Headphone Adapter - headset, headphone adapter
I can't say this will work for all phones, or even all Motorola phones, but it was a life saver for my V365.
Don't make the mistake of picking up a standard 3/32" to 1/8" adapter at Radio Shack or Walmart. It won't work in your phone. Sure it will fit the jack perfectly, but when it's plugged in, all you get is one channel. Moto uses a non standard jack configuration that probably has something to do with the way it will mute the music if a call comes in.
There are some headphones and earbuds made to fit the jack as is, but with this adapter, a whole new market of higher quality headphones becomes available. Headset Adapter 3.5mm to 2.5mm Audio Adapter and Converter
the problem with most adapters is that they only have 2 rings where it goes into the phone. probrably for the hands free mic. this adapter was made for a motorola rokr e1. if your ear buds have 3 rings on the tip this should work. and it will be in stereo.you don't have to pull it out halfway to get both sides to work. it locks in and stays there. sound quality is really good.some headphones are louder than others.most likely due to ohms resistance.i have a LG enV vx9900
no more ear buds for me!
I bought this to use with my xbox 360 controllers. I wanted to use my own standard 3.5mm headset that I am comfortable with and not the standard 'drive thru' style that comes with the xbox controllers. Mic and mono earpiece work perfectly.
The item I received looked a lot like Universal 2.5 Male to 3.5 Female Headphone/Adaptor and it did not have the three rings on the 2.5mm end that signifies it can be used for voice communication. Just make sure you check, I was able to contact the seller and get a refund however it took a while for me to diagnose the problem. - Headphone Adapter - Headset - Stereo - Jack'
