This case is the PERFECT cover for the DX! When I bought my phone from an individual, one came with the phone. I liked it so much, I began searching for another for my husband's DX. We are now both outfitted in a Qmadix! Here's why I like it:
1) It FITS! Every hole is perfectly aligned.
2) It is a gel cover, but is also stiff. It doesn't slide of slip on the phone.
3) It does not cover the buttons on the front of the phone. All other cases I tried came up over the bottom front edge of the phone so that you had to use your nail to wriggle down beside the case and push the buttons...very frustrating!
4) It is black. Very professional for both of us.
5) It is not expensive compared to other cases that don't fit and are, frankly, ugly.
6) It is slim enough that it adds very little extra bulk to the phone.
7) It is gel-like enough to keep the phone stable on a desk or even on the dash.
8) It slips easily on and off when necessary.
9) It slips up over the sides of the front but does not cover the screen AT ALL! Others do.
10) It is hard plastic enough that it slips easily in and out of pockets.
At first I thought that it wouldn't be enough protection for the phone since others are so bulky, but I dropped my DX and the little case took a ding, but not the phone.

I've had this droix x cover now for close to 1 month and have been very pleased with it. It comes on and off very easily...but stays on unless you want it off. It seems to be more plasticky than rubber but has some similarities to both. It is somewhat rigid which I like a lot. All the holes and button areas are perfectly aligned and made exactly for the droid x. This is definitely worth the cost. Highly recommended...Nate
I've had this cover/case now for about 4 weeks. It really helps you grip the phone very well! It's also thin enough that you can still put it in the leather holster, although it's a little bit of a tight fit. Also, the Gel is very easy to get off if you need to take it off for some reason (like if you have a charger stand to use it as an alarm clock).
Some reviews on other types of cases mention that the buttons become hard to press. With this gel case, the buttons are as easy with the case and they were without it. The cut outs are just perfect. The case fits snug, and gives me a piece of mind about protecting this rather expensive phone.
The gel is pretty thin, and doesn't get in the way like some of the thick leather cases do. Basically, it's just protection in case you drop it so it doesn't get all scratched up. If you dropped it from your roof, it probably wouldn't protect the phone from getting seriously damaged.
The things most people are interested in from reviews:
1) Case is rubber, not a hard case. Appears adequately protective (have only dropped it once).
2) Slips on and off easily. Shouldn't break or tear from repeated removal.
3) Doesn't fit in the auto cradle. I don't know about the multimedia cradle.
4) Buttons work fine through case.
5) Has a reasonable big hole for headsets. I have sennheiser HD555s at work and they don't seat correctly, but earbuds work fine.
I was looking for a case that helps protect from scratches while sliding into my pocket easily. This one fit the bill perfectly. This case is made out of a flexible plastic called thermoplastic polyurethane or TPU. It fits nice and tight around the phone by slipping on and stretching around the corners.
Noteworthy:
1) Fits the phone nicely. No worries about it accidentally coming off or apart.
2) The power/lock button, camera button, and volume up/down buttons are covered by the material (buttons molded into the material) Takes some extra effort to press the buttons, but not a big deal.
3) Barely encroaches onto the front of the screen. This was important to me b/c I didn't want to have trouble dragging widgets from one screen to another, and I haven't had trouble with this at all.
4) Thin enough that it doesn't make the phone bulky.
5) Grippy enough that it feels secure in the hand, but not so much that it won't slide into your pocket easily.
6)Can remove and put it back on easy, which is important b/c it gives you access to your microSD card and battery easily.
7) Seems to provide ample protection for the phone without interfering with its use.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy this product again.
The Droid X is already plenty big, so I when I went looking for a case I wanted one that added a bit of padding while adding as little bulk as possible. I was waiting patiently for the Otterbox cases for the DX, but upon seeing them I realized that the higher end models are unecessarily bulky for my needs and the cheapest one has an ugly matte black finish. The Qmadix Gel is the right price and the strikes the perfect balance of bulk vs. padding. It's also semi-transparent so it's somewhat attractive.
Putting the Qmadix on my DX was very easy and it fits perfectly and stays put. It's firmer than some silicon cases but it's not rigid.
I love that the volume and camera buttons are usable but at the same time fully protected. I also like the diamond pattern on the back and that the finish on the case is smooth and does not stick to the inside of my pants pocket. The only curiosity is the extra large cutout on the back for the speaker. Seems they could have made that a little smaller.
