I really like this holster/shell combo. The shell fits snugly on the Droid and doesn't add much bulk. I would prefer a smooth matte finish on the shell to the textured crosshatch which feels a little rough on the hand. Also a cutout in the shell near the power on/off switch would be nice (I created one myself with a file). You do need to take care in removing the shell from the Droid X but once you get the hang of it its easy. When removing the shell be careful to pry up the side that doesn't have the Droid volume/camera buttons on it.
The shell fits snugly in the holster. Again, once you get the hang of it its easy to pull it out quickly and easily by grabbing onto the sides of the phone near the top with your thumb and forefinger. Putting it in is easy as there are guard rails which guide it in.
The clip is of high quality and one of my favorite clips I've ever used. It is smooth and curves away from the body so it does not dig into your side.

Nice fit, easy to attach, great clip. Does what it needs and protects my Droid X from bumps, drops and scratches.
Followup: It's been over two months. This is one of the BEST phone cases I have ever had. I've had the Droid lock up on me a few times - so bad I had to remove the battery. Snapping off the case and re-attaching it was simple. I would definitely buy this again and highly recommend it!
This is the best case for the Droid X. It fully protects without adding bulk. The unit is large enough already. I tried other cases but they added to the width where it made it harder to hold. I highly recommend this product.
I've had no issues using this case with the regular battery that came with the Droid X. It fits perfectly around the buttons. It's snug, sturdy, and I recommend it if you don't have an extended battery.
However, I purchased the extended battery which requires a slightly thicker door, making the Droid X a few millimeters thicker. At first I thought the case would fit around the extended battery fine because the portion that wraps around the back does fit over the phone fine. But, when you slide the other cover over the display/touch screen, it's a much tighter fit. After a few days I noticed the pressure from the slide-able cover caused the touch screen to display small bubbles, they looked almost like burn-in artifacts. I took off the case and those burn-in bubbles would disappear. I tried working on the case to stretch it a bit, but it still causes pressure on the display that can't be good for the touch screen.
That said, I would not suggest this case to protect a Droid X with an extended battery, as it may damage the display from the tight squeeze.

The product was exactly what it is descibed as. Although the link between the actual case and the clip group needs to be stronger. I never was able to enjoy the product simply because as soon as I opened it and applied a small amount of pressure, the small ring split into two parts. If the product were a tad bit stronger I may have been able to enjoy it and possibly given it a higher rating.
Since i got my Droid X in Aug, I have been waiting to get the shell/holster combo for it. When it finally came out I could'nt wait to get it, been handling my phone with kid gloves...lol. I loved the price compared to the verizon stores $45.00 and its exactly the same product. I used the holster mainly when I am working and it holds up great, keeps the phone in place. And I just use the shell when I am not working. The shell is still thin enough that the phone fits comfortably in my pants pocket and not difficult to take out to anawer/text. I also have a Zagg screen shield installed and the shell goes perfectly with it. Recently my wife switched out her silicone phone cover for her Incredible due to the fact it was lifting the corners off her Zagg screen shield. I ordered her a shell/holster combo for her phone and its been working great.
PRODUCT UPDATE: (05/30/11)
Well, I got into a car accident about a month ago and I had my phone in my holster, which was clipped to my belt. When I crashed, I guess I hit something in the car which pinned my phone/holster against me and the car interior. The holster did a great job protecting my phone, however the holster took a hit. A small pin that attaches the clip to the holster was bent and the clip closes crooked now, still works though. Needless to say, I am on here again to buy the same shell/holster. Too bad I can't just buy the holster, the shell protecting my phone is scratched up, but still works great.
I purchased a Droid X last week at the Verizon store nearby, and I asked the store owner if he had a case that was durable and convenient to use with the phone. He had one of these cases in stock and said it gave the best protection with accessibility to the phone / functions, along with the convenience of a belt clip. The unit is awesome. Just clip it to your belt and the phone slides in and out of the outer cover with ease, yet fits snugly as not to fall out. The screen faces in so the glass is protected by the felt liner inside.
