Ipod Nano 5th Generation - 6th generation, ipod

The iPod Nano update on September 1, 2010 is arguably the most dramatic since the iPod Nano moniker was introduced by Apple five years ago.

Several colors are being offered in both 8 GB & 16 GB capacities.

More than an update, this is a new product that simply retains the iPod Nano name. It gains a significant feature, but loses several others.

The big deal is the touch interface on the newest iPod Nano. iPod Nano users will now be "touching," their music as iPod Touch and iPhone users have before them. The click wheel is gone. To find your music, you select a category from the Nano's menu such as "Playlists," or "Artists," and select from there. Less convenient or more convenient than a click wheel? Honestly, about equal. The screen is indeed small, but not unusable.

FM Radio has been retained as well as the Fitness aspects with the ability to use Nike + or simply the built in pedometer. However, the form factor will be a major benefit for those working out with the Nano. The previous Nano required an armband to keep it on you while working out, jogging, or the like. Not always comfortable, an additional expense, etc. However, with this new small, square form factor that need is gone. Now, we can simply "clip," the Nano onto us, with the built in clip, and run to our listening content. A bigger deal than you might think.

The downside? Features have been removed from Nano. The screen is much smaller than the previous generation. Therefore, playback of video content from iTunes is gone. Nano no longer plays video, which was a feature added three years ago. Secondly, last year, Nano added a small video camera to record low quality video, which could be played back on the Nano's screen or synced with iTunes and viewed on your computer. That feature is gone too. The device is too small now for a camera or to watch video. This new generation iPod Nano has many exciting new features, but buyers must be aware that it is no longer a video player. It is something new. Those wishing to play video on an iPod must choose an iPod Touch.

My opinion on this change? Honestly, did I ever watch video on the iPod Nano's screen? No. For me, while they kept trying to make the screen larger, it was simply too small to enjoy more than a once a year video. Likewise, the camera was simply not high enough quality to keep yourself entertained by using on a regular basis. It became a feature unused by many.

The iPod Nano has changed and gone back to being an exceptional music player. There is nothing here you do not need to enjoy music. However, the display and touch interface brings the 21st century "touch," that Apple has made so popular to a more affordable device. The touch function will be limited here to simply selecting songs or bringing up the clock, but nevertheless, touch has made its way to the Nano.

I'm most thankful that the Nano has indeed retained the DOCK CONNECTOR. The dock connector is key to use with iPod accessories such as docks, speaker docks, and built in car iPod connectors. The nano is so diminutive that if you plug it into the factory iPod kit of an automobile, the cable's dock connector will look nearly bigger than the Nano itself. Not a negative, just amusing. Nevertheless, the dock connector is there, and you will be able to use the device in such applications, and that was a significant decision by Apple. Users want and need the dock connector. It is there on this iPod Nano, but still missing from the Shuffle due to its even more diminutive size.

This 16 GB version is the largest size Apple offers in the Nano. It offers no additional functionality over the 8GB, but features twice the storage. Choose the one best for you. 16 GB is great if you have a large music collection. We should all remember though that with Nano no longer doing Video or Storing Pictures, the storage is exclusively for music. This makes 8 GB and 16 GB more appropriate size offerings as music takes up much less storage than video.

Overall, Apple has removed video (both playback and recording) from this iPod Nano. However, it's an equalling good music player. Navigation of music is now completed via touch, which works effectively despite the small screen. It's really hard to believe so much can fit into such a small device and I believe everyone will be a bit shocked when they open up the Nano the first time and see it's size yet primary function as an effective music player retained. The newest Nano brings a nearly Shuffle like size, but yet retains the functionality (touch, clip, dock connector) that serious music lovers and those who use the Nano while working out, demand. Apple iPod nano 8 GB Orange (6th Generation) NEWEST MODEL

But it's not a Nano. Once you get that, the rest is easy. It's also a bit of a mixed bag.

**UPDATE** Apple, apparently in response to complaints, has released a Version 1.1 Software Update that

1) Now allows users to turn the Nano COMPLETELY OFF by holding down the Wake/Sleep button for several seconds. No more 'it only goes to sleep'.

2) Sets the Wake/Sleep button as a 'Next Song' button- double-click it to advance through your songs or radio station presets (that's default; it can be set to Play/Pause on double-click instead, or you can turn off double-click functionality altogether).

This change should improve the Nano's battery life as well- from awful to merely BAD- as you'll be less dependent on the power-gobbling touchscreen to advance songs/stations.

Due to these improvements, I'm provisionally upping my review rating to three stars (battery life and pricing/value-for-money remain issues). End Update. ***

A lot of ppl are confused about the radical re-invention of the Nano, not realizing that the Nano is, essentially, dead. The Nano's mission was to be a compact iPod that still did some higher-end stuff such as video and picture-taking- a nice portable 'media' player. No more.

The new Nano, aka Super Shuffle, is focused on a different task entirely, and much the same one as the regular Shuffle- the gym. To that end, Apple radically reduced the size and gave it an integrated clip a la the regular Shuffle. It is now 'wearable', aka the 'Shuffle with a screen' that some have wanted for a long time.

The downside is that others loved the 'true' Nano, and now they can't have one, unless they go running for the old 5th gen models before they're gone. Some will wonder why it was an 'either/or' thing for Apple, i.e. couldn't the Super Shuffle and 'true Nano' exist side-by-side?

Others will say the Super Shuffle is inadequate even for the gym. "I don't want to look at a SCREEN to switch songs or change the volume. Lame!", they'll say.

To be fair though, you usually don't HAVE to look at the screen, because

- The Super Shuffle has physical volume buttons. They're small, but still easy to use. And as of Software Update 1.1, you can now double-click the Wake/Sleep button to advance songs- a MUCH needed improvement.

- It has the 'Shake To Shuffle' feature- literally shake it to shuffle to another song. But, as implemented, STS is inconvenient to use- see notes @end of review.

- It supports VoiceOver. But to use *all* VO features requires the Apple Earphones With Remote & Mic, which are NOT included (Apple either wants another $30, or still hasn't solved the sweat/moisture issues those 'phones have had in the past).

So, some issues aside, the 6G Nano/SS now works fine in its role as a 'gym' Shuffle with a screen.

Features-wise, it does photo-viewing (but not taking), audiobooks, podcasts (minus any video), voice memos (w/the optional 'phones w/Remote & Mic), is a pedometer, and does FM radio besides. And radio stations do sound surprisingly clear in any halfway decent reception area. Even low-power college stations usually come in clean- a big plus, since they often have more innovative music programming than commercial FM.

It also retains the 30-pin dock connector, so you have access to the universe of iPod accessories - for some examples, see 'iPod Nano 6G Docking Options' on YouTube. This is all well and good.

So MY BEEF with the Super Shuffle isn't that it killed the 'true' Nano (enough demand = they'll bring it back), but rather the level of 'milking it' Apple's decided to go with here. While I own & use one, it just isn't worth an additional $100+ MORE than a regular Shuffle.

They do much the same thing, after all- the features it adds to the Shuffle are fairly minor (for example, ever try to get consistent FM reception inside a large concrete building, aka your typical gym? Best be near a window.)

Sure, you get the touchscreen, which is sharp/clear, fun to use, and almost eerily resistant to smudges/fingerprints (nice). But said T-screen is also *really* small - going larger would've made it less 'wearable' - which compromises readability/ease-of-use. Worst of all, it scarfs WAY too much battery juice (see notes @end of review).

It does give you 6GB more storage than the Shuffle (though that cost Apple < $10 to put in there). But a 'gym' Shuffle doesn't really need to hold 2,000 songs (4,000 if you opt for the 16GB), nor does the tiny screen lend itself well to navving through all that. The capacity and price points are Nano legacies, but as we know, this ain't a Nano.

All in all, the advantages don't add up to the price charged, in terms of value provided. You can buy THREE regular Shuffles for the same money.

Now, a 4GB model for $99-$129 would've made sense. Hitting that price point next time would be great, as that's about what a 'Super Shuffle' is really worth.

Here's hoping we see that *and* a new 'true' Nano once the 7th gen rolls around. Sure, a Shuffle with a screen is COOL- just not cool enough to justify shelling out $150-180 (as I found out).

I do want to dig ya Super Shuffle, but the pricing/value-for-money is your Kryptonite. =[

Also, as mentioned, the battery life is very 'touchy' (see notes below) and pretty disappointing, and there's a few minor bugs & interface issues (also see below).

Update: Got bit by a bug (on 1.0 Software). My Nano would endlessly loop the same song over and over. A 'Restore to Factory Settings' fixed it, but still... strange.

_________________

Note #1 (Colors): If you buy online, be aware that the casing colors are more muted than they appear in pics. The blue Nano, for example, is a smoky, very pale blue in person. The exception is the Product Red model (which is Apple Store-only): it's a VERY vivid red in real life. But the other, more understated colors aren't bad, and are arguably more 'grown up'.

Note #2 (Battery Life): The batt life on the 6G Nano is VERY dependent on how much you use the touchscreen. Playing around with it a lot- which is EXACTLY what you'll do when you first get one- just KILLS the batt juice. No way around it: the touchscreen, while fun, is also a HUGE BATTERY HOG. =[

The screen sleep behavior worsens the problem, by keeping the screen lit for far too long after a touch. This is NOT changeable in Settings either. WTH?

Thus, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND putting the screen to sleep MANUALLY via the Wake/Sleep button EVERY time you're done touchscreening- don't let the screen turn itself off, it's VERY SLOW to do so. Your battery life will thank you.

Btw, Apple's claimed 'UP TO 24 hours of battery life' apparently refers to just playing music, with no screen usage. That's NOT realistic, since you DO have to use the screen for some things. Be especially careful with the touchscreen radio tuner, as taking too much time looking for that 'perfect' station is just. pure. battery. kryptonite. (Tip: Set up your radio presets early. Turn off Live Pause too- some ppl report batt life issues w/it).

For myself, doing 90-minute workouts with a mix of radio/regular music, I take 25-30% off the battery on avg - so about 5-6 hrs of battery life, real-world. The 1.1 Software Update may up this a bit, as you can then just use the button to advance songs. Be aware that the Battery Life icon is VERY schizo- 1st usage after a charge may read as taking almost NOTHING off the battery, while a similar but later use can read as taking HALF the battery. Bottom line: You'll be recharging frequently. Reducing Screen Brightness may help slightly.

Note #3 (Bugs, Interface issues): i.e. 'Things I hope Apple fixes in a Software Update'.

- In low-but-usable radio signal areas, you'll get lots of erroneous 'No Radio Signal- Please plug in headphones' messages. I get these WITH my headphones plugged in, listening to a station that's coming in a bit quietly but just fine. =[

- MANY ppl blamed the poor battery life on the fact that you couldn't manually turn the Nano completely OFF (it'd Sleep instead). This is fixed in the 1.1 Software Update, but, as you know by now, it's the TOUCHSCREEN that's the true batt life culprit. =[

- If you set the text to 'White on Black' in Accessibility (which improves contrast/readability/looks cool), all icons & wallpapers get turned into strange photo negatives of themselves. Whaaa? If this is an OS limitation, then at least provide 'negative' wallpapers & icons that look good with the feature turned on.

- The Battery Life meter and Time should be visible on ALL screens (such as 'Now Playing'). Having to nav back or 'hold down to jump to Home screen' is annoying/slow, and wastes power.

- As mentioned, the backlight power-saving needs a lotta work.

- The 'Shake To Shuffle' feature bears rethinking. First off, it's iffy 'til you figure out the technique- 2 short, FAST shakes in any direction, *with the screen ON* (1 can work, but the % is lower).

Many gym ppl/runners won't like this, though. They'll wish STS worked with the screen OFF, so they can just reach over & shake without having to do a no-look Wake/Sleep button jab. Apple's worried about accidental triggerings, but you'd like to see a better solution than this.

But Apple does deserve props and thanks for the 1.1 Software Update. Hopefully even more Nano-love is upcoming, beginning with better power-saving.

Note #4 (Protecting Your Hearing): Volume Limit in Settings is your friend. Correct procedure: Set your max volume limit w/it while in a QUIET room. At the gym, noisy treadmills/equipment can easily make you crank your volume to the point of causing permanent hearing damage, given enough exposure time. Volume Limit is a hearing-saver. Use it. - 8gb - 6th Generation - Ipod - Nano'

Printer - usb, usb cable

Don't pay $25.00 at Staples or Circuit City for this cable to attach your new printer to your computer. It's insulting enough that the manufacturer's no longer include a cable so that you are ready to print 'out of the box', claiming that new printers provide several ways to print including ethernet, wireless, and USB. Give us a break. So you are either stuck buying the cable they offer, which is priced 10 times what it needs to be, or you can plan ahead and order the exact same thing for 1/10th the cost, without the name brand. All cables are made by the same few companies, and are branded for retail outlets. They are made of the same materials, there's not much to add, unless you want gold-plated or a Monster cable. Save your money. This has been working perfectly for six months. The 10 foot length is perfect when you need to set the printer up a little further away from your desk, sometimes the 6' length doesn't give you the flexibility to reach a desktop sitting on the floor, to a printer placed on a top shelf of a computer desk hutch (found that out the hard way!). Fast service from this company, no complaints. Cables To Go 13401 USB 2.0 A Male to B Male Cable, White (16.4 Feet/ 5 Meters)

I've had this cable for 3 months now, connecting an external hard drive to my USB hub.

No problems have come up so far. It's been 100% reliable.

The bright white color makes the cable look very clean and pretty, which is something I can't say for any of the gray and blue cable's I've used until now.

Definitely will repurchase when I need to.

"USB Device not recognized" is more common than an actual connection with this cable, but it is not nearly as common as a complete lack of any communication at all. On the rare occasions that it actually works, though, it works fine.

"Ordered a printer USB 2.0 cable from Cmple and it did not work, my printer would not print. I kept getting a pop up on my computer saying it did not recognize the USB connection from this cable. Put my old cable cable back and the printer worked just fine. Contacted Cmple and they said they would refund my money. It also took a long time to receive this cable after I ordered it. Be careful when ordering these low priced cables.

I used this to hook my new Canon Pixma MP970 to my computer - worked just fine - $8 inc. Shipping from AntOnline - they gave me fine service. Why pay $35 - 40 at Best Buy, etc. I hate to say it but if Best Buy were even reasonable, I would use them - But $35 is ridiculous when I only had to pay $2 to accomplish my goal. I wish there was work around gasoline this easy... - Usb Cable - Usb Cables - Usb - Belkin'

Telescope Accessories - telescope, eyepieces

While the supplied eyepieces aren't of the same quality of, say, TeleVue plossls, they are nonetheless good generic symmetricals (most "plossls" are not true Plossls) of the sort that would ordinarily cost you about twice what this set sells for- and you get filters and a case, to boot! The whole set would typically sell for about three times what Celestron is asking here. I'd recommend this set, along with a good 6" Dobsonian reflector from Celestron or another quality vendor, as an excellent beginner's outfit. If you already have a decent beginner's scope that takes 1-1/4" eyepieces, this set will provide you with all the eyepieces you're likely to need for some time. Celestron Accessory Kit

I purchased this kit in November. I have over 20 years experience in using telescopes and eyepieces. These eyepieces are a great bargain. Through my 4" fluorite I have used the high power 4mm and 6mm plossl's from this kit with very sharp and contrasty views of Jupiter. Highly recommended

After many years spent without gazing at the stars I finally made my move again and bought a new Nexstar 114. It came with 2 basic eyepieces. This kit looked like a nice addition, for a fair price.I received the kit quickly, well this is Amazon... The case, as said before in other review, is sturdy and well designed. It is very convenient to carry around, and you don't have to worry about damaging your eyepieces at all. I found it very nice being able to carry all eyepieces at once, and leave the case a few feet away from my observation location, in order to grab elements I need. The set features some extra space inside, and you can fit another 3 eyepieces. Eyepieces are of good quality. Not top of the line, yet they provide a crisp and clear view. The barlow lens is well built as well. I found the larger eyepiece (the 4mm one) to be of average quality, especially when used with the barlow lens.Filter are well chosen and give you a good range of choices. I found the moon filter not dark enough to my taste, but it still does a nice job.Overall, the born-again star gazer that I am is very satisfied of this very good investment.

The eyepieces are of good quality, though the Barlow is a bit on the dark side. The 4mm eyepiece that comes with the set will be seldom used, as most scopes of less than 12", will not handle the magnification. The quality of the filters is outstanding, and come with an instruction sheet on which filters are used for various viewing preferences. The case is of excellent quality, comes with locks and keys so you can secure your eyepieces. Be aware if your collumation is off, these eyepieces will exaggerate poor collumation.I tested the eyepieces looking at trees over a half mile away during the day, and using an 8" Newt, was able to discern nobs on pine cones. The images were clear, but not as bright as televue eyepieces would be. In the evening, I viewed Jupiter, and a few of the messier catalog galaxies/nebulas, and found the eyepieces to work pretty well. All in all, given the quality of the eyepieces, the price, and the extras (case, filters, barlow), you can't go wrong with this kit. On the negative side, the eyepieces will slightly darken your image, so don't expect televue, or nagler quality glass.

Before seeing this kit, I bought separately a 6mm Plossl and a 2X Barlow. Those two items are part of this kit, but they cost me more separately than the entire kit! Tried it out last night and was very pleased. The two original eyepieces that came with the scope plus the 5 included in the kit and the Barlow give me 14 different possible views of the sky, and the color filters should help pick up planetary details.

It was perfect having this kit to view Mars! I was able to come up with all sorts of combinations of eyepieces/filters to view some of the detail. It really made the polar ice cap stand out. You will not be disappointed with this kit. It is definately worth the money.

As has been mentioned before, you're not getting top of the line ep's here and would you expect to at this price? What you are getting though is a good selection of good quality ep's, this is a quick and easy way to fill out your accessory kit for cheap and to have a nice sturdy case to house them in. I've been using mine with my 10" Hardin dob and I have not regretted my purchase at all. The only negative to this kit was purchasing it though here, I placed an order and it was sitting unattended for 6 weeks. When I inquired if it would be shipped on the estimated ship date I was given a very vague answer that hinted at the date being unknown. I quickly cancelled the order and placed an order over at telescopesforless.com and only waited a week for the backorder to come in and be shipped out, for the same exact price as here. If you can get it through here or don't mind waiting a couple of months then do it, if you want to get to use your accessory kit I would recommend telescopesforless. - Eyepieces - Telescope - Telescope Accessories - Celestron'

Laptop Power Adapters - notebook power adapters, hp pavilion

Don't take it from me, take it from the 18+ customers who left reviews on HP's website on this product

[....]

almost exclusively 1 star reviews, and I didn't find this out until today when I went back to purchase my 3 replacement (so 4 in total) in the past year. Now i see that EVERYONE had the exact same problems. As the other reviewer said- the plug comes loose at the slightest tug for one thing. And if he had waited longer to review he might have noticed that the cord not being seated correctly eventually leads to the connector's seating becoming distressed to the point where the whole metal connector breaks off. After that- the adaptor is nothing but a paper weight.

I'm still looking for a quality replacement part for this, but havent found anything yet. This is only 1 of the several quality problems i've had with my HP laptop which I spent a lot of money on expecting good quality. Wont make that mistake again- I am no longer an HP customer. HP 90W Smart Pin Dongle AC Adapter (KG298AA)

I bought new item, but the seller sold / shipped used item. There was no packaing inside thr UPS box. And looking at the cord it's been used before, the wire was not even tied as usall new cord suppose to be. It was placed in the box with 2 docs from hp. It was false advertizing. Very disapointing seller.

The original adapter that came with the pc was damaged when my puppy chewed on it. When I ordered this adapter, it came with a dongal, which keeps falling out from even the slightest tug. Other than that, it works just as well, and now that my puppy is almost over his chewing, there should not be any problems.

The part I received didn't look like the picture. There is an additional connection in the wire before you reach the computer. It comes apart very easily. Also the connection with the computer doesn't seem to fit securely. At times it is in place, but not supplying power to the computer. I have noticed my screen dimming in and out of power save while I was working because the connection is so weak.

I bought this adapter to replace my original one that got severed. It serves its purpose very well. Unlike some of the other complaints I've read about the dongle being pulled out with the slightest of tugs, I have not had this problem. It plugs into my HP DV9000z laptop very snuggly. Quality product, and well worth the money savings. (Compared to buying from HP directly)

I always worry about buying something for my computer that is not from the manufactorer. However I will gave you the straight out on this product. I have a HP Pavillion dv6000. This power adapater works perfectly with my computer, no problems at all. This only thing is that the cord that plugs into your computer comes with an adapter so that it will fit into your pavillion dv6000. This adapater works fine, but it is extremely easy to fall out. If you move your computer while plugged, good possiblity unless you are careful that it will fall out. Other than that, the product works great and I am mostly satisfied.

The charger does work just as it is supposed to. It came as a genuine HP part and does charge the laptop. However the dongle, or part that plugs into the computer, just doesn't fit as well as the original charger did. With a slight move of the laptop, wire, or charger it will slide out a mm and that's enough for it to loose the connection and stop charging.

If you are on the move with your laptop and it doesn't sit on the desk for most of it's life I would recommend you look elsewhere. Otherwise it does a fine job at charging for a better than OEM price.

After the power adapter for my HP Pavillion dv2000 died, I was surprised to find that the manufacturer's replacement would cost me more than $60. I purchased this model instead, which to date has done the job superbly. It's light and portable, with three components-- the wall cord, which plugs into the power pack, which then connects to a short plug adapter. The company shipped two plugs, considering this product is compatible with a wide range of laptops--both of which worked, differing only slightly in size.

Overall, a good product for a good price, with well protected packaging and timely shipping.

I purchased this product from "First Tavas." Though I purchased and paid for a new product, it did not come in its original packaging and the (plain white) box contained none of the original package inserts. In addition, the cord itself is scratched and worn looking. Beware of this seller!

There are alot of 1 star reviews on here, however mine is a 5 star review! I had absolutely no problem with this adapter. The main concern everyone seems to have is in regards to the pin and dongle feature, however I was lucky enough not to need this feature. My computer required the larger/fatter pin. I am actually buying a second cord for back ups and emergencies. I am a little rough on my cords and typically go through several in a year , however this cord has lasted me some time, and I see absolutely no problems with it. If you need a 90W adapter with the standard pin, then this is definitely a great adapter. However I have used this charger in a computer that required the pin and can see why some were concerned, there is a tendency for the pin to bend if you are rough on the unit. However if you treat your laptop kindly or do not need the pin, this adapter is great. It is well constructed has an adequate length cord(comparing to aftermarket cords. Others may have complaints but I have nothing but positive things t say about this adapter, and I am a very picky person. Anything that can withstand my cord usage cant be that bad of a product, and anyone breaking the pin within the computer is not taking the care required when using a detachable pin. I will add the one problem I did see is the pin detaches easily when I used it in my other laptop. A great buy for anyone looking for a sturdy adapter( without the use of the pin). - Hp Laptop Charger - Notebook Power Adapters - Hp Pavilion - Hp Ac Adapter'

Fitness Gear - weight, exercise

I use mine for push-ups and pull-ups. I have found the weights relatively easy to put in and take out (snug fit but I wouldn't want it to baggy). I find the straps adjustable and the clips allow me to take on and off quickly. I am extremely satisfied and feel I got a my value for the money. Valeo WV40 40-Pound Weighted Vest

I purchased this weight vest to use during jogs, and it has served me quite well in this regard thus far. The vest consists of forty (twenty on the back, twenty on the front) bags of sand that weigh one pound each, for a total of forty pounds. The vest is secured to your body both by velcro, and buckles (the plastic kind that you'd find on a life vest). Getting the vest on is somewhat difficult the first time, and I would suggest loading the back twenty before you put it on, and then loading the front twenty once you've got it on. The only problem I have run into thus far with this vest is the lack of padding in the shoulder area, or to be more specific, the absence of padding. The only "padding" on the shoulders is a piece of what I'd assume is cardboard that is sandwiched between the two pieces of nylon. This leads to shoulder discomfort quite quickly, and the only solution I've come up with is to either sew foam padding into a t-shirt at the shoulders, or to the vest at the shoulders. I haven't done either at this point, but this simple step will save me a lot of discomfort. Why the manufacturer wouldn't have stuffed five cents worth of foam into the shoulders is beyond me, but it is a simple enough alteration to make.

The product information says that "one size fits most". I wear a mens XL, and there is plenty of extra room left in the straps. I'd say that anyone up to a mens XXL would probably fit into this vest. For those seeking lower weight to start, the bags can be removed, so this could easily be used as anything from a one to forty pound vest with ease while you work your way up. I've used this vest about ten times now, and I don't detect any sort of tearing or fraying at the joints, even though I'm using the full weight. If it weren't for the lack of padding in the shoulders, I'd have given this vest a 5/5 instead of the 4/5 it received from me. All things considered, I would recommend this vest to others.

I've been using the vest now for about 6 weeks and it's been great so far. I do however have some complaints.

The lowest strap, the "belt" seems to like to slip off on the right side when you use this to do any type of jumping exercise. I believe this to be that 1. it has a smaller section of velcro on it than the other side and 2. you used velcro to attach it in the first place.

I think the lowest strap should be attached like the rest or go through belt loops.. not held on by velcro. That's the only part that slips loose and then you have the bottom of the vest flopping around.

Also, on the back, I'm noticing that in one of the pouches the thread that sections off the pouches is already starting to come loose.

All in all it's a decent vest; it does its job. Just could use a redesign.

I love this vest. I wore this vest at 105 lbs on a very petite 5'1'' frame. This vest will tighten and fit anybody. the weight distributes so evenly. I have to say i miss being without it! I can't wait to get another one.

I've worn this vest when i was losing my preggo weight and used the vest to keep my weight 40 lbs heavier (so that it was easier to burn calories). Without it, i burned almost nothing. I contribute all of my weight loss and very successful conditioning to this vest.

This vest is absolutely solid.

Pros:

- Holds tight against your body.

- Very solid build that can take real abuse.

Cons:

- Slimmer people might find it a little loose on the bottom.

- Weighted packs are really snug. This can be both a pro and a con. Snug means they won't move around when running, jumping, etc., but it also means they'll be difficult to get in, which is something you want to plan for before your workout

- Netted construction WILL tear up your underarm when doing dips (if you do them quickly). I resolved this by putting a t-shirt over it when doing my workouts.

This vest was a gift to me from my wife. I find the single PRO of solid construction far outweighs all the CONS since you can work around them with a little planning. Solid construction means you're going to have a vest that you can can withstand some real abuse, like sliding on the ground, and being tossed around everytime you remove it, and you KNOW it won't fall apart... something I've seen other vests crumble on

All in all, a great vest. I highly recommend this over others

So here we go:

I have a medium to large frame, I am 6'1" and weigh 209lbs. I have to put the vest on fairly tight (I dislike it when it moves around and this seems to be the only way to work) however I have to balance this with my ability to breathe in it.

This is the first weight vest I have bought, and I really enjoy it.

I enjoy having the choice to put the weights all over my chest and back and some on shoulders where I want to. If I have empty pouches, I can put my keys and gu and such in them.

Right now I am at 20 lbs running 5 mi around 8:30/mi pace and this works for me.

I could see how someone that has a very thin body or is on the small side in general would not like this product as I have fairly tightened to get it to stay still on my body and bounce minimally. If you are larger than me, this will work for you as the vest has plenty of room to expand; in fact I think a weight vest will help you shed pounds even faster. I personally bought this product because I am at fitness level with my body fat and have plateaued in terms of weight loss (I lost more when I was heavier).

Seem to be of good quality, however I dislike how the loose straps dangle and fly. Otherwise, no complaints. - Fitness Gear - Exercise - Valeo - Weight'

Computer Cooling - computer fans, case fans

As the other reviewer describes it, these fans do a really good job moving air out but it's loud.

My experiences:

- Bright LEDs. I bought these fans knowing it would be for style. My Cooler master HAF 912 has two fan slots on the top of the case and it looks great.

- Good air circulation. The two fans move air extremely well and may take off 3 or so Celsius from both the motherboard and processor.

- Loud. As I've mentioned, these things are loud. With just two of the stock fans, and CPU cooler my computer is quiet but these two monsters make the computer sound like an engine. You may think of it as a good or bad thing.

Overall, good pricing and performance, just consider the noise level. Thermaltake Thunderblade 120 mm 4Led Case Fan 3 and 4 Pin AF0031 (Green)

The title says it all. The positives are that they are a nice bright green and move a lot of air. The downside is that they are loud. I ordered two of them. Time to order a fan controller. Otherwise, they make too much noise. - 120mm - Cooling - Case Fans - Computer Fans'

120hz

I did a lot of research before deciding on this Samsung. I paired it with Google TV (using Logitech Revue), and NOW everything works like a charm, but neither the three salesmen I spoke with at Best Buy, nor the installers from Best Buy, nor any of the previous reviews I read informed me that you can't access the Internet with this TV UNLESS you also buy the Samsung LAN Adapter. Not a big deal (it's about $80), but that would have been nice to know before I spent several hours wondering why my Internet-accessible TV was not accessing the Internet. Samsung LN40D550 40-Inch 1080p 60Hz LCD HDTV (Black)

I purchased this TV for an elderly family member who's 2 year old 42" Dynex took a dump.

The Samsung is much more aesthetically pleasing and the picture quality is definitely more crisp and clear than her old Dynex.

The TV is extremely easy to set up...all you need is a #2 philips screwdriver and maybe an additional person to lift the TV and place it on the base.

For 2011, Samsung redesigned the remote control and the buttons are much easier to use (compared to the 2010 models). The remote is extremely long and odd shaped, but it fits comfortably in my hand.

Menu options are plentiful which makes the customization process a breeze. Samsung's definitely have the most options from what I have seen.

All in all, this is a nice TV and should be more than sufficient for what it is being used for.

I have purchased this TV for $629 at Wallmart, so I did not have high expectation, though I did chose Samsung, because I generally like their displays.

I am really impressed by the quality of this product. Everything is great. There are lots of options to tweak, the colors are amazing, the sound is very, very good for this quite thin TV, there are lots of input (4 hdmi, 2 USB, 2 components, etc...), have nice energy saving options, and even 480i looks much nicer than on other LCDs I have tested. I honestly did not expect this for $629.

The only possible issues are:

1) The black becomes dark blue if viewed from the angle. This is common problem for LCDs, and I think that as LCD TV goes, it is very minor effect (it is very even dark blue background, noticeable when you view TV at around 30 degree of axis), but some other TVs (like plasma or projection TVs) do not have it by design.

2) While piano black design is very nice to look at, if you have source of light behind you, you will see some reflection from the edge of the screen, which may be a bit destructing. True, though, if you watch TV, you should not have sources of light behind you anyway, still, this may be a small factor on your choice of the TV.

3) This is 60Hz model, so, for fast moving images this is not the best TV (consider 120Hz ones, but it costs $$)

That's it! The negatives did not cost a star, so 5 stars for TV this price.

The rest are all positives! Samsung really does it quite well with this TV.'
