for potential buyers is: Read the Instructions.

I read many of the reviews that were very neg. about this product. I am not sure what the problem was that they were having but it worked great for me. If I had no issues applying then anybody can do it. I know nothing when it comes to this stuff. Maybe they did not read the directions. I think for the money this was a great deal and worked as described.

I just thought that I would let people know that there is an extra hole to the right of the camera for a reason. Its actually the auto brightness sensor that can really only be seen in direct sunlight. I was confused by this too but i wouldnt let that discourage anybody from buying.

No instructions with the Guards. If you haven't put some on before, you will have to look up how to do it. Even so, I messed up the first one. The second one went on OK. They do seem to scratch easily. But for the price they are worth it as long as you expect to change them every so often.

Good product. The only thing I didn't like about it was the process of sticking it on the screen because it leaves you with a messing ending. It takes a litlle cleaning. Overall good product and would recommend to any one with Ipod touch 4

Good screen protectors for the low price they were at (Apple charges 10 times what I ended up paying this vendor). They're cut exactly to the iPod Touch's screen size and don't interfere with the operation of the device. The corners don't peel and the material doesn't scratch easily. What more can you ask?'

Ink Tanks For The Cannon Mp 530 Printer - cannon ink, ink cartridge

I use these cartridges in my Canon MP970. I'm very happy with the printer and its years of good service and certainly have no complaints about the ink. The PGI 5 cartridge is larger and lasts longer than the other black cartridge in this printer. Quality has been good.

Several times I've used generic black cartridges bought from Databazaar. The cartridges are half the price of the Canons and results have been satisfactory, though the Canon inks are noticeably better.

I've also noticed that though they are the same size, the Canon cartridges do last longer than the generic types.

The ink cartridges are easy to install and easy to remove. Usually they last many weeks after the blinking warning of low ink appears on my monitor. I use them until the very end when they are totally empty. Canon PGI-5 Pigment Black Ink Tank

Where I live the sales tax is 9.2% - OUTRAGEOUS. Local government wastes so much money on their opulent city hall, crazy retirement plans, and other programs. I like to buy from Amazon just to avoid paying the sales tax, its kin of my way of protesting goverment waste!!! And besides, this is a way better price than any of the local office supply stores.

I have found that G&G ink carts are the best of the alternatives to Canon that I have tried. However, I ultimately come back to the genuine Canon ink carts. The PGBK-5 is no exception. The Canon item is expensive, but it always looks crisp, installs cleanly, and never dirties up the printer.

A word about sources. I buy my Canon cartridges from various sources, usually based on price. This time I tried an "Amazon fulfilled" supplier. It was not a good experience. Amazon had problems with a perfectly good credit card and the shipping was slow after that was resolved. The problem with Amazon fulfilled, as opposed to supplier fulfilled, is that you can only leave packaging feedback. This is the only place I could find to relate that experinece. There are better options.

Like all printer manufacturers, Canon almost gives away it's basic printers and makes a bundle on the ink. Pretty much like Gillette giving away a free Fusion razor and picking your pocket when you go to buy the cartridges at $4 a pop.

That's just the way that it is and it makes no difference if you buy Canon, HP or Epson. Whether or not the "generic" ink cartridges are detrimental to the print head is something that only the user can determine. Personally, I've stuck with Canon but I'm not totally convinced that its own brand is any better than the no-name brands that are available for half the price.

With that said, I do have to admit that I've used Canon printers for about ten years and have never had a clogged print head using their brand of ink. Would I have been as fortunate using another brand? I really have no idea. - Canon Mp500 - Ink Cartridge - Mx700 - Cannon Ink'
