Recommend - sawzall

This is a rugged saw with enough power for most jobs. There are a couple of plain steel starter blades included although you'll need better for serious work. I bent the wood blade on my second cut. Now, I *was* cutting pressure-treated wood, which is metal insinuated into the cellulose fibers. But even the "manual" (just a single large sheet, with many folds) recommends using bimetal blades because of their superior durability. I picked up a couple for about 5 bucks total and got to work. The included case is nice. Note that you'll have to remove the blade when stowing the saw; it won't fit otherwise. But you can transport the saw without worrying about snagging the cord or damaging something.Nice for the price. Black & Decker RS500 8.5 Amp Reciprocating Saw

I bought this one based on price alone. There have been many times when having a reciprocating saw around the house would have been just the ticket. After looking around and not wanting to spend the money on a cordless I decided to give this one a shot and am glad I did. There is plenty of power for everything I've needed it for, the blade locking system is fine and provided you choose the proper blade for the task it will do what is needed. One thing to keep in mind is that blade selection is 75% of the equation with these things. Wood blade for wood, metal blade for metal, etc. DO NOT go with cheap blades and you won't be disappointed.

First, I am a casual, around-the-house handyman, not a professional. So this saw is great for me. Not too expensive, but does everything I need it to.Comes in a nice case, and I bought a couple of heavy duty blades at Home Depot for a project I needed to do.

I am doing a major remodel job to my bathroom. The steel bathtub had to be removed. Rather than rent a saw or hire someone to do the job, I purchased the RS500K and planned on splitting the tub in two so it could easily be removed. Spent another $30 for a few different blades. Tungsten Carbide worked best at a slower speed for this tough sawing job. Speed control was a little tricky at first but it was pretty easy to get the hang of it. Cutting in middle of the tub took a bit of acrobatics and was a bit tricky. I was able to reverse the blade and cut in a push instead of a pull direction quite safely. It also made the acrobatics easier to endure. Steady easy pressure finally got the job done. Actually took quicker than I thought it would. Holding the saw, whether pushing or pulling was quite comfortable. Dont forget the cutting oil, it does make a difference. The motor does get hot, but anywhere you are holding the saw, you are far from the heat of it. So for doing the odd tough jobs, this is all you need. The blades that came with the saw are not tungsten carbide, though I did try the metal blade and the quality seemed comparable to a similiar type from another brand. Storage case is nice and plenty of room to keep spare blades.

I purchased this B&D product from menards. I had an old milwaukee Reciprocating Saw that had the screw in for the blade change. When I got it, the screw was striped out. I tapped out the scew and put a new one in. After my first cut, it stripped out again. So I gave it away an bought this one. I have used this saw for hundreds of project and the quick blade change is completely awesome. For the money I spent on this item, it's well worth the price that I got it.

Buy it, you won't be dissapointed

I bought this saw a few years ago and have used it for a few small jobs. However, it proved itself this past weekend as we gutted our kitchen down to the studs. We used this saw to cut out an arch that was built into a breakfast nook area. It consisted of several layers of 2x4 boards, metal drywall corner pieces, metal mesh, etc. This saw zipped through all of that and we pulled the arch out in no time. I also used it to clean up the mess from our project and was impressed with how quickly it cut through the debris to make for more manageable pieces. I started my cleanup with a buddy's saw and its blade became stuck in a chunk of 2x4/plaster and I couldn't get it unstuck. I used my saw to get the other blade cut out and the rest of the structure cut up. This saw and a pack of good blades is all you will need for most demo projects!

I was a little concerned about a "refurb", 6.5 amps and a Black and Decker but once I put a blade in and put it to a pressure treated 4X4 my doubts were cut as quickly as the 4X4. I cut ten 4X4s in a row and it didn't get hot or bog down at all. As far as "refurb" goes I couldn't tell this from brand new and will continue to look for "refurb" bargains on Amazon. Granted I am not a carpenter or professional but I have an older Sawzall (Porter) that didn't have the easy blade inserts and frankly I can't tell the difference between them other than the B&D is lighter and the quick change blades is a blessing. Why buy a new one? I still can't find my old one in the garage! - Sawzall'

Computer Audio - usb sound, mac compatible

May 2010 Update:

Just an update to say the sound card is still working fine. I've moved over to Fedora Linux now and this beast installed without a hitch (no restart required of course, unlike Windows!). All in all happy with the Turtle Beach amigo. If I had to do it all over again I'd probably go with the Micro II since that seems to be offered in the real black color I was looking for (don't need the mic input that badly), but this is still a good product!

INTRODUCTION:

My 1 year old Star Tech USB Sound Card (Model # ICUSBAUDIO) decided to break literally two days before Turtle Beach released their updated Amigo and Micro cards. The reason it broke was a phsyical design that I wasn't happy about with nearly all USB sound card adapters, including Turtle Beach's previous Micro iteration.

I can't explain it well, but they have the metal connector fused right into the card. My Star Tech literally had the metal connector eventually come apart. Just really cheap, but for the price you can't complain.

So, rather than ordering another cheap USB sound card that will probably give out in another few months I put in a pre-order for this Amigo II refresh that was slated to be out March 16 2010.

MINUSES:

First, let me get the bad out of the way and list why I don't think it's deserving of a perfect 5 stars.

This comes in a clam shell type packaging so it's an inconvenience to have to go find some scissors just to get it out.

The color of the adapter is not a dark gray/light black as the stock picture might lead you to believe. It is actually a very light to medium gray color. Kind of disappointing to me because I wanted it to match the black laptop it was being used with.

There is this really annoying blue indicator light that just keeps flashing on and off every second (unfortunately, it's on the side where you will have it be facing up in clear view to you).

It still makes that little pop sound when you put it in your computer like the older USB sound cards, but not as annoying.

POSITIVES:

New design should have this last for years. This comes as a little cable attached to the card. Now the USB metal connector part is no longer "fused" into the card itself, rather there is a short little cable that is attached to it, making a distinct separation between card and connector. This should make the product last a long time (I hope). I have never had a USB cable go out on me, and this looks like that, so it should be ok. Of course, I have only just got the Amigo II today so I can't say for sure if this will be the case...

When driving the volume up, it's not like the other USB sound cards you might have used where it's really, really loud even at the lower volume settings (I think I had my old Star Tech only at one or two volume bars out of like 20!). It looks to me like Turtle Beach toned it down where you really can up your computer sound a bit more bars/notches and not have to worry about it being too loud. Even at the loudest possible setting on my laptop, I find plausible to listen to (just like using my native sound card built into my laptop -- but definitely louder of course!).

Sound quality wise, it's pretty good to me. I wouldn't say it's a noticeable improvement to my old sound card. I'm not much of an audiophile, but I know there's products that sell for way more than this that will probably give you better sound quality if you are really willing to pay for it. I honestly don't notice much background static noise even on the highest volume, so I think this is reasonably good. My old sound card had a lot of static noise at those type of volume levels...

I haven't used the microphone input. Most people will most likely get the Amigo II over the Micro II because the Micro does not have a mic input. If you need the Digital Audio Out feature though, you should get the Micro. Since I am going to be using headphones with this only and not connect it to another sound system, there was no real advantage to get the Micro for me personally, as I assume both products would give you the same analog sound quality.

Also, this is just plug in, let your OS do its thing, and play. Although I did have to restart Windows 7 after it installed the drivers (automatically). But no software or additional processes taking memory away needed to make this work.

CONCLUSION:

Overall I recommend this because I think it will last a longer time than the other conventional sound cards. I will try to remember to update this review in case this sound card ever breaks down in the near future. If it breaks within a year, you should be covered because Turtle Beach has a 1 year warranty. Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo II USB Sound Card & Headset Adapter

Works flawlessly under Windows Server 2003x64. The best audio quality I've ever heard from a computer: reduced deep bass, a bit plump in the mid bass, and some boost at the very high end gives it a very detailed sound. Overall, it's very listenable, though: little digititis, a clean alto-soprano range, and reasonable micro-dynamics.

Cheap way to vastly upgrade the quality of any system with built-in audio chips.

Having an older generation Macbook Pro running Windows XP, I find that I've got a good sound card that works in both OS's and delivers good quality sound and microphone. The crop of Macbook Pros that mine are a part of don't have mic in ports (only line in), so I've been bouncing back and forth between a usb headset and AKG k-44's for video editing (I'm a film major). It was supremely annoying to have to switch the audio drivers every time and also annoying to know I was packing two headsets for no good reason. Enter the Amigo II, which works with both os's no questions asked.

The mic comes through nice and loud, and the audio is good (no discernable pops or humming, clicking or other artifacts). I'm no audiophile, but I need decent audio to do film editing, and I don't think I'll have any problems with this.

The only reason I didn't give this a five is because I've had it for all of four hours and there's no driver, which means no equalizer. Not a big deal, but a little annoying. Also, with the mic plugged in, it always transmits into the headphones. This can get a bit annoying, but isn't a big problem. - Usb Sound - Mac Compatible - Soundcard - Computer Audio'

Pms  condition - progesterone, perimenopause

I have tried several different progesterone creams and this is my favorite. I love the feel of the cream and especially the rosemary scent. I've tried more expensive and well-known brands and have not had the success I have had with this one. One of the more expensive brands made me break out in a rash. So I'm not buying this because it is cheaper; it's just better! I sleep better and feel calmer.Source Naturals Progesterone Cream, 4 Ounce

This is the best Progesterone cream for the price. I've tried others that were more expensive, and didn't do much for any of my symptoms.

When I had my baby my Progesterone levels dropped very low so I needed something that would help with my moods, hot flashes, and is natural with less side effects.

This cream was the one that did all of that for me, thanks to Source Naturals I feel like my self again.

I was feeling old, let's just face it at 61 I had suddenly developed a general drying up feel. I remembered having read up on progesterone cream about 10 years ago. I actually gave it a try; but the mess of using it did me in within a couple of months and I stopped its use. Just six weeks ago I went to the local health food store and chose this brand because it was about half the price of the others. The saleslady assured me it was a good brand. I used it twice a day (no messy feel as I had remembered) and it felt as if I actually had my reproductive system come alive, somehow it felt as if I could feel my system actually becoming 20 again. Actual physical premenstrual little twinges began to occur. I stopped using the cream twice a day after the second week and instead used it only once a day. I reached the end of the first three week time period and stopped for the recommended week. I started again after seven days and BAM almost overnight somewhere between the first and second week of the second period I was renewed! It felt as if 25 years had dropped away. It looked as if the former vital me was in place again. Even my hair changed which I cannot figure out. People who had known me thought I had had my hair redone somehow, it was that obvious. The store ran out today as I was replacing the tube. I decided to get the brand that was available; but I am now seeing that the price is about half through Amazon for what I really want and received great benefits from. Why would I not purchase it and continue to use it? It is that miracle that every now and then we get lucky enough to have. Try it!

I have been using this cream for about a month, I noticed it working after about 2 weeks. The hot flashes are less intense and less often, I was having them every hour, now maybe 5 a day. My moods are better, my sex drive is back. Love the smell of this cream. I will continue using this product.

I thought I had the flu. Then I realized after 2 weeks of night sweats, hot hot hot flashes, nausea and irritability, that it was peri-menopause or menopause hitting me worse than ever before. I'm fifty-ish. So, I went online to do lots of research and decided that among other things, progesterone creme might be the answer to part of the midlife imbalance. Can't afford and don't want to take bio-identical or prescription replacement hormones, and can't afford the liver damage they lead to in some people...the Source Naturals had a lot of write-ups and good reviews, and with their price on Amazon being excellent, I ordered 3 tubes.

Long story short, the source naturals started improving my energy level and mood almost immediately and, no more trouble with the hot flashes and insomnia! Amazing! I also bought black cohosh, red clover, ladywort and licorice herbs from a community health market and began drinking green tea brewed with these herbs daily. Immediate improvement. oh, and a teaspoon or less of kelp powder a day in warm water...I've done the creme for twenty days now and now do not use it for seven days before starting the routine daily use of 1/4 to 1/2 tsp. of Source Naturals again. I plan to keep it up because I can't stand feeling badly!

I've used it a full 2 days and noticed a marked improvement in my hair. Not going through menopause but have found out I have a low progesterone. One side effect is hair loss. This AM I brushed my hair and there was almost no hair in my brush! I am VERY happy.

I had 2 periods a month for over 2 years, and all the Dr's I went told me I needed to gain weight and go on the pill. I'm 25 and I've been the same weight since high school without dieting and I don't trust the pill's long term effects. So, I was stuck. Then I read that most irregular flows are caused by an imbalance of progesterone, not estrogen, like the Dr's were telling me. My mom was using this product for her menopause and said it was working great and she sent me a tube in the mail. I've been using this cream for about 6 months now, and I have a regular flow with no side effects (unlike the pill). It took several months for my body to adjust out of the 2 week cycle, but now I don't have any problems. Not everyone with an irregular flow may have the same result I did, but it's inexpensive and worth a try! - Pms  condition - Progesterone Cream - Perimenopause - Progesterone'

Forerunner 405 - gps watch, watches

Update: after two months of using the 405, I have some additional observations. Based on my experiences, I would lower the star rating to 3 stars. The decrease in rating is due to incredibly poor software and support from Garmin. The hardware is still extremely impressive, despite the software failings.

Software and Support:

The Garmin Connect (which allows you to track your training progress) is nothing more than a beta with limited functionality and slow response times. Moreover, it is still very buggy. The software which automatically uploads the computer data to Garmin Connect just suddenly stopped working a month ago.

Hold times to get in touch with Garmin telephone support is 45 minutes. Email support is terrible - it has taken a full MONTH to have two email exchanges with support. All this and the problem has not been fixed.

Moreover, the software is poorly designed. You have to constantly monitor Garmin's website for software updates (there is no "Check for Update" feature). If a problem occurs in the software, there are no features to aid in resolving the problem.

Hardware:

First impressions: the form factor is nice, but you need to be aware that the watch is somewhat "thick". If you are wearing a button down shirt, the 405 will not fit comfortably under a sleeve cuff. However, looking at it from above, it looks like a normal watch. Wearing it while running will probably not draw a second look from other runners. This is also a downside since you want people to notice your shiny new 405.

Setup - this took only a few minutes and was very easy. TThe 405 walks you through a brief tutorial. Overall, setup was very easy.

Navigation - this takes a few minutes to get the hang of. Once you have the buttons down, it is quite easy to navigate. The sensitivity of the touch bezel is adjustable for your taste. I've played with the 305 in the store and the 405 actually seems more intuitive to navigate.

Initial lock - finding the satellites takes a few minutes the first time. It will lock on much faster if you are not moving. Subsequent times to find the satellites was much quicker.

Use - After you have turned on the GPS and gotten a lock, all you need to do is press start to begin your workout. It was very easy to use. I basically forgot about it while I was running other than to check my pace every mile or so. Kept a lock the entire time (keep in mind this was in Chicago's Lincoln Park - roughly 2/3rds of the sky is clear (except for trees) so achieving constant lock-on should not be a problem for any GPS. I have not tested this downtown).

For those worried about water resistance, my first usage of my 405 was in the pouring rain. It didn't seem to notice (or care) about the rain. It can handle a good amount of water without issue.

Syncing - you need to download the software from Garmin (it's actually a web plug in). However, the manual was clearly rushed out the door. Not only does it contain typos (at one point it refers to the wrong step) but it is not clear from the manual that you need to download the USB drivers. DO NOT put the ANT USB key into the computer until you have downloaded the specific ANT drivers from Garmin (so you have to download two different pieces of software - the plugin and the USB driver). If you plug the ANT key into the computer w/o the Garmin USB driver, Windows will find what it thinks is the correct driver (which is the wrong driver). The syncing will not work if you do this. Just a heads up.

I wish I owned a 305 to compare it to. In the Garmin store, the 405 did not see that much smaller than the 305, although the 405 was clearly more elegant. Functionally, I hear that they are extremely similar. You just need to personally evaluate whether the 405 is really worth the increased cost over the 205/305. Personally, I plan on keeping the 405.

Battery Life - After playing with it for 30 minutes, taking it on an hour's run and syncing it with my computer, it only used 12% of the battery life. Garmin Forerunner 405 Water Resistant Running GPS With USB ANT Stick (Black)

I previously owned a Forerunner 201 and my husband runs with a 205. What I really like about the 405 is how quickly it finds the satellites and is ready for a run. I also haven't had any issues with reception, which I often had with my 201.

Unfortunately, that's about the only thing that's improved with the 405 in my eyes. Here are my main issues with it:

- There's no way to turn it off. Sure, it goes into a "power save" mode. In this mode, the battery lasts about a week. You're completely draining the battery every week when you could only be using the battery for an hour or so several times a week. Each time a rechargable battery is discharged and recharged, it uses up a cycle of the battery and there are only so many cycles a battery can go through. At this rate, the battery is going to get used up really quickly. This is poor design. (Or perhaps they're hoping to capitalize on the revenue from people having to replace their batteries more often...)

- If you have small wrists, the watchband is too large and can be uncomfortable. I preferred the velcro strap on the 201. The 205/305 models also have the option to purchase a more comfortable strap that fits small wrists better. I contacted Garmin and there is no such option for the 405.

- The touch bezel is overly sensitive. Yes, you can adjust the sensitivity, but then once you do, it's nearly impossible to use it while running because it's not sensitive enough. There's no happy medium. Sorry Garmin, but old-fashioned buttons work better for pushing during activity. I'm constantly accidently getting into "virtual partner" mode while I'm trying to push the lap button.

- The low battery indicator obscures the entire screen. I did an entire run the other day with text that said "LOW BATTERY" across the entire display. I knew the battery was low, but I wanted to see how my run was going anyway! I can't find any way to dismiss this warning. It also obscures all menus (when not in training mode). It's very annoying because the device has at least 30-40 minutes of charge left after this indicator appears, but it renders the unit nearly inoperable for it's last 30-40 minutes before the battery dies.

- The computer sync only works with PC. With Mac market share growing by leaps and bounds, it's very surprising when companies don't come out with simultaneous platform support. Shame on you, Garmin. The website does indicate that support is coming "Fall 2008." I guess we'll see. (EDIT: I've been informed that this model now syncs with Mac, which is great! I ended up returning this product so I cannot speak to how that works.)

I really wish I'd just stuck with my 201. I feel like this upgrade was a waste of money. - Garmin - Gps Watch - Garmin 405 - Watches'

Iphone 4g Cover - bumper, iphone

BEWARE: Amazon appears to default to the lowest priced buying option - the non "TAPP COLLECTION" vendors may be selling something totally different than what is pictured! If it is not selected, go to the "More Buying Choices" list on the right hand side at the top of the product page, right under the "add to cart" section. Choose "Tapp Collections" or one of the other trusted vendors. You should be paying at least $5 for this anything else will be garbage!

If you get the right thing it's a great deal for the money. Why spend $30 bucks on "official" iPhone bumpers at the wireless store? This is the exact same thing. Fits snugly, has metallic buttons for the volume and top power (and they work). All of the holes were in the right place except for the "set to mute" one which seems to be slightly too high. Not sure if that is intentional because everything else lines up 100%.

The bumper also increased the reception of the phone dramatically. Bumper Case for Apple iPhone4 - Bumper with chrome buttons for volume and power - Black

Complete scam!! The product is nothing like what's pictured. They show/claim a bumper that looks identical to the OEM apple bumper, with metal buttons and all, but you get a foamy piece of junk, that doesn't fit properly, with poorly cut holes instead of metal buttons. My guess is that the low price point has kept others from not complaining about this garbage, but trust me, its not even worth $1.

This bumper surpassed my expectations based on previous reviews and the low price. I am not sure if previous reviewer comments were made on bumpers from various manufacturers and not by Tapp Collections. The bumper I received is made by Tapp Collections. It is perfect for my Iphone 4G. It fits well and all ports and buttons work well. I have had it for a month and it is wearing well so far. It is a good quality bumper and I am really glad that I went with this over the $30 Apple bumper.

I wanted a bumper to protect my iPhone 4, and to help me with antenna problems. Looked at the official Apple bumper, and laughed. At $29.95, it's a rip-off. So I looked further and found this one. It's perfect. Fits snuggly, and I have no problems with the buttoms and holes. Also, I gain 2 bars on my reception.

This looks and feels like an Apple bumper, but at a reasonable price.

Received my iPhone bumper, well-packed, from Tapp Collections. I don't think it's a genuine Apple bumper, but it's a pretty good knock-off. I have a Verizon iPhone 4 and this bumper was designed for the AT&T iPhone 4 as the mute switch did not initially line up properly (Verizon and AT&T iPhones have slightly different antenna and mute switch placements and designs). Carefully using a razor blade and sharp pocket knife scissors, I was able to make this bumper work for my Verizon iPhone. I only needed to make a small cut of a thin piece of rubber that was blocking the mute switch in order to make the opening larger. You do not have to cut the actual thick side of the bumper. You cannot really notice that I had to perform surgery on the bumper. I wish the item would note that it is not intended for both iPhone 4 designs. Otherwise, this bumper seems to be of good quality and looks and feels nice. The volume rocker buttons as well as the screen lock button are a harder plastic material, not the rubber material pictured in other posts for this item. Again, I'd recommend buying from Tapp only, to ensure that you receive the correct bumper.

I am now Happy Mike!!

Great product, got great deal from new Amazon seller Efox.

Most bumper have cutout at the sound and power area, which makes it hard to get to. However this bumper is designed with extender buttons on volume and power, no button for the mute since that is a switch so it is a cutout. These button feels solid, and I have no problem with it. The bumper itself is made of plastic/rubber compound, so it will take some abuse. This would be great for people who drops their phones, but since I have yet to drop a phone that would require this sort of protection for me I wished it was a bit thinner. But since I got such a great deal from Efox seller, I am not complaining.

Please note:

If you use the USB cord and plug directly to the phone, you should use the one that came with the phone. The OEM thin slim ones that fit perfectly into the cutout of the bumper, if you use generic one or the aftermarket cord it may not work with this bumper. So please keep that in mind.

I needed to find some good protection for my new iPhone 4 which I considered kind of delicate - most of the surface is made of glass. Then I picked these up (black for me and white for my wife) from Tapp Collections and couldn't be happier once I received it. Besides of good price compared to the one at Apple store costs $25+, this bumper case fits perfectly with my new iPhone 4. It provides good protection that the glass surface front and back will not touch the table directly.

And I don't find the problem the other reviewer mentioned of the power and volume key coming off. Maybe the problem was with another seller. Mine got no problem whatsoever. - Bumper - Iphone - Iphone 4 - Case'

Rechargeable Flashlights - rechargeable batteries, mag lite

The Maglite rechargable flashlite is one of the finist flashlights available. It's no wonder Police, Fire, Rescue, Home Inspectors, etc use this light. It's 30,000 lumen light is so bright that you can see it even on a sunny day. It's equally impressive at night also. That said, the batteries only last between two and seven years depending on use. With daily use as a home inspector they usually lasted two to two and half years with daily recharging. Since getting out of that business five years ago I've used the flashlite like most families, ocasionally as needed and when my grand children liked to remind me how bright they are. They too were quite impressed with them. Let me tell you - you get used to not having to replace batteries in your flashlite. But like all things; nothing last forever. But recently I finally tired of having one dim flash light that needed regular recharging ( I own three ). I asked my wife who's always out and about to stop by a national tool and electric franchise to pick me up a replacement battery. Fortunetly the sales clerk couldn't figure out which battery was correct and when she got home and reminded me how much they charge for em I said "well let's look on line". Good thing cause Amazon sells them for half as much. When I pulled my old battery I saw that I had wriitten the purchase date of Aug 03 on it. So there you have it. I used that light for two years professionally and four and half years as Harry Home Owner. So, are they worth it? you betcha. If you want to buy one flashlight that will serve you for likely the rest of your life, buy a Maglite rechargable and note the date of purchase on the battery. It's nice to be reminded years later how long it worked. Good luck. d Maglite ARXX235 NiHM Replacement Flashlight Battery

Although I have recently received this product, I anticipate no problems. I had bought a Nickel Cadmium replacement battery for my Mag rechargeable flashlight earlier last year. Since then, I have acquired another flashlight (needing a replacement battery) identical to this one, so I swapped the NiCd battery to the new light, and replaced my original light with the NiMH battery. So far, no issues. It has held a good charge so far, but I really haven't used it long enough to deplete it. So time will tell to prove the NiMH vs. the NiCd as being a better value for the money, but so far, so good.

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to order a new maglite battery for my rechargable and I now see the battery is not ni-cad but NiHM. It was about time! Serisouly. I love this new battery. Lasts longer and it seems just a tad brighter for the full battery lifespan between charges. I highly recommend this.

This battery fits my flashlight perfectly. I was glad to see this replacement available, as it should last a lot longer than my old battery. The price through Amazon was much better than through other merchants.

Seems to put out a "brighter" light than my old battery, but it should-right? The real test will be after a few years. Wish I had dated my old battery but I think it lasted 5 years or longer. I put the date installed on this battery with a "sharpie". I expect it to last at least as long as the old one. - Mag Lite - Flashlight - Rechargeable Batteries - Battery Packs'

Printer Cable

I recently needed to buy a USB cable for my new printer and I found out that there are many USB cables at very different prices. So, doing a search I found the "Belkin 10FT USBA/USBB Device Cable" but I was not sure if it would work for a printer. Since it was the less expensive I decided to give it a try. I'm happy because the cable works great with my USB printer and I found out that the cable actually exceeds the features displayed on amazon site. The cable manufacturer part number is F3U133-10.With the following features:- Hi-speed data transfer to 480Mbps - 10 FT (3m)- A plug/ B plug- High performance 20-gauge power wires. - USB logo guarantees cables are 100% compliant with current USB specifications (Works with all USB devices A/B plug).- Works with USB 2.0 - Connect a USB 2.0 or 1.X device to your computer.- Belkin lifetime warranty.- Gold plated copper contacts provide maximum conductivity and minimizes data loss.According to the manufacturer site you can connect your USB printer, scanner, hard drive and more to your computer. As I said, it works great with my USB printer.I definitively recommend it because I got the less expensive (good length of 10ft) and great quality option for a USB printer cable. I'm also happy because the cable specifications exceeded my expectations for the money I paid. Belkin F3U133-10 Hi-Speed USB 2.0 Cable (10 Feet)

When I purchased this product I thought I was getting a USB version 1 cable. It turned out to be 2.0. Fortunately the package said it was backward compatible and it was.The book that came with my printer stated I needed a USB cable with a length of no greater than 6 foot, shielded, etc. They should tell you this before you get the printer. Fortunately, the 10 foot cable connected and worked flawlessly. I always try to buy Belkin since they generally have top quality products and good support.

one cannot write poetically about cords, but I can say this is super value. Much less than I saw on the market. Works great, quality is superior to what I was checking out for comparisons, and I was so THRILLED to have the longer length. If you need extra USB cords, this is a good deal.

At $3.99, this is a good price for a name brand USB cable, but only because they tend to dramatically overcharge on their prices. There are no differences with USB cables other than length and the shape of the connectors placed on each end. There are plenty of online retailers that sell USB cables for less than $1.00 and they will work just as fine as any high priced one you may see at BestBuy, CircuitCity, Staples, OfficeMax, Radio Shack, etc. Many of the high priced cables will include gold plated connectors which is just a gimmick, they provide no better connection that those without it. Also USB cables do not have speeds associated with them they way computers and laptops do. There is no such thing as a USB 1.1 or 2.0 cable so if you have an older USB cable when USB 1.1 was the only thing out, it will work perfectly with the newer USB 2.0 technology. They are made exactly the same, you're told you need a newer "high speed" hoping that you'll throw away you perfectly capable current cable and buy the new $40 gold-plated zero-loss oxygen-free cable when you really don't need it. As I said at earlier, $3.99 is a good price for this set, but you can find better if you shop around. If Amazon is the only site you trust buying from, definitely get these.

1-17-2005 Update. At the current price, this is no-longer a good deal.

I bought a new printer on Dell and was going to buy a USB cable from them but when I saw $25 for the cable, I decided to look elsewhere. When I saw this cable on Amazon for such a low price, I was concerned that it wouldn't work with my printer. I received it quickly from Amazon and it worked great. Higly recommend to everyone.

$4 for a USB cable, nowhere except Amazon.com can offer this price. Compared with other local retail stores ($19.99), this is a lot cheaper. The cable is exactly the same as the local stores' USB cable. Worth to buy.

Wow, the price on this USB 2.0 cable is just incredible! It's high-quality, high-speed (USB 2.0), and just all-around excellent.

Plus, it can be used with more than just printers. You can also use it with many external drives (hard disk, DVD drive, CD drive, Zip drive, etc.) that use USB 2.0.

This is the best USB cable to get.'

Beautiful Earrings - diamond earrings, studs

Ok, they're not really diamonds but when they sparkle they defintely can pass for it. They are bigger then the picture actually shows. I love these earrings, i wear them everyday with any outfit. They are defintely worth the price. 7mm Round Clear Cubic Zirconia 925 Sterling Silver Post Stud Earrings

I purchased for my wedding in May, they not only look beautiful, they are just what I needed for that extra little sparkel. They can quickly and with no defects or flaws in the packaging. Can not wait to wear the in May.

For $3, no complaints. It's bigger than I would like and it doesn't have a fraction of the brillance of my quality CZ earrings but I paid a lot more for those and everyone thought those were real. It's been over 7 years and still everyone thought my quality CZ earring are real; it might be worth it to get better quality CZ.

They were a great cut and really sparkly! but not so sparkly that they seemed like the walmart junk. I bought them for my boyfriend and they were the perfect size and cut for him and I really liked that they were sterling silver, he can be kind of sensitive to metals and these didn't bother him a bit! - Cubic Zirconia - Diamond Earrings - Studs - Earrings'

Knife-setting Jigs - jointer knives, jointer blades

My joiner is an old 4 1/8 inch Craftsman. It runs pretty good but the knives are not easy to set. This jig seemed to be just the thing but there are two short comings I found:1. When the jig is lined up with the knife at top dead center, the screws holding the knife in place are not accessible. So the jig has to be moved forward enough to get the knives to rotate just a bit. By this time, the knives are to high. With this set up, no amount of tweeking got both knives parallel and at the same height. The way I tested whether the knives were parallel was to join a piece of scrape (3/4 x 3 1/2). This joined edge (3/4) was placed on the cast iron saw table and a square was used to see if the 3 1/2 side was 90 degrees to the table. I never had a test run where this was the case.Another way I came up with was a ruler. The ruler was placed on the infeed side with the "6" on the very edge, side closest to the fence. Then the cutter was rotated until the steel blade hit the ruler. The contact point on the ruler was noted. In my case, this was about 7 1/16 on the ruler. Then the ruler was moved to the other end of the knive and the process was repeated. Most of the time I could not detect a difference so maybe my machine is the real problem.2. The magnets were not strong enough to pull up the knives every time. Sure, the jig would stick to the cast iron table but the knives would often stay put. I used a spare rare earth magnet to pull the knives up to the jig magnets. Once in place, the knives would stay put most of the time. I ended up making another little tool with the magnet screwed to a scrap piece of wood. This was used to pull the knives up to the jig magnet. So, I'll keep the tool as it came by way of UPS and sending it back would not be free. But I would be very careful about recommending the jig. Wrap - gift idea, shawl

One reviewer mentioned that the quality of these items was "so so" for the price and I would have to agree. They are soft and comfortable to wear but are very thin and would only keep off a mild chill or cool breeze. It is great for a neck scarf or light wrap. The picture--to me--makes the wrap look very thick and the design looks well-delineated but that is not the case. The design IS woven in but it is "speckly" and not sharp. If you are accustomed to elegant, plush, Pashmina wraps this may prove disappointing. 70" x 28" Big Paisley Jacquard Double Layer Woven Pashmina Shawl / Wrap / Stole - Royal Blue

I purchased the purple and olive "Jacquard Double Layer Woven Pashmina Shawl/Wrap." These are fabulous, magnificent, well made, high quality, reversible, great color saturation (even the olive, which can be drab), beautifully woven design (not printed). Great weight for winter as a scarf (in office as a scarf/wrap), or in the summer as a wrap to keep the chill off. Fabric Has a very nice drape, and doesn't wrinkle easily. I highly recommend this beauty. I will definitely be back for more!!! I thank Saka's for bringing these to us.

Tacky, tacky, tacky. In the picture, the design is clear and set off from the background. The background color is a lovely shade of purple. In reality, the deign looks coarse. The background color is kind of muddy. There's a shiny gold thread through the design that seems to cheapen the whole look. Plus, the Pashmina/silk balance is more like 55/45, as compared to the 70/30 of other options. I returned it.

I ordered these for all 3 of my "moms" for Christmas and was only sorry that I didn't include one for myself. They are well made and stunning from both sides. They look and feel much more expensive than they were.

The shawl is beautiful and expensive-looking. I was proud to have ordered it as a gift for my sister. I was even prouder when I saw the identical shawl in an upscale gift shop marked $65.00, knowing that I had paid only $25.00.

I bought this to complement a dress I'm planning to wear for an evening event. The wrap is beautiful. I ordered the charcoal and it's a gorgeous deep slate color which makes the gold color 'pop'...It looks much more expensive than the $25 I paid for it! The only negative is that it is thin so even though the model shown looks like it will cover you, it won't keep you warm. - Gift Idea - Shawl - Pashmina Wrap - Pashmina Shawl'

Corded Phones - caller id, 1-line corded phones

As a basic, one-line, corded phone, this is adequate. The sound quality is good, and the instruction booklet is well written. But the keypad has an annoyingly stiff touch, and the caller ID screen is not easy to read in most kinds of light. The instructions say it needs three new alkaline batteries every six months; in my experience, it's every two months. Panasonic KX-TSC11B Corded Phone with Caller ID (Black)

Good solid product. Functions well. Great for power outages, since it doesn't need to be plugged into an AC outlet (Battery powered). The only drawback was the unlit display (can't see in dim light or darkness). A longer handset cord would be nice too.

Like most people I wanted an alternative to cordless phones in case of an emergency. The Panasonic KX-TSC11B more than meets my basic needs.

My basic requirements for a corded phone are that it:

* must be black - this phone is black (except for the cord, which is sort of a dark gray)

* must have Caller ID - this phone has Caller ID (the name flashes first, then the number, and if you don't pick up off of this phone it will say "missed call" and include the name/number)

* must be DSL wall compatible - this was one of my main requirements as I have a DSL wall filter and if you're like me you have found that very few phones fit nicely on the wall with a DSL filter, but this one includes a wall adapter and fits in very snugly

* the ringer must be able to be turned off - this has a side button that will allow me to either turn off the ringer or lower it.

Overall this is a fantastic phone. Panasonic makes durable phones that last for years and years. My only complaint is the extension cord. First of all it wasn't black, and second of all it was grossly long (there is no way it would have fit on my wall with my DSL filter) so I had to replace it with a tiny black extension cord.

BTW if you're looking for a set of high-quality cordless phones at a great price, check these out.

Remember, you are what you buy.

I bought this as an office phone. I've got an answering machine and a cell phone, but I needed an additional phone to be by the computer in my upstairs office and I wanted a caller I.D. home phone so I could know who is on the other end because I get 10-20 calls each day plus over 100 emails. I can see who is calling without holding a receiver up to my ear.

I was convinced to buy this phone by the price and features. I like the black color because it doesn't get dirty like the white or light grey phones. You don't see it, but there is always a layer of dust on your keyboard. It transfers easily. I am so busy I don't have time to clean my office very often, and my materials are so sensitive that I do not trust an ordinary cleaning agency to come out.

I've only had this phone for a few days, but I can say that it is attractive and seems to be built well. I called my Mom and she said the sound was crystal clear. My sister said the same thing. I called my exgirlfriend too, and she liked it. I heard them just fine as the speaker is great. I could go on about this phone...it is so cool. For the same price of one meal out on the town you can get this phone.

This is a decent corded phone with good sound quality. We bought it for use as a wall phone, and the construction doesn't really warrant that use. It can hang on the wall but doesn't look great. Also, the caller ID screen is very dark and difficult to read. But, as I said, for the cost, it's a decent phone without the bells and whistles you sometimes don't want but get stuck having to get. - Corded Speakerphone - Caller Id - Good Quality - 1-line Corded Phones'

Picture - picture, hooks

I recently held an exhibit for my photography and the space had one large wall that had brick behind it. The owner was very concerned about her walls and wouldn't allow any holes or permanent anchors so I bought these adhesive hooks. I tested one in my home for a few weeks prior to the show to see how well it held. It held fine until the weather changed colder. The wall I tested on was the exterior facing wall, (another reviewer also mentions not using these on exterior facing walls). Otherwise it probably would've held indefinitely. Each frame was 16 x20 with glass and one medium hook held each beautifully. I only needed the pictures up for a few days for the show and they held securely. I also like how easy these were to place. All frames sat exactly in line.

When I took them down they removed cleanly, just as described. It does take effort and was obvious that they were on surprisingly secure but still I would only use these where you absolutely can't drill. Perfect for walls covering brick!

It is very important to read and follow the directions exactly. I used 99% alcohol to prep the wall and let each hook sit overnight before I put any weight on them. That did the trick for me. Command 17043 Wire-Backed Picture-Hanging Hooks with Adhesives Strips, 3 Hangers 6 Strips

I bought a fairly large sign, and was not really sure what to do with. Thanks to these bad boys, I was able to hang it up without the commitment of holes in the wall. I wasn't sure how much the sign weighed so I used two - it's been hanging on them without incident for over a month now.

Moved into a new apartment and decided to try the 3m Command system. It works great - as long as your picture weigh under 10 pounds. Most of mine did so I hung my pictures in record time and without damaging the wall.

These work so well! I just moved into a space and didn't want to put holes in the wall, the command hooks did the trick. (Be careful if you need to move them, the first time I did I didn't stretch the backing far enough before lifting and the paint came off the wall.)They really do hold well.

I placed two of these picture hangers on a clean wall in a quiet, undisturbed part of my apartment, pressed them hard into the paint for a minute each, and then waited about six hours before hanging up two lightweight frames (each well under 5 lbs) on them. A few hours later, without any provocation, one of the frames comes crashing down, shattering the glass cover.

I took down the still-hanging frame and picture hanger, went back online and bought the waterproof version of these adhesive strips, figuring that although these walls are not subjected to any water or high temperatures/humidity levels, maybe waterproof is a little stronger. A couple days later, with my new strips in hand, I repeated the process: stuck them onto the wall, pressed them hard into the paint, and waited half a day to let things set before carefully rehanging my frames. This time the other (unbroken) frame stays on on the wall for about a day before the adhesive comes loose and the picture hanger slides down to the ground, bringing the frame with it and causing my second piece of glass to crack in the middle as the frame hits the ground.

Fed up, I take the earlier damaged frame off the wall and attempt to gently pull down on the adhesive strip as directed. It rips off a layer of my wall paint about the size of a quarter. So as a result of trying to avoid putting two tiny little holes into my wall I now have two broken picture frames and a missing patch of wall paint. The moral of the story: avoid these like the plague! They are just not reliable - they're either too sticky or not sticky enough, and they can cause more damage to your wall (and whatever you happen to be trying to hang on them) than plain old nails.

Great product. I've got 5 of them holding up a 25 lb mirror in my entryway of my apartment and the hooks have held up so far. They are really easy to use and I love that fact that I don't have to make any holes in the wall, which would cost me more money when I move out of this place. I also like the fact that they provide additional adhesive strip just in case you mess up the first time.....which I did!

I had my walls painted last month and decided to use these hooks when I rehung my art last week so I could move things around and not have nail holes. I was careful to follow the instructions and weighed the pieces to be sure they were less than the 5 lb. limit. They've worked fine (so far) on 12 pieces. But on two others they were a disaster. On one piece I used 2 hooks right beside each other since it weighed 8 lbs. It held for several days and then I decided to move it. When I tried to release the hooks by pulling down on each tab separately, each tab just tore off from the sticky part and left the hooks stuck to the wall. When I tried to gently unstick them, one tore a large hole in the drywall. I moved the piece and again used 2 hooks to hang it. It stayed up for several hours then came crashing down, hooks and all. At least it didn't mess up the drywall. I decided to use a nail hanger on that piece. Another large but under 5 lbs. painting crashed down yesterday (along with the hook) after being up more than a week. Both pictures that crashed were only slightly damaged due to good luck. I'm leaving my other 12 pieces up on the walls with the hooks and hoping they don't crash, but I'm a little anxious. It was convenient to be able to change my mind about where a piece would go and remove the hook easily with no trace on the wall, but then I had the two hooks where the tabs tore off and they made a big mess. So I can't really recommend these hooks because they're not reliable even when you follow the instructions.

Works as advertised. Measured twice and stuck once. Didn't even need to wait the hour and the picture (20x36 framed canvas, no glass)hung great. Even left on vacation when we turned the temp up to 83 in house, came back a week and a half later and the picture was still hanging. - Hooks - Picture - 3m'
