Instead of paying MSRP plus tax for the Verizon car charger I ordered this instead and it works just as well. There is a small red light on top that lets you know the unit is working some may choose to cover this up with some electrical tape so it emits no light but I like it. The unit does feel a little plasticy but I think it's better than expected for the price, and definitely no reason not to buy it as the Verizon one probably feels the same for much more. It charges my phone, but when I have GPS mapping and bluetooth turned on at the same time, the charger barely charges the phone faster than it's draining the battery, so the charge in the battery does not go up. I bought it so I could use GPS routing without having the battery run down before my day was done, and it accomplishes that. However, if I forget to charge it one night, even turning off GPS and bluetooth, the charger isn't powerful enough to give my phone enough charge to last all day on my 30 minute commute.
