New Zealand - travel gear, electrical

I bought a couple of these adaptors for a recent trip to China and couldn't be happier.

Features:

1. Converts almost any power plug to the Type I plug common in China and Australia. [I believe the only exception is the Type M used in South Africa and a few other exotic locations].

2. Accepts grounded (three prong) and non-grounded (two-prong) plugs.

3. The Type I "male" side of the plug includes the ground connection.

4. Solid construction--very well built.

Some notes if you travel 'abroad':

1. These adaptors will only bridge the physical connection between your power cable and the wall outlet. They do not perform voltage conversion. Before using, make sure that whatever you are plugging in will accommodate the local voltage. The US is 120 Volts @ 60 Hz --most of the world is 220-240 Volts @ 50 Hz.

2. Some applicances will require a voltage transformer--which is another product altogether (usually higher wattage devices like hair blowers and soldering irons--but your mileage may vary). Always check the limitations of your devices--the requirements (voltage and frequency) are generally labeled adjacent to the power cord or plug. This is true for laptops, cell phone chargers, electric razors, etc.

3. Always use the 3-prong (grounded connectors). They are safer than the two-prong types and tend to be much better built. I have had the two-prong adaptors disintegrate on me -- leaving the disembodied, bare metal blades stuck in the outlet. Yikes! That's why I love this adapter--very well built.

Happy travels! VCT VP 103 - Universal Plug Adapter For Australia / New Zealand / China / Argentina

We couldn't be happier with this simple product. Worked perfectly with no problems on our US electronics while we were in Australia. The image is exactly what you get and the alignment of the plug inputs is perfect. The shipping was fast via USPS and included a receipt. We saw similar adapters with fewer plug options available for $15+ AU making this a great value and definitely worth buying in advance. If you are traveling from the US you will find one of these gizmos mandatory if you want to charge your camera or computer.

This adapter plug has performed flawlessly. I have standard North American plugs, and this adapts them--and others nationalities' plugs--to New Zealand style plugs. The devices I am using (computer, Camera battery charger) are set up to use the 240V current over here, so a 240 to 120V converter is not necessary.

The quality and workmanship of the unit, although not fancy, is top notch and solid. Don't let the low price fool you; this unit is "the bee's knees", as they say.

WELL WORTH THE MONEY!

My daughters just returned on a trip to Argentina. The converter worked perfectly at every hotel they stayed. They journeyed all over the country and found no difficulties at any time. Great to recharge batteries and electronic devices!

I bought one of these plug adapters plus several cheaper two-prong adapters for New Zealand. This is the only adapter that would make my Nikon Coolpix battery charger work. It is a bit bulky, but it stayed in the wall sockets really well.

If you are traveling down-under (Australia or New Zealand) and you are taking 2 or 3 pronged US plugs with you, such as a laptop, or phone charger, you will find that these adapters work perfectly. These are just ADAPTERS, not voltage converters, so if your electric device only works with 110 volts, you will need a converter to convert the Aussie 230 volts down to 110 volts (US)

As long as your devices can run on 120/220 (and most gadgets can these days, thank gawd), you're good to go.

I got one of these, a power strip to plug into it, and was able to keep my tablet, laptop, phone, and camera happily charged for a week in Australia. Just check all your chargers to make sure they can handle 220.

We used this adapter plug on our recent trip to New Zealand. It worked great, we had no problems. Used it to charge all of our electronic equipment, laptop, cell phones and cameras. A great bargain for the money. - Electrical - Travel Adapter - Power Plug Adapter - Travel Gear'

Door Stopper - door stopper, door lock

I read all the reviews before I tried this product. I am very concerned and picky shopper. I thought I would give this a try. I believe the key to this product is the flooring you are using this on. The foot on the lock works excellent on title or wood. I would not recommend this product on carpet.

One key point to remember...the farther away you have the base from the door the less strength it has. Try to get it between 70 degrees and 80 degrees. I was able to knock it out of place at 50 and 60. I normally do not worry about safety; however, I am a heavy sleeper. I can fend for myself but I have to hear it first. Let me know if you found this helpful! Master Lock 265DCCSEN Dual-Function Security Bar

With all the hype about bump keys (which basically renders most locks useless), I tried to think of something that can counter it. So far, this is the only thing that I can find short of buying a top of the line lock for a $80 - $200.

[Pro]

It's moderately effective with a low price.

It's lightweight and portable. You can bring it on trips.

It's versatile (it's adjustable and can be used on any door that swings inward and sliding doors)

This will slow down potential intruders, potentially either buying you precious extra time or alerting you.

You can use it as a makeshift bat if needed.

It has better quality than similar competitors.

[Cons]

It only slows down a potential intruder. It won't stop them. This device is common enough for them to think of ways of countering it.

The top piece that hooks into the door knob is made of cheap plastic. It will eventually break. Check it often.

The device does what is suppose to. If someone wanted to break in the front door of our apartment they would have to kick it down... and we would actually hear it.

We were more afraid of someone "sneaking" in the place, rather than breaking in.

When it is stretched out to the fullest it seems a little flimsy.

An Added bonus is that it also works as a door stopper to hold the front door open.

The silver button that locks the bar length in place slips out of the hole VERY easily, allowing the bar to collapse. I tested this bar by simply leaning with my full weight (220 lbs) on the outside of the door, and the button gave way, allowing the door to open freely. This little button BARELY makes it through the hole on the bar. Rather than return this thing, I am going to use my drill to make some modifications, and use another metal pin to lock the bar in place. Also, the foot of this thing slips pretty easily, even when moistened and pressed against a high-friction floor.

Master Lock should be very ashamed of this piece of garbage. It will negatively influence my future security purchases.

This security bar is very easy to use and a good alternative for providing additional protection. There are questions about how it's installed and its width - this is from the package:

* This security bar adjusts to fit most sliding and hinged doors

* Simple push button adjustment. No tools required.

* High strength steel tube (20-gauge)

* Portable, collapsible to fit most suitcases (**I wouldn't try to bring it inside a carry on**)

* Ideal for home or apartment (entry doors, interior doors for privacy, garage access doors), student dorms and travel

* Limited lifetime guarantee (see your store for details) (**Not sure what it means but keep the receipt**)

For use with hinged doors:

* Non-marring yoke designed to work with most types of door hardware. Can be removed for use with sliding glass doors.

* Pivoting ball joint (assures full contact with the floor)

* Padded foot provides sure grip on most floor surfaces and protects against finish damage.

* For hinged door, adjusts from 30" to 44.5"

* Should not be placed on loose rugs or floor mats

* To install, adjust bar length so padded base is 15-18 inches from bottom of door when yoke end is placed firmly under door knob

* Adjust length by rotating tube until silver button pops up

* Place yoke end tightly against the underside of the knob

* Slide padded base of security bar toward door until snug

For use with sliding glass doors

* Remove non-marrying yoke from end of security bar

* Adjust bar length to fit in the sliding door track

* Allow enough slack to remove the security bar quickly

* For sliding door, adjusts from 27.5" to 42"

For childproofing purposes, a Charley bar is better. If you don't have one, this bar may be better than the typical broomstick but you could consider placing an additional sliding glass door lock on top in case your child figures out how to lift it off the track (not too hard as it's not pressure fitted). In this regard, the Master Lock 251D which had a pressure lever was superior, as it could be wedged firmly high up, out of reach of children.

This is just what I was looking for. A little extra security for my front door. We have tile in the entry way, and when in place it is very secure. To test it out I have tried to open the door with a lot of force, with it in place. It kept the door closed and secure. It is very easy to assemble, adjust and use. Several of my family members have purchased it and love it also. Would buy again.

I am so glad I puchased this security bar. I learned the hard way how well it worked. The first weekend I used it I locked myself out (went out of the garage door and did not have my garage opener with me) and had to climb in through the balcony. The security would not budge and the small opening that was available when we unlocked the door with the key was not large enough to poke anything through to try and dislodge it. This is a great buy in order to get some security. An intruder would literally have to break down the door or break the glass (if you have it on your door) to get in. - Door Stopper - Door Lock - Charlie Bar - Home Security'

Good Value - inversion, spine

For the money you just can't beat this table. I looked at several others offered on Amazon and it seemed to me the price and other reviews for this model were strong so I ordered it; I'm really glad I did.

It arrived almost two weeks before promised, it was packed well and the box was easy to open. The assembly was simple with easy to follow excellent illustrations - (and believe me I'm not very handy) - and I found all of the parts to be sturdy and fit together seamlessly.

I had previously tried another model at the sporting goods store by I found the ankle attachment much less hard on me on this one. I really couldn't be happier and if you compare it to other models the price and workmanship are flat out excellent.

The only thing I would recommend you do is get on Youtube and watch some video's to get a sense of how to use it in advance; since it does not come with a video that will be a must. The instructions in the manual are well written but you really should watch someone using a table before you tackle it; and do not try it alone at first!!!

I've only used it a couple of days but I'm amazed that most of my morning back pain (that I've had for years now) has gone away!! It is really an amazing thing! Weslo Inversion Flex System

The delivery people left this on my driveway with the box partially opened and didn't ring the bell. I was tempted to remove a star for this but delivery problems could happen with anything. I thought for sure something would be missing but I am happy to say it was all there and in good condition!

I received the Welso inversion table this morning and put it together in less than 30 minutes. The instructions weren't great but I managed. Make sure you have a socket wrench! The reviews on this table said assembly was easy and it was, the reason I bought this over the Marcy brand. The basic frame is already assembled, all you do is unfold it. That is a huge improvement over Marcy and some others with up to 40 parts to assemble. I also considered buying the teeter model for 3 times the price. I am glad I didn't. This is inverting me easily and it was a relative bargain.

A minute after assembly, I set to my height 6'3" and inverted for the first time. I was immediately in perfect balance and able to adjust my position with the slight movement of my arms. By the way, for me inverting is not a great feeling and I am not going to be spending days on end on this thing. But 3 minutes at a somewhat less than 180 degree tilt and my back feels great. My stomach, not so much as I got a little motion sickness being upside down. Probably just me but I thought worth mentioning.

This machine will fully invert with the removal of the safety chain or replacing with a longer chain, some tables don't. But frankly, I don't need to fully invert to get the stretch I need. The ankle pads are heavy and probably as thick and comfortable as you could get on any machine. But the weight of your body all on your ankles takes some getting used to.

The overall quality of the table is excellent. It is solid, well made and everything fits. There have been comments about the metal support bar being uncomfortable on the lower back. Having used the table I didn't notice the bar was there.

As for portability, I don't think I would buy any inversion table if space was an issue. I have a basement and lots of space but if I had to lug this around, fold-unfold, I think it would be an eyesore and more trouble than its worth.

Another reviewer recommended watching "how-to" video's on Youtube. This is good advice before using the table!

Why spend more on an inversion table when the quality is top notch and the price is right? Highly recommended.

Update: 8-23-2010 I am using the table 3 times a day, 2-3 minutes at a time. My ankles quickly got used to the table and I can invert with little discomfort. Also, My back has gotten accustomed to inverting and I believe my posture is improving as well as relieving stress in my back. This might be the best thing I ever bought. Update to follow in a few weeks.

I use this twice a day for 10-15 minutes and find it very relaxing. The thing I have noticed the most is that it really improves your flexibility. You feel the stretching mostly in your lower back. I would have given it a 5 star if it wasn't slightly uncomfortable for your feet. I have noticed however the more I use it the more comfortable it is becoming.

The Weslo inversion table has been a great purchase. A couple of notes on the table: I have an athletic build and weigh 235 at 6'1". I found that I had to set the actual height of the table to 6'3" to get the correct balance on the table. The table is very sturdy and comfortable to use. The only criticism I have is the quality of the footpads. I tested other tables before making this purchase and there are other tables out there with much more comfortable foot and ankle padding. However, for the price I cannot say that I would purchase another/different table as I have found all other aspects of the table to be fantastic. I have been using this table every day since the purchase and I have found my back pain minimized. If you have back pain and are looking for a cost effective device to help minimize/alleviate muscle pain I would highly recommend that you consider purchasing an inversion table. - Back Pain Relief - Good Value - Inversion - Spine'

Ebook Reader - warranty, service

I purchased the square trade warranty for my PSP due to the fact I had trouble with the first one I bought. It had a warranty through Sears and that warranty sucked!!! I again had trouble with the new PSP but the warranty through square trade was wonderful. It was so easy to return the product to them and get a refund for the entire price of the PSP. When it was all said and done I had my refund in 2 weeks with not a bit of hastle. I could not have been happier with their customer service and with the entire process really. I will definately purchase the square trade warranty again when I buy a new PSP. I already have 4 other products that I have purchased the square trade warranty for. They are the most reasonably priced warranty out there with the best service. Take my advice and buy their warranty for everything you purchase that needs a warranty. You will not be disappointed!!!! SquareTrade 3-Year Electronics Warranty Plus Accident Protection (Electronics $125-150)

I purchased a SquareTrade warranty for my Kindle, after the timeframe had expired on getting the Amazon warranty. The warranty included coverage for drops, which was not covered in the other options I looked into. Just under a year after I got my Kindle, it slipped out of my hands on my way outside and the screen cracked! Immediately I went online and looked into the warranty information and submitted my receipt. I quickly received a confirmation that my full purchase price would be reimbursed and a pre-paid shipping label. I opted for a Amazon gift certificate and got an extra 5% back, which appeared in my account less than a week after I sent in my broken Kindle. I now have a brand new Kindle 3 (upgraded from my Kindle 2) and extra money in my Amazon account for future purchases. I immediately purchased another warranty for my new Kindle - highly recommended!

When my GPS device stopped working, I contacted SquareTrade. They handled the warranty exactly as it should be done. They made the return and refund process easy and did it very promptly. I will use them again and am comfortable recommending them.

I purchased the 3 year accidental Kindle insurance from SquareTrade when I bought my Kindle 2. The purchasing process was really seamless. You select what you purchased (Kindle), when you purchased the item, from where, and upload the receipt (optional). I did upload my receipt for faster processing if I should ever have to claim. My review is going to be mainly about the claim process. First, my battery died about a year and half into the warranty. That means Amazon won't be able to replace it for free. I called SquareTrade and they emailed me a prepaid shipping label to send it out to be replaced. A couple months later, the battery experienced the same problem, which was to very quickly drain. Also at this time, I accidentally dropped my Kindle. Please note, my Kindle was readable, but having an opening at the top of my Kindle was something I was concerned about. I called Square Trade right away and I spoke with Brett. I don't know the reason, but I was unable to request my claim on online. Anyway, I spoke with Brett and explained the situation. He immediately said they will refund me the purchase price minus the battery exchange fee, which was around $100. I explained that was not really fair as they didn't actually repair the battery. He agreed and refunded the complete amount. Square Trade gives you three options for refund: 1. snail mail check 2. Amazon gift card (fast) 3. Pay Pal (fast). Brett explained to me the fastest is the Paypal and the Amazon gift card option. I selected the Amazon gift card because I planned to purchase another Kindle right away. The Amazon gift card option was fantastic because they give you an extra 5% on top of the refund. I didn't know this at the time I selected this option. Brett emailed me the shipping label to send my Kindle in about 10 minutes. I packed everything and shipped my Kindle off. Two days later, I received an email from Amazon stating that SquareTrade has sent me a gift card. However upon closer inspection, I noticed that SquareTrade did indeed subtract the cost of replacing the battery even though they promised they will refund me the full amount. I called SquareTrade again and spoke with another representative. I explained the situation and he was sympathetic and spoke with his supervisor. After about 10 minutes of consultation, they agreed since they did promise to give me the refund, they will send me the remaining balance in the mail. I was not given the option to receive the Amazon gift card again.

To make this long story really long, I have to say, the customer service is professional and sympathetic. They take the time to hear your story and make the best decision they can. I have and will continue to purchase warranty from them.

My year-old Ipod just stopped working just after Christmas. It just died quietly in its sleep. I was listening to it one day and the next day it was dead. I tried all the usual tricks, resetting, reenergizing, etc.) but was unsuccessful. I called Square Trade and the same day they mailed me a label. I packaged up said Ipod carefully and sent it UPS. The following day I had a credit posted to my Amazon account (my choice), ordered a new one, and two days later, had my new Ipod. They gave me a full refund on the Ipod with no other questions. The speed with which they do business is remarkable. I have waited longer in line at customer service booths (maybe just a slight exaggeration)in stores here in town. I was astounded. I promptly insured my new Ipod with Square Trade and will do business with them again. I already have my Kindle under Square Trade warranty. Campbell Hausfeld - staplers, finish staplers

Questionable quality. I've had the gun just over a month and found it easy to use, lightweight, nice balance. I was fairly impressed. Then it just quit working, I'm guessing a seal ruptured somewhere inside b/c it just leaks instead of firing.

If I could get hold of someone at customer service I would find out what is wrong for sure, but they don't answer the phone, even during their limited office hours, and seemingly don't respond to their email. I'm sure it's still under warranty, but probably won't be by the time I finally get hold of someone.

UPDATE:

The leak was apparently the result of a seal getting dry on the shelf and coming unseated. It was a quick DIY fix. Since then, I've been using it regularly without any problems or complaints. I'd change the rating to a 4* if I could. Campbell Hausfeld 3/8-Inch to 1-1/4-Inch 18-Gauge Narrow Crown Air Powered Stapler: Model CHN10399

The Campbell-Hausfield air stapler arrived in perfect condition and works

like is supposed to do. I could not ask for a better product or at better price

James

Campbell Hausfeld CHN10399AV 3/8-Inch to 1-1/4-Inch 18 Gauge Narrow Crown StaplerExcellent product! Performs very reliably - jams infrequently to not-at-all. Would recommend this stapler on a par with any of the more "popular" brands.

This Little beauty is way more than I expected. I've only had it a short time but it is seemingly well made, performs very well and has features like the depth adjustment for the amount of penetration into the wood, which allows for proper use on both soft and hardwoods, and a very ergonomic soft grip handle. I highly recommend it. I don't think that, for the price, it can be beat.

I am very pleased with this product. I used it very easily for installing carpet cove base on a remodeling project. Now that I have it , I have found many other uses for it. The product is good and the price was right. I reccommend. Edw.J.

This tool will serve it's purpose so long as you are willing to compromise quality for value. I already own a Stanley/Bostitch framing nailer, a DeWalt 15 gauge finish nailer, a Porter Cable 18 gauge brad nailer, and a Bostitch 23 ga. pinner, so I have some basis for comparison. I was disappointed with the Campbell Hausfeld in the following respects, even considering that it's a third the cost of the competition:

1. The case is flimsier plastic than the Porter Cable or DeWalt cases. When pressing the three allen wrenches to get them back in their special slots, the entire case lining compresses as if it were no thicker than a soda bottle. The gun does not quite fit down in the molded recess made for it. All hard cases are a problem in that there is not much room for fasteners, but the box of 1-1/4" staples that came with this one does fit inside.

2. There are no stampings on the tool. There is no serial number. The model number and "date codes" appear on adhesive labels that are applied after the fact, suggesting that perhaps this tool came off the line some factory in China that puts out no-name tools for several buyers to use their own name plates. Campbell Hausfeld does not list this model on their Web site.

3. The bottle of pneumatic oil that came in the case is extremely flimsy, and the top flew off when I tried to squeeze a few drops from the bottle (even after poking a hole in the nipple) sending 30 wt oil splashing across my workshop.

4. The depth of drive adjustment had to be set to it's maximum limit, and even at that not all of the staples were driven flush when driving the 1-1/4" staples that came with the tool through 1/4" birch plywood into 5/4 poplar. With a healthy 80 or 90 PSI from the compressor's regulator, all my other pneumatic fastening tools would countersink the fastener and the depth adjustment has to be backed away from it's maximum position.

5. The staples that came with the tool do not bear any brand name and do not appear to be galvanized like other brands.

6. The tool leaks air from around the trigger during and after it fires, which may be a cause of the power problem in #4. Unless CH will send out a new 0-ring repair kit I intend to return this tool.

On the plus side, it did come with a fitting for the air hose which is worth maybe $2.

While I was expecting a reasonably good tool, I was a bit surprised with the overall high quality of the tool. I believe it would win in a head to head competition with most of its more expensive competitors. - Staplers - Finish Staplers'

Patio Furniture - outdoor furniture, patio furniture

Ordered the whole set, bench, table and chairs. Very attractive and good quality for the price. The only issue I had was that when it got wet the color ran and stained the new brick patio we just had built. Got the stain out with a special cleaner I had to buy for $25 a gallon. Solved the problem with a coat of wipe on poly but it should have come with some kind of sealer in my opinion. Strathwood Gibranta All-Weather Hardwood 2-Seater Bench

For $99 it is a great deal BUT it came with a crack in the wood in the arm and splintered wood on the inside of both arms. The box looked like it had been drop kicked from the factory & the foam they used to pack it was so low in quality that it was frittering from the impact of the damage and "snowed" all over our front porch when opened. It seems reasonably sturdy to sit on and was not hard to assemble. It sits low without the cushion, so keep that in mind if you plan to go without the cushion. Attractive for the price, but not nearly as nice as our $350 bench.

We just bought this bench for our patio. It was very simple to put together (only 4 pieces), the instructions good and design simple. It's sturdy and we love how it looks. The only reason I wouldn't give it 5 stars is because the measurements in the product description are misleading. The height and length are spot on but the depth is listed at 30. I was presuming that the seat depth was close to that but it's not even 20 inches deep. I was hoping to put thick cushions on the back and have it be much deeper. I'm disapointed with that but love the overall product otherwise. We also couldn't figure out how to attach the back cushions.

finally received this today after being back ordered and first piece i pulled out was cracked. the coffee table that goes with this set was cracked when received and we have gone through three of those and are done with this company. we will be returning the two matching chairs that are the only things we received not broken. good luck to you

I needed some outdoor benches for an enclosed porch area and these fit my needs perfectly. They are economically and asthetically palatable. You can easily pay 4 times more for something similar online. The finish is rich just like the pics; It is pretty sturdy at only 30 lbs. per bench, and the attachable cushions provide adequate comfort and are made to unzip so you can wash them. The installation was very easy. It took us probably 15 minutes for each bench but 1 person can put it together. The only gripe I have is the 2 back-seat cushions attach with velcro, but the straps don't reach far enough to connect to each other. I had to buy some velcro strips, stick them onto the back of the bench, and attach the cushions on those velcro strips on the bench. The quick-fix works fine but I don't think that's how it was intended to attach. Only time will tell me how long the finish and sturdiness will last, but I'm happy with the purchase.

We purchased this bench along with the matching table and chairs. The packaging came intact, and we didn't have a hard time putting any pieces together. They have stood up to a pretty rainy summer outdoors. I would recommend not keeping the cushions on them all the time. The casing is very hard to wash, and white shows everything. Overall, a good bench at a good price.

When we ordered this bench, we also ordered the coffee table and two chairs for a great deck set. They were shipped SO quickly. I was very happy with how easy it was to put together and it looks gorgeous on the deck! We have had so many compliments on the set and people asking where they can purchase it themselves. I would recommend these items to anyone!

We purchased this bench with the two matching chairs, and are very pleased!

Pros:

SUPER easy to assemble (two adults, one on crutches, less than an hour for both chairs and a bench with the "help" of an energetic 2 yr old.)

Looks a lot more expensive than it was!

Cons:

The cushions are thin, and won't be comfortable for long periods on the patio, but that's an easy fix.

The back cushions are.. odd. The cushion itself is big enough to cover all of the rails, but the velcro attachment is short so that it only really covers about four slats. This forces you to squish some of the cushion through the slats to fully fasten the back cushions.

The fabric the cushions are covered in.. I wouldn't leave it out exposed to the elements... Be prepared to either replace it, launder it (a lot), or bring them in each evening.

Although several reviewers mentioned cracked or split wood, we didn't have this problem. We have Prime and opted for the one day shipping, and think the reduced time in transit might have helped keep things safe. All in all we are very happy with the purchase and are considering the matching chaise.

This bench is very cool, and pretty sturdy, but I am so confused! There is no way for the back cushions to attach to the bench! Each cushion has two small flaps with velcro but they reach about 6"-8" apart, so they dont even come close to attaching, therefore the top cushions have no way of staying on...if anyone has any suggestions for this problem please let me know: HEMAY42@HOTMAIL.COM...Thanks!

I bought the whole set (2 chairs table and love seat) I love the look of it. It was the best price I could find for anything like this. Over all I'm happy with it, but there was some issues (You get what you pay for) Every piece had at least one issue with the hardware or milling. I ended up having to drill out holes because they were not deep enough, use my own screws because the female holes were not threaded to accept the bolts it came with etc. Nothing major if your handy, but still frustrating. I also found the assembly very awkward. I would suggest using a screw gun for the screws that secure the seat back to bottom, there are no pre drilled holes in the bottom and doing it by hand is useless.

Once assembled they are very sturdy and the quality seems good. I have had it outside with the cushions for about a month and they seem to be pretty resistant to staining. They are also removable which is great.

I get compliments on the set from everyone who sees it, and they are all shocked when I tell them how much I paid for it. - Patio Furniture - Outdoor Furniture - Chaise Lounge - Chaise'

Carhartt - carhartt

This is a really nice high quality belt. I am more impressed with this line then I have been with some of the other name brands. You just really can't go wrong with Carhartt. Great for working as it seems to be more of a heavy duty type style. Carhartt Men's Journeyman Belt,Black,36

Size appears to be accurate. Quite durable, single chunk of leather style of construction.

Only warning is that this belt is on the wide side. It is listed as 1.5" (I think) and that is accurate, but it is on the beefy side of that. Other belts tend to be on the smaller side. Notably, I wear Dickies traditional work pants, and this just barely fits through the loops. OTOH it is perfect with jeans, and just right with Sears work pants.

Sizing is wrong. I got a belt labeled 46 (as ordered); but it's actually 47 1/2 -- measured from the middle (of five) holes to the point on the buckle where the prong lays on the frame. The five holes are an inch apart between 45 1/2 and 49 1/2 inches of length. Belt seems sturdy and flexible. Haven't worn it yet. May return it because of the sizing defect. Made in China BTW.

My husband is tough on his clothes. He wears out jeans, socks and belts very quickly. He always wears out the notches in his belts to where the belt pretty much breaks in half. However, this Carhartt belt has lasted a long time and is still in great shape. Over the past two years, I have just about replaced his entire closet with Carhartt-brand clothes. Definitely worth the money!

When I ordered this belt, all I wanted was a durable, no frills belt. That is what I got. Good quality and very plain. My only complaint is that, when ordering, I was instructed to order one size larger than my waist size. I wear a 36-38 waist, depending on brand, so I ordered a 40 belt. I had to add 2 holes to the belt for it to fit comfortably. I think, had I ordered the 38 I would have just made it. Otherwise, I would buy this belt again (in the proper size).

We bought this basic belt a size larger so that it could be used for a costume for the groom. It's a very sturdy belt... It's true to size as we needed it to hang down (that's why the extra size) and support a real sword, scabbord and frog(that's the part that holds the sword to the belt). It worked great! Very sturdy!

I like these belts. This is the 2nd one that I purchased because I have been losing weight and wanted a smaller one. The leather seems a little thin to me, but it holds up well and looks good. The ones that I've ordered seem to be sized for your waist. Example: size 42 jeans need a size 42 belt. I recommend them.

This belt is great. Finally a great belt that is made well and rugged. My husband is a sheperd and needs a belt that can stand up to abuse. This belt appears to be one solid piece of leather and not just a thin piece glued on to cloth.

Bought the belt and it looked great but after wearing it for a month the leather started splitting apart. Now it looks like my dog has been chewing on it - and he is innocent. Next time I get a Filson as I expect my belts to outlast me.

The belt looked good out of the box. It was a little too wide to fit easily through the loops of my dickie work pants. Took me 2-3 minutes to put the belt on because of this. But the real kicker was that I ran into the same problem as another reviewer on here. The 2nd time I went to cinch and buckle the belt (1st day wearing it), the belt buckle popped off in my hand. I wouldn't recommend this purchase. - Carhartt'
