Ipod Nano Screen Protector

Separately, the skin and screen protector are wonderful. Together they are useless.

The skin fits the nano perfectly and the screen protector is the correct size and is easy to apply. However, because the skin fits so tightly the screen protector and skin cannot be used that the same time. We attempted several times to stretch the skin around the screen protector but each time the skin would tighten up on the nano and force the screen protector to bubble up and pop off. rooCASE TM Clear TPU Crystal Silicone Skin Case with Screen Protector for Apple iPod Nano 6 6th Generation

I highly recommend watching the instruction video before installing these (2) items together. My installation went very smoothly. However, before installing I carefully compared the size of the "Screen Protector" with the inside face dimensions of the "Silicone Skin Case" and decided to cut only 3/32" from one side and 1/16" from the other rather than the recommended 1/8" from (2) sides. This resulted in leaving about 1/32" of the "Screen Protector" on each of its (4) sides for tucking under the "Crystal Silicone Skin Case" at installation. I believe that cutting the recommended 1/8" from (2) sides would have exposed (2) of its (4) edges to inevitable movements of the "Crystal Silicone Skin Case" which would have eventually dislodged the "Screen Protectors" edges causing air bubbles. Hope this helps

The new Nano is small. Really small. Owning a number of the ITouch series, I without question purchased rubberized protection for those products. I'm glad I did so for the Nano as well. This item comes with the silicone shell as well as a membrane to protect the screen from scratches. I found a video suggesting that the screen protector should be snipped back about 1/8" along two sides before applying to the screen. This is true, and important, as the silicone bumper fits tightly around the Nano, and trimming the screen protector allows clearance from the inside edges when fitting the silicone shell on the unit. The bumper is well made, has gripping edges, and clean access to the buttons...plus if you drop your Nano, it will now bounce.

I bought this skin case to protect my Nano, because it seems like it could be easily scratched. It fits nicely. Since it's clear, it still shows the pink metal of the Nano, which is what I wanted. I can still access all the buttons. I didn't use the screen protector, because I have a static cling screen protector from Apple. The case fits fine over Apple's screen protector.

This is an excellent screen protector and case system.

I watched the video review from the distributor and followed its instructions to trim about 1/8 inch off of the sides of the protector. The trick to installing any screen protector is to make sure that the glass screen being protected is perfectly clean. Tiny dust particles can create seemingly huge air bubbles that can't be pushed out.

The reason for trimming the protector is clear when the case is installed. This is a very tight-fitting silicone case. If the protector were left full size, the case would push in the corners and sides of the protector, popping it off. That, of course, is exactly what some reviewers are complaining about.

I like the case a lot. The Nano is very small, very slippery, and very sleek. It's extremely easy to fumble it, and if it landed on its face on a hard surface, the screen would almost certainly be damaged. The case has just enough "bite" to allow your fingers to grip the Nano securely, and just enough padding to protect it in the event of a fumble.

Bottom line: This protector and case system works perfectly, just as it's designed-- but only when the installation hints in the video are followed. I'd buy it again if I needed another Nano case and protector.

I watched and followed the video installation instructions here on Amazon but, no matter how hard I tried, I could not get two sides of the film to stick to the surface of my Nano. It is almost as if the screen protector is not thin enough to follow the contour of the Nano screen or the screen is not perfectly flat. Who knows. Anyway the silicone skin is okay although it makes the buttons a little hard to push.'
