Screen Protector
At this time I've had the case one day.
The case came quickly. It was easy to install. It seems to provide good coverage of the whole device without blocking the buttons, ports, camera, or speaker hole. It's nothing special to look at, but the case's flat black finish is just fine with me.
The back half is rigid and has a rubber coating that provides a decent grip. This is good in that the phone won't easily slide off a table, but it might make it a little harder to slide your phone into a pocket. The bottom has a bit of a ridge below the speaker hole that aids in picking it out of your pocket.
The front is flexible enough to install easily but seems solid enough not to pop off the phone in your pocket. It adds a ridge around the screen so you're less likely to scratch the screen when setting the phone on a table face down. You will still need a screen protector though, IMO. The case doesn't quite match the phone's slope right below the four screen buttons so it's a little thicker there but it's no big deal. Like the previous review said, the side of the front piece does make it a little tougher to type on the top row of the slide-out keyboard. I don't see how one could make a case that protects the side of the slider without interfering with these keys.
The case is lightweight so it doesn't make the already weighty phone much heavier. It does add a few mm to the phone's dimensions but it's not super thick.
Overall, it's just what I wanted for less than VZW wanted to charge me for a comparable case. Premium Rubberized Hard Snap-on Case Cover for Motorola Droid 2 - Black
Bought this when I got my Droid 2, it's a great case. It's got some bulk and weight to it, it's far from just some cheap case. Give great protection and is rubber so the phone won't be easily knocked off of a table or anything. My only problem is when it's on and you use the keyboard for the phone the top row of keys is not easy to get to.
the item pictured is misleading and is NOT the same as what showed up to my mailbox. it Is black and it Does fit my phone (droid 2) but in the photo it shows an opening for the entire speaker on the back of the phone. the case i received in the mail has an opening 1/3rd the size, considerably cutting down on the amount of sound coming out of the speaker clearly.
I spent $3 on this case for my Droid 2. "importer520" used the ole bait and switch technique of advertising a Droid 2 case but sending me a case that wouldn't fit my phone knowing for $3 it costs more to return it than what it's worth.
Buyer beware... DO NOT PURCHASE FROM "IMPORTER520"
I thought "rubberized" meant it would keep sticking in my pocket as I tried to pull it out but the rubber is actually pretty smooth. The case seems durable, easy to pull out of my pocket and works great for me.
I've been the owner of a few different cases for the original droid, some were horrible and some were great. Since I upgraded to the Droid 2 I needed a new case and this is the first one I got. So far this case meets all the needs and protects for phone pretty well. However, this isn't as good as my best case I had with the original droid. Unfortunately at this time the creator of the best case I had doesn't make a case for the droid 2. My dislikes about this case are centered around the thickness of the case itself. It doesn't make the overall phone that much heavier or bigger but its just enough to lose the comfort of the original phone. It makes the phone feel thick which is not all that fun. Also, my biggest complaint is the back of the case is raised a few mm off the back of the batter section. I'm not sure if this is to help with cooling or to support a larger battery, but it makes the phone slightly bigger.
All in all it's a decent case, not the best and certainly not the worst. Wish it was a little more form fitting to the phone.
I have the original Motorola Droid with the extended battery from the Droid 2. My previous case, a seidio innocase, would not fit with the extended battery with the battery door on - I had to leave the battery door off, something I didn't really want to do.
The back of this case has a slight hump, which allows me to have the extended battery and battery door on my Droid.
Obviously the front piece of this case isn't compatible with the original Droid because of the mic location change, but I retained the front of the innocase for that.
Loses a star because while it is decent, it isn't really "premium" like they call it.
When purchasing the case I was expecting something that would have more grip to it, the only thing this case actually does is protects the back from scratches. It makes the Droid harder to open, and it seems to make it slide more on surfaces. I bought it for like 15 cents, so I can't really complain, but I was really expecting something that would provide more grip.
The size of the case makes it unable to fit in Droid docks also, so you will need to take the case off and put it back on in order to charge it that way. Again, the case cost me about 15 cents, so it was worth it just to try it out, but with shipping you're looking at about $3 for something that is cheaply made and doesn't do much.'
