Underwater Case - underwater case

Housing arrived on time. Took it diving the next weekend in a cold northwest Ohio quarry. Worked well, no problems. Really going to need the wide angle lens attachment, which costs more than the housing. That's just the way underwater video goes. Ikelite Compact Underwater Video Housing for Flip Video Ultra & UltraHD (2nd Gen models U260, U1120 and U2120)

I've used this case a few times now diving in some reservoirs in Colorado as well as the Great Blue Hole off the coast of Belize. At first, everything worked great. On my second boat dive of the day in Belize I started having a hard time pressing the record button on the Flip. I've seen other reviewers mention this same issue. Unfortunately, it wasn't something I could fix while underwater or on the boat that day. My third dive of the day was without video because the plunger for the record button would no longer reach the buttom on the Flip! I've heard other reviewers state that placing small amounts of cardboard around the mounting points for the Flip inside of this case will move the Flip camera a little closer to the plungers and eliminate this problem. It's unfortunate that you have to resort to this but I'd do it right away so you don't get stuck like I did.

That issue aside, this case worked great at depths to 130 ft. I highly recommend an external light while diving greater than 30-40 feet, particularly if you're trying to shoot close-ups of reefs, otherwise you'll lose some of the color. Definitely a great way to take your easy to use Flip and capture HD video underwater. You can focus on your dive without having to worry about a myriad of buttons and toggles.

Easy to use, good to any depth a recreational diver would be at. Takes great video. Have used it in quarries, ocean and St. Lawrence river. Also attached and used while kyaking in the intercoastal and Ohio River. This case makes all controls very easy to use even with neoprene gloves on your hands. Ikelite also have green (great in Quarries) and red (great for ocean) filters.

This case works great. The extra orange lens really makes the marine life in tropical waters look great. Easy to drop the flip in and lock it down. Only problem I've had so far is that the center button, the one you use to push record is a little tough sometime. You have to really push but i guess that saves you if you accidentally hit it. - Underwater Case'
