My husband and I each got one of these for our Nanos and we are very happy with them. I have the hot pink Nano and he has the silver Nano and we are happy with how they look and feel with the case on. My hot pink looks more like a soft pink with the case on and of course his silver looks more dull as opposed to shiny but we think they still look great! We love the feel of the Nano with the case on it; it's a thick gummy type material. I have read other reviews on other cases where people have complained because the case does not cover up the screen. If this is a concern to you then you may not want to get this case. This case does not cover the screen or the little circle part that you use to navigate your ipod. Of course, you could always just buy one of those thin, removable screen protectors for added protection if you were worried about it. I got this mainly to keep my iPod from slipping out of my pocket accidentally. It does that very well.
My only complaint is that it seems like the new 5th generation cover doesn't have enough of a lip around the opening. The older version seemed to have a an opening that would wrap around the bottom of the iPod which worked better. As a result the new new tends to slip off more. Visually the the difference is hardly noticeably but it doesn't function as well as the old one.
this fits perfectly on my 5th generation nano. it is pretty opaque, though. you can't really see your ipod color through it except for the slits on the back and the middle button on the front. if that doesn't matter to you, this is a great product!
I had no expectation that this Nano case would protect the Nano from breakage or from damage to the screen, but what I expected (and what I got) was some peace of mind that I could grip the Nano better. Until the case arrived, I was afraid that I would drop the case easily. If you like to slide your Nano into tight jean pockets, this might not be the product for you due to the friction between the silicone case and clothing. I carry the Nano in roomy zippered pockets or in a buttoned shirt pocket allowing easy access. You may have to carve the oval on the back a little bit larger with an X-acto blade (removing the Nano from the case first of course) if the opening obstructs the camera lens. For around $3 it's a good value
I'm enjoying the iPod nano(5th Generation) even more now that it's protected by this case.
The small size and smooth metal finish of the nano called for something to make it less likely to squirm away from fumbling fingers (or slide across a leather car seat).
This product answers the bell perfectly. Even with a perfect, snug fit over the iPod, it was easy to "install", and once sheathed, the nano still fits in its dock and all controls are still easily accessible. Although it doesn't cover the display, the slight thickness of the case is likely to offer enough stand-off space between the screen and surfaces that might scratch it to reduce those opportunities.
The price for this item has varied considerably in recent weeks. I purchased two of these for two cents each(that's correct: two pennies...). It's now priced around two dollars, and certainly worth that. Don't feel bad about the deep discount; the seller charged $2.98 for shipping --on each--, even though both cases arrived in the same envelope. In a nationwide brick and mortar store (with a blue and gold color scheme), I've seen similar products priced at from three to ten times as much (yep...$20!...for what appears to be an identical silicone sheath).
Another note about the seller I received this item from (CrazyOnDigital): I gave them a neutral review for missing their shipping window, which I though was perfectly reasonable. After this, they sent me email asking me to delete that feedback. I didn't do so, but find this rather strange behavior: they should expect --and accept-- such feedback if they don't meet their commitments.
It took about 3.5 weeks to receive item. Overall, I am happy with the product. If you don't mind that the color of the silicone kind of dulls out the color of your iPod, then you'll be ok with this. For example, my iPod nano is purple, and you can barely tell that through the silicone skin... I really don't care though, because I don't want my iPod all scratched up from me dropping it or it being in my pocket with my keys.
Exactly what it looks like, no surprises. As far as the actual product goes its not the best but its really easy to get on and off, may slip a tiny bit around the screen, but thats really because of the shape of the iPod. the gummy material may pick up lint and stuff from your pocket. If your ipod gets really mishandled I recomend a (similarly priced) hard case. Also, I recommend using a screen protector with the case. the same kind used for a phone will work just fine.
