Leather Backpack - totes, bags

My previous sling bag broke so i was looking for an inexpensive sling bag. I needed something casual that i could use daily for work and regular use.

I wanted something i could sling back so I didnt have to use my hand to hold it all the time. And then i saw this bag..Its so good. Its the perfect size and everything. I bought it in the dark brown as I hav always had black bags and wanted to change it up. the leather is firm and soft at the same time. Have to see how long it will last. I can see my cousin already eying..No way am I gifting it away. Lol...

The only drawback is that it smells. the new leather stink. I applied some linseed oil and let it air and it is better now.

And also when u use it as a sling, u cant open the main zip from the side, u have to open it after separating the slings. So its foolproof and no one can easily take something when its slung in the back... Convertible Back Pack Purse, Mid Size Tear Drop Shoulder Bag, Backpack, Sling Bag. Genuine Leather

I received this backpack purse yesterday. It has tons of room for anything and everything. The leather is very nice and soft and looks well constructed. One reviewer mentioned that it smelled bad. When I read the review I thought okay, new leather smell is good. This purse doesn't smell like new leather ... it just smells bad. I'm hoping a little oiling and fresh air will fix it. That is my only complaint. In every other way it's perfect.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

After several days the offensive smell is gone and now it should get 5 stars!

I'm very glad that I bought this purse to use during my family vacation in GA and SC last week.

It's beautiful and big enough to carry around in both sunny and rainy time. I received it 2 weeks prior to my trip, so I had enough time to leave it outside the closet to vent out the strong new leather smell. For the price, it's very great too.

Before searching from the internet, I went to a few stores to look for another backpack bag (I already have a good one in black - from Nine West - that I bought 3 years ago. Love it!) of brown color but could not find any one this good and this inexpensive.

Well made purse/backpack. Nice tan lining, making it easier to see items inside. There are four different zipper pockets on the outside, and one on the inside. .There is also a lower front buckled pocket that does have a slight problem. It cannot be opened until a new hole is punched, but this is do-able! Overall I am very pleased with my purchase. It also arrived quickly.

I bought this bag because I was looking for a bag that I could also use as a backpack to ease the weight of my bag from just one shoulder all the time, I was delighted with this bag it looks good,it has lots of outside pockets so I dont always need to go inside the bag, and it functions as a sling back or a back pack, I was most excited with the price, this is a really good quality bag at a great price .

Excellent product and excellent price, this is now my favorite bag, and certainly one of the most useful and versatile bags i have purchased in a long time. Room enough for everything without being too big or bulky. Love it!!

the description of this item is foolish, it is NOT genuine leather, as genuine leather would never feel like a carton when you touch it, I have a lot of genuine leather bags and i can compare. I think amazon should take a closer look to their merchants and make sure they really sell what they describe just like ebay does...

Leather is thicker than I expected. Its large enough to hold my Kindle which was a major factor for me. The bottom is flat so the purse will stand upright. Several small zipper compartments on the outside of the purse to hold gum, pens and whatever else. The compartment in the front is large enough for keys, smart phone and ciggs and has magnet closure. Unzipping the main strap into two straps allows you to use it as a backpack and free up your hands. I love this purse but don't expect it to be heavy duty like a true backpack, its not large enough for books and the straps don't look that sturdy but as a purse its great! After reading reviews on some of the other leather purses in this price range I was afraid it would smell horrible or the leather would be very mismatched. That was NOT the case, it naturally does have a leather smell but its not overpowering and the leather all matched. The seams appear to be well sewn also. If this changes I will write again. Its worth the price. - Bags - Totes - Sling Bag - Tote Bag'

Hard Drive Case - carrying case, neoprene case

This is a great little case. it fits the drive very well and the separate pouch for the cord is ideal. It protects the drive well and keeps everything very dry. We had a rain storm when we covered an event, and the drive stayed nice and dry! Excellent buy and very cost economical! Western Digital Neoprene Carrying Case for My Passport Portable Drives - Black

Perfect for carrying my 1Tb Passport. There is an internal pocket that the hard drive can slide into and then the USB cord isn't right up against the hardware. The hard drive actually fell out of my backpack when going through security at the airport. I saw it fall and hit the floor during all of the chaos that is airport security. However, the case padded the fall and I've been using it for the past 3 weeks since the drop and no problems. I give the credit to this case even though it isn't hardsided -- it was still enough to pad the fall.

This is an excellent carrying case for a Western Digital external hard drive and its cable. The case fits "My Passport" external hard drive and the space for the cord is just right. Although you should be careful not to drop it when if the external hard drive is inside the case, I did drop it once and the drive continued to work reliably--I was very pleased and impressed!

The zipper has never given me any trouble either; actually I can't really think of any negative things to say about this product. If you find that the case is slightly too big for the hard drive you can always buffer the external hard drive with something soft like bubble wrap. I highly recommend it especially for carrying a Western Digital "Passport" type of external hard drive.

The case is useful to carry or store your external drive, i-phone, any other electronic devices, because it provides a soft cushion for impact. Its fits devices about the size of a regular index card 3x5 inches.

As an afterthought I decided to get this case for my portable external hard drive. I'm glad I did as I carry it in my computer bag and although robust, the plastic could get banged around a bit. The carrying case also has a pocket for the cable which is handy. The price was also four dollars cheaper than my local box store.

I did not buy this case for the purpose for which it was intended. I had ordered 2 archos 5 models (the 32gb and 500 gb hard drive model). Anyone who has one of those knows, and those of you contemplating a purchase should know that it is incredibly difficult to find a good case for them (or any case at all now that they are out of production). The choices I have seen are either pouches which leave some part open to the elements (or crud in your bag) and fairly expensive ($35+) leather covers. If I hold onto one of these (rather than opting for a larger, newer model) I may well buy one of the leather cases, but irregardless of whether or not I go that route I want something which offers some protection for when I travel, e.g. This case is sub-optimal as the padding is very thin (compared to cases I have purchased from case logic and Kroo among others) but it fits the archos 5 almost perfectly, is a closed case, offers at least some protection and is very inexpensive. In brief, it is the best I have found thus far and I am going to hold onto it.

I am still hoping to find something with better padding, but it is a pretty decent short term solution, and maybe even a permanent one!

I am guessing it is good enough for a drive which does not have a screen (which is its intended use). I do not have a portable drive, and as such have not compared this with other cases on the market for same, but I am very happy that it fits the archos 5. For an MP3 player/ tablet device with a good size screen more protection is desirable, but this is better than none, and does have more padding than a leather case (and at a much lower price). - Western Digital - Carrying Case - Neoprene Case - Case'

Amazon Gift Card - gift certificate, gift card

I purchased this gift card for a co-worker who had recently had surgery. She is an avid reader, and this was a fantastic gift. She was able to choose what she wanted and have it shipped directly to her. Being able to print the gift card out rather than have it emailed to her was also nice. It made the gift feel more personal, too. I'll definitely use this service again. It was immediate--I didn't have to wait for the card to be mailed--and it was personal. Loved it. I was happy, and (more importantly)my friend was happy. Amazon.com Gift Cards - Print at Home

I found the Gift Cards very easy to purchase. There was a selection of methods for sending. I chose the printable method which was simple to do with several choices of pictures and the cards looked very presentable.

These Amazon.com gift cards, the kind you print at home, are absolutely amazing. I was so surprised at how simple they were to print. No, really. If you have never printed something from your computer, then I can understand how difficult this task might seem, but once you do it a couple of times, you will feel like an old pro.

Anyway, back to these gift cards. At first, I thought there was something wrong with them because they kept printing upside down. I turned the paper around, I tilted my monitor on its side, I even tried to turn my printer upside down but the paper kept falling out. It seemed that no matter what I did, they kept coming out upside down.

I was so frustrated, I had to walked away from it for a few hours just to clear my head. Then, I figured it out! I printed one more and then moved to the other side of the printer and when it came out, I could read it. It was only upside down when you looked at it from the left side, but it was just fine when I looked at it from the right side! Who would have thought it was that easy? So, if you do print one, and it looks upside down, just go to the other side of the printer and you will be able to read it.

OK, here is a huge tip to help you get a real good card - always use fresh paper in your printer. Don't use paper that has already been printed on because it just doesn't look good. Not only does it not look good, it could be really embarrassing. I mean, what if you gave one of these gift cards to somebody and when they held it up to look at it, there on the back was a letter from your divorce lawyer?

Oh, and another thing about these cards and this one is really sad. You can only use these things once. I printed a bunch for my friends and they all got mad because they didn't work. Just keep that in mind.

Anyway, I gotta go. There's a big sale going on at Big Bubba's Dollar Palace. I like to go there because it's a real casual place; you don't have to get all dressed up like you do when you go to Wal-Mart.

Really, now. How else does one review a gift card that you print at home?

I bought the amazon gift card for a dear friends birthday. Her husband bought her a kindle and I wanted her to get some accessories or purchase some books. I was realy sick for the week prior to her birthday and buying the gift card on line was wonderful. I did not have to go to the store with my nose running and head pounding the whole time. I was able to print the gift card right at home on my own computer and pick a style my friend would like. What a great way to shop!

This was the first time I used this option. I absolutely love it. It was so easy to use and the Gift Card was actually in a printed Birthday card (my choice). I will be using this feature again in the future.

I like actually giving a gift, really, rather than a gift card, but a Kindle gift card is really practical, so I wanted to try it. I didn't want to just send an email, though, so I went through the process and printed the gift card at home. Easy! She loved it and so did I. - Gift Card - Gift Certificate - Gift Idea - Last Minute Gift'

Dlp Projectors - led projector, portable projectors

I'm very satisfied with this projector. I set it up in my bedroom with a portable projector screen (60" wide) and fed it 720P and 1080i inputs thru the component outputs of my HD satellite receiver and DVD player,(Toshiba XD-E500, available on Amazon, DVD upscaled to both 720P/1080i)to the VGA connector on the projector and it performed admirably. I moved the projector back to fill the entire screen width (60") with a 16X9 picture and the clarity/sharpness when receiving 720P/1080i signalling was better than I expected. The picture with a dimly lit room was very watchable and with the room darkened was outstanding. The colors were bright and vivid and the brightness/contrast were excellent. I used a RCA component male x 3 to VGA female adapter cable, 1 ft. long,(vendor description-HD15 VGA female to RCA x 3 male double shielded, HD15 to component video, available from Wholesale Cables on Amazon), that mated to the projector's VGA male connector plus a 12 ft. component cable that mated with the adapter's 3 male RCA's thru 3 RCA female to female barrel connectors. I also used a video switching box for the video, 4 inputs/1 output, and audio switching box, 4 inputs/1 output for the L/R stereo audio (available from Radio Shack) so I wouldn't have to keep unplugging/plugging cables all the time. I connected the L/R stereo audio switcing box output to my video/Aux audio inputs on my Aiwa home stereo/CD unit. Setup was very easy as the projector has auto-keystone adjusting feature. The projector has pre-programmed selections for movies/photos/pc/brightest/user. The user setting allows the user to set their own desired picture settings as they wish. The projector distance from the screen to fill the 60" width of the screen was about 9 ft. Although the projector has a tripod mounting hole, I used a music stand available from any music store and velcro'd the projector to the music stand. The music stand is adjustable in all three dimensions, pitch/yaw/height with locking adjusters when you get it where you want it to stay. This setup sure meets my needs/requirements completely and no lamps to replace periodically on the projector (it uses LED's). I was concerned about the 100 lumen output of the projector prior to getting it home and trying it out, but my concerns were relieved when I set it up and actually saw the picture for myself. It's not washed out or too weak to watch. I was extremely pleased with the video quality of the projector. I watched a MLB baseball game on it and fast moving objects (the ball, runners) were not blurred at all. I'm satisfied. One note: the projector pictured on Amazon doesn't look like the present BenQ Joybee GP1 model that I have. Mine is white with a black top and is almost square. Perhaps the version shown on Amazon is an earlier or another version of the product. BenQ Joybee GP1 Mini-LED DLP Projector

The Joybee is small and light but it makes a huge screen and does very well for brightness. I am a teacher that travels to six different buildings and I like to project my computer on the wall. With the Joybee I can carry it in my bag (along with the cords that do not fit in the case with the projector) and use it in all of my buildings.

I bought the BenQ Joybee GP! after reading many reviews. Size and weight are big considerations as I will be traveling with it frequently. This unit and it's giant power cord easily fit with my laptop and all my other stuff into my laptop case and didn't cause a stir going through security. Even so, I wish I had gone with the pico unit. The reason I went with this unit is because it has more lumens than the brightest pico unit I could find. The room did need to be darkened to see the pictures well, which can make it difficult for people to take notes during the presentation. The unit was simple to set up and worked perfectly with my Dell laptop. I haven't yet bought the cable to use it with the MAC. The focus is simple and the picture looks great even without a screen. I've showed Powerpoint shows on both a green wall and a yellow wall and the picture looked fine. So far, I am very happy with this cute little unit.

We've already tried out this tiny projector by running it off a laptop and off a memory stick, and were pleasantly surprised with how bright the display is and how simple it is to use. We tried it first in a room with thin shades on a very sunny day, so the room wasn't very dark -- it did well. When we were able to try it in a darker room, it did *very* well.

I agree with some minor drawbacks mentioned by others. The remote has no backlighting, so it's difficult to use in a really dark room. The focus mechanism is a little too touchy -- I had to fiddle a bit to get the focus right. And the on-screen interface to run a slideshow directly off a memory stick with multiple folders was a little awkward. However, as another reviewer suggested, if you just put all the photos in the root directory (folder) of the memory stick, then the interface isn't an issue.

We had waited a long time to buy a projector, and are very pleased with the value of this one.

UPDATE 11/3/10: Discovered a bug (or is it user error?) with running a slideshow off a memory stick. The sort order of the files is peculiar, so the slideshow may not run in the desired sequence. I created a slideshow using PowerPoint to generate JPG files in the same order as the original PPT show (e.g. Slide1, Slide2, Slide3...Slide40). However, the GP1 shows the files in this sequence instead: Slide15, Slide16...Slide40, Slide1, Slide2...Slide14

This makes the feature of creating a usable slideshow just on the memory stick pretty unusable.

It does say that the room needs to be dark, but i never thought that it needed to be that dark. I have barely used this projector because the room conditions are not ideal, instead, i end up borrowing the company's.

It seems to be exactly what is promised - lightweight, user friendly and easy to transport. The only flaw I've found thus far is that only the projector is easy to transport. The carrying case (if you can call it that as it has no straps or handles) only has room for the projector. You must purchase another case for the cords, remote, user manual and user CD. Projecting a presentation with a USB drive requires converting the slides to JPEG, and then having to go through all the settings for a photo slide show. Not quite the 'plug and play' I pictured, but I'm sure once I get the hang of it, it will be easy. - Portable Projectors - Projector - Portable Projector - Led Projector'

Holiday Lights - stapler, stanley

This stapler is well-designed and well-constructed. All hand contact areas are covered with black rubber material for comfortable use. The stapler's operation is smooth, and the handle is a "low stroke" design which reduces hand fatigue. I found it easy to pull, and was able to fire the stapler by squeezing using just two fingers. The stapler's body is made of "Aircraft Aluminum", so it is strong but lighter than the classic steel-bodied stapler.

Near the front of the stapler there is a "staple size / reload" window, which lets you see what size staples are currently loaded (1/4", 3/8", 1/2" or 6mm, 10mm, 14mm) and whether the stapler is almost empty.

At the front of the stapler there is a thumb wheel which flips the wire guide "cable tracker" down, or up and out of sight. This is a U-shaped piece of metal that protrudes about 1/8" downward from the front of the stapler. It is useful when stapling wires or cables. It shows where the staple's points will emerge (so you don't pierce the wire), and it keeps the front of the stapler from crushing the wire.

At the base of the stapler's handle there is a simple wire handle lock. Squeeze the handle closed, and then engage the handle lock. This is useful for storage, especially if you want to return the stapler to its original hard-plastic packaging.

At the rear of the stapler there is a switch to control the "High-Low Power" feature. You'll need to experiment to determine which setting is best.

I used this stapler for a challenging upholstery project. It smoothly drove 100+ staples into hard oak, without a single jam. I used Stanley-brand staples TRA04T 1/4-inch and TRA06T 3/8-inch; this stapler can also use Arrow-brand staples.

If you are stapling into hardwood, and the staple isn't going all the way in, it might be the fault of the staples rather than the stapler! Consider what size staple you are using. If you are stapling through one layer of thin material, then you should be using 1/4-inch staples, not 3/8-inch staples. In this situation, a 3/8-inch staple won't drive completely into the hard wood and its legs will buckle instead. But a 1/4-inch staple is relatively stiffer and will drive perfectly. If you are stapling through two layers of thicker material, then 3/8-inch staples are the better choice. Staples are inexpensive (but see below), so buy a variety of sizes and experiment to determine which size is best for your project.

If the staple is not quite all the way in, you can finish it off by tapping it with a hammer. But observe carefully -- if the staple is protruding a lot, its legs will buckle and the hammer will flatten the staple rather than driving it. In this case you'll need to remove and redo this staple. A staple remover comes in handy.

One note of caution -- staples are available for purchase here, but as of this writing they are available only from third-party sellers, so their shipping will exceed the price of the staples themselves. Stanley TR250 SharpShooter Plus Heavy Duty Staple/Brad Nail Gun

I've used it on two projects using a total of about 150 staples. When using half inch staples into poplar wood they didn't always go all the way in. However when I adjusted the strength of the pull I had no problem (see lever at back of stapler. This is a cool feature.) I used five sixteenth staples on my second project and had no problems using the low setting. I had no problems with jamming on either project. I gave it four stars for now as I've only used it on two projects and can't speak to durability.

While most of us don't use heavy duty staplers on a daily basis, but if you are like me when you use it you need for it to work. I can say that I have never had an issue with Stanley Sharpshooter. It is never gotten jammed and it is a cinch to replace the staples (T50). In my opinion, I think that Stanley is the bell-weather for heavy duty staplers.

One thing that is a bit of complaint is that it doesn't always penetrate pine flush. In fact, about 30% of the time it leaves about 1/8" of the staple above the surface. While this isn't that big of deal (A flat-head screw driver will pop the staple with little effort). However, if the Stanley Sharpshooter was used in harder wood like Oak the staple may only go into the wood halfway. The question is... how often do you use your stapler in hard wood?

Things that I like

- Never had a miss feed - never jammed

- Easy to replace the staples

- Heavy duty steel construction

Areas for improvement

- It takes a fair amount of hand strength to operate - many women may have problems

- Staple doesn't consistently fully penetrate pine - you may have significant problems in hard wood.

Final verdict-

While there are some minor flaws the Stanley Sharpshooter is an excellent choice for most tool boxes

4 Stars

I use this at work for stapling insulation, plastic sheeting, radiant barriers, etc., and have used thousands of staples with it. I only recall one jam ever, which was easy to clear. This stapler is also lightweight and very quick and easy to reload. Like any stapler I've used it takes a lot of force to squeeze the handle, and after stapling all day my hand does get tired, but this one seems easier to use than others. The construction feels very solid and it seems very durable. I highly recommend this if you want a reliable, lightweight, and easy to load stapler.

I've had my Sharp Shooter Plus for a short time but after more than 2000 staples it has not jammed. If you use the manufacture recommended staples and brads you may not have a jamming problem. The manufacture recommends Stanley TRA 700 series or Arrow T50 staples.

You can easily adjust the force of the brad nailer/staple gun with high/low adjustments. It also accomodates brads ½ to 5/8 inch and staples ¼ to 9/16. It's solidly made and has a good balance in your hands. Mine is actually yellow in color which make it easier to find. There's also a cable/wire guide to assist you in stapling down cables/wires.

I (highly) recommend this tool for your tool box. Uses would apply to screens, signs, upholstery, insulation strips, holiday lights, cables/audio/wiring systems, framing, canvas art, radiant barriers etc. I am an avid DIY'r. - Stanley - Cable - Stapler - Nailers'

Kindle 3 Covers - kindle, ebook

I was worried about getting this but the case is nice, sturdy and well made and what a great price. I did bling it a bit but that's beause it is sturdy enough to do so.

Had bought a jelly for the kindle but now don't need it. Latest 3rd Generation Kindle 3 E-Book Reader Black PU Leather Case / Cover - by Abacus24-7

While I agree with the rest of the commenters that this little case is both economical and looks pretty good, and does its basic job of holding the kindle, I have to comment on something I haven't seen brought up so far - the overpowering chemical scent!

I know real leather has a scent, but this is not *real* leather, and whatever chemical was used on/in it has forced me to leave my kindle out in the open unprotected, while I put the case out to air (that didnt work), and finally I dunked it in some hot soapy woollite water - it was that bad. Im hoping the bath helped, but I took the risk of ruining it because I dont know where this piece was made, or if the chemical scent I was smelling could eventually cause me or my family harm. I'll see whether or not it is usable in the morning. Im a little disappointed because it really does look good.

*****

UPDATE

I did some research and found that this chemical scent is mentioned when reffering to PU 'leather', it is not really leather and it is prohibited to call it so in some countries overseas. It is said that the scent will fade over time. One thing that I wouldve really appreciated with this item is more information on where it was made and with what materials. NO information came with the case, and if it was made in a country that does not care to use material that isnt dangerous - how would I know that? What kind of quality control does Amazon do for the items featured on its site?

I was surprised to see a leather case for under $6 after shipping, and by the picture, it appears that the case holds the Kindle 3 better than cases with four elastic or leather bands in the corners. When the case arrived, I slipped my Kindle in the top and then frowned--what was to keep it from slipping out the top? I turned the case upside down, and the kindle slipped right out. But I fixed this problem by taping a piece of Velcro to the top of the kindle and the inside top of the case. Now the Kindle is secure, but I think a little bit of foresight on behalf of the designers of this case could have avoided this problem--maybe a leather strap. The case closes shut with a magnetic clasp--I'm not sure if I like this as it can open easily, but then again, if it is packed away, it would probably be fine, and then the convenience of opening it and closing it easily is a bonus. So, for $6 and a small piece of velcro, I'm very pleased to have ordered this case and would recommend it to whoever is reading this review--just get yourself some Velcro ahead of time.

The cases that Amazon offered seemed very expensive to me, so I tried to get some alternatives...

When I got to this product I found it quite nice, but I was a bit unsure about its quality. Then, I received it, and I was really satisfied. The Kindle fits perfectly, seems not to move, and the quality looks fine at least for now.

The Kindle definitely needs a case (otherwise, it's very uncomfortable to carry, and it seems really vulnerable), and this is a great option for a great price!

When I ordered this case, I wasn't expecting much. It was far less expensive than the other leather cases available. The reality is that this case fits my Kindle 3 perfectly. I don't need to remove the Kindle from the case to do anything.

It takes a split-second to open and start reading, which was critical for me since much of my reading is in short periods on public transportation.

The leather feels good in my hands, which I didn't expect at this price point. The stitching doesn't look like it was hand-done at great expense, but given the price point, I can't imagine that there is a better case available.

For the price this is a great cover. The kindle fits well, haven't had it slip out at all. The only drawback may be that the back speakers are a little muffled by the case, but I don't really use them, and I figure any cover will do the same. The kindle on it's own was just too hard to hold and lug around the house, I kept changing pages on accident. I use my kindle all the time for boooks, RSS feeds with Calibre and instapaper. Can't fit it in my back pocket any more with the case but that probably wasn't the smartest thing to do in the first place. Again, for the money this thing fits the bill perfectly.

Firstly, I made my son happy with the purchase of the Kindle just for him. He loves to read. I was amazed at how well he was taking care of his new "toy" but I wanted to make sure that he also had an adequate cover. This case is tight fit. However, you're not intending to remove the Kindle from the case and place it back in multiple times. Everything remains accessible and it still keeps the device looking stylish. Excellent value for the money. - Kindle - E-reader - Ebook - Ebook Reader'
