Repair Kits - repair kits, awesome
For the price these tool aren't too bad. They get the job done. If you are not careful, you can easily damage these tool leaving them useless, not to mention causing further damage to your iphone. Finesse, not force is the key when using these tools.
As careful as I was, it was close to impossible to apply the need pressure to loosen one particularly tight screw. I still caused a bit of stripping not only the screw, but also to the head of the screwdriver itself.
I ended up going to Radio Shack, where for only a few dollars more I purchased a quality mini tool set. It contained a perfectly sized magnetic screwdriver that easily removed the damaged screw. iPhone 2G 3G 7 in 1 tool set
I ended up not really needing this tool set, but because of the price I got it anyway. It worked well for what it was designed for. The screw drivers were ok, but I ended up using some that I already had. This set was ok and I used them, but I don't think I would call it essential to have.
Was very surprised to see the item was at my house Saturday morning only three days after ordering. Very speedy service and exactly what I ordered. Everything was supplied as promised and packaged appropriately. Ordered the screen at the same time and still waiting for that to come in to do the repair. A+ service.
These tools will help me get the job done, so I can't complain too much. When it arrived, I was shocked to see a guitar pick, some other guitar pick looking thing, one screwdriver, two priers, a suction cup, and some screen/digitizer adhesive strips. It seems everybody is getting an array of goods with this purchase. I got what I needed, even if it wasn't listed, but the quality of tools seems I'll only get one use.
useful toolkit to repair iPhone and other microelectronics. redundant product in the case of some replacement parts which include their own toolkit. Check before you add toolkit. That said, this is all it is advertised to be, and well worth the price
The tool kit is good for what you pay for. The suction cup was awesome, worked like a charm. The screw drivers were of decent quality. I would have been happier if it was magnetized but then you get what you pay for. The plastic tools were not really helpful. I used guitar strums to do what alternatively. Overall I think it is a good buy for the money.
These tools will get the job done if you need them to, but they could be better. For the price though, they're about what you would expect. No real complaints with the two case opener tools. Bother were of the same quality as the ones that came packaged with the replacement screen I bought. What I purchased this set for were the screwdrivers and they could have been better. Both of them stripped trying to removed the two bottom screws to open the case. I ended up going with a larger, but better quality screwdriver I had already and it did the rick. The drivers are magnetized, which came in handy, but I would probably pass on buying this again -- assuming the screen kit I bought had the case opener tools -- and just invest in a good quality small driver instead. - Iphone Screen Repair - Iphone - Awesome - Repair Kits'
