I have a Motorola V-190 GSM quadband unlocked cell phone that I use to travel around the US and abroad. It's very convenient when you arrive at a foriegn airport to pick up a sim card at a kiosk,
insert it into your cell have a local number as long as you're there.
In the US I have been using T-mobile as my local carrier. I've found T-mobile service better than that of AT&T. However, since T-mobile's coverage in rural areas is pretty dismal, I decided to switch to AT&T.
I ordered the AT&T Sim Card SKU 71234 offered here, and it was delivered in three days (good job OEM Shop). I logged into the AT&T sim registration site and registered the sim card (free). You need to give them the sim card # (20 digits starting with 89...) and your cell phones IMEI # (located in you cell phone under the battery). After taking your name and address the site gives you a new phone number.
On the same site AT&T gives you a chance to pick a service plan and to add some minutes to your phone.
I picked the simplest plan ($0.10 a minute) for the least amount (150 minutes) until I could try out the coverage to see if I liked it. So I had a working phone for the investment of about 30 minutes of my time and less than $20. Easy and cheap, just how I like it. AT&T Sim Card Brand New Unactivated
The local AT&T store wanted $25 for a SIM card, plus they told me that the only plan available with their $25 SIM card would cost 25 cents per minute. No thanks! I found this one on Amazon, ordered it and received it within 2 days. It worked just fine, and upon activation was able to get the 10 cent per minute and $1 per day when used plan. Well worth the $5 I paid for the card even if some people say that you can get a SIM card for free from AT&T - I never figured out how to get a free one and it was worth $5 not to have to worry about figuring it out. Would definitely buy this again.
I am a foreign tourist visiting the US. I asked AT&T (chat support) if my unlocked HP 510 Voice Messenger would work with a SIM card purchased at Amazon's. They said that I could use my phone but "... you have to purchase a SIM card from an AT&T dealer..." However, I decided to purchase this very inexpensive SIM card, which arrived within 7 days (standard shipping). Went to GoPhone's page to activate it; they asked for my device's IMEI number (typed *#06# in the phone) and my new SIM card's serial number. Then typed some personal info required by AT&T, and finally purchased a $15 refill. Voila! Worked great!
I had just bought an iphone 3gs with 4.0.2 software from a friend an i wanted to make it prepaid so i ordered the sim card and it arrived in less than a week.
Then I activated it from the at&t website like if i was activating a gophone and used the IMEI number from my old at&t phone because you cant use the iphone's IMEI or else it wont work but you can use the IMEI from any at&t phone. Then when it gave me my phone number I inserted it in the phone and it had service. All there was left was getting a gophone refill card and there it was a prepaid iphone 3gs very easy.
Here's the link to activate it. [...]
The sim card worked as it should, no problems. It did take 5 business days for delivery, (I would have paid extra to expedite delivery had the option been offered.) OEM should add the AT&T online account activation number to their site. I called AT&T directly and was told the sim card I received would not work, and that I needed one from them in order to activate the phone. I began browsing another site which sold sim cards on Amazon, and found the direct number I could call to activate my phone. In case someone needs the number in the future it's: 1-877-426-0525. Taking the time to find this saved me $25, which was the cost of the sim card that AT&T said that I HAD to have.
I have a phone with dual sim card slots which allows me to access two networks or the ability to have two lines on one network. I'm already with T-Mobile but unfortunately, I can't get signal in certain areas of my house and other areas where I live, so I figured I'd give AT&T a try. I have to say this was definitely a deal that I could NOT pass up. Seller shipped items very quickly & I am pleased to say that, I now have coverage through my entire house...even in Walmart, which I did not have before. My mother-in-law was so wowed by the price that she asked me to order two more for her and her mom. I am a very satisfied customer.
ATT store tried to charge me $25 for a sim card. Found this item online and paid less than $5. No activation fee, no hassle. Just went to ATT Go Phone online activation and immediately activated my phone. Again, No hassle and NO activation fee. I will definitely recommend this to those who needs an extra Sim card.
I used this SIM card with an unlocked quad band phone during a recent trip to the US. I bought it at Amazon and had it shipped to my hotel. I activated the card through the AT&T GoPhone website, set up my account and got my new number in under 10 minutes. Best of all, I didn't have to sign any contracts! Well worth the price!'
