My laptop bag was falling apart, so I needed a new. I picked this one mostly for the cool design on front (It reminded me of Cherry Blossoms). The bag fits my VIAO perfectly.
The main pouch for laptops is VERY well padded on the sides AND on the bottom. The flap (cool cordoroy-like material inside) and drawstring combination work to make the laptop fit perfectly. Moreover, the shoulder strap has a suede-like feel which makes it much more slip-resistant than the simple nylon straps you find on most bags. So all these things together make me feel like my laptop is well cared for in this bag.
There is an aditional compartment for books inside. And two smaller zippered pouches are good for pens, mouse, flash drive, etc.

After reading another review which called out the size of the padded inner compartment, I was worried about my 15" laptop fitting in this bag, but I couldn't find anything else that would be big enough and not ugly or plain black so I ordered it anyway just to try. (Amazon's return policy can't be beat.) To anyone else who has concerns about the size: measure your actual laptop, don't just trust the published dimensions. My laptop is supposedly 15" wide with a 15.6" (diagonal, viewable) screen. When I measured it, it was actually about 14.5" wide. Interesting. So I got the bag today and immediately checked that my laptop would fit in the inner compartment; it looked like it wouldn't at first, but I wiggled it and managed to shove it in for a snug fit. Had to take it out and put it back in three more times this afternoon, and each time it fits a little easier as the padding unfolds from shipping, but it's still snug enough to be secure. the thing is, you don't want a roomy padded compartment for the laptop itself: all the padding in the world won't help if your laptop is bouncing around inside, right? So this is not the bag for your 10" laptop, but there are a thousand cute options for the smaller machines, so keep looking.
Additionally, The zippered compartments on the front under the flap are terrific. they are both plenty deep, and the inner of the two has three big pockets inside, plus those little pen straps that I never use. The main compartment is roomy enough for a textbook or a portfolio and a bunch of folders in addition to my power cord and usb mouse. Not sure how exactly I'm going to organize everything, but this bag gives me plenty of options, and I'm thinking about getting one of the other ones (they come in different designs!) The strap is long enough to fit across my chest, which is a big deal for me because I'm 5'10" and long-waisted. Your results may vary if you are taller or broader in the torso, but the Velcro is adjustable and you can buy patches of the loop side if you are worried about the hooks sticking to clothing etc.
A note on the color: yes, it is a sort of dove grey color, which doesn't show accurately in the picture. I was a little disappointed at first, then quickly realized that the pretty white bag I thought I was getting would be filthy in no time, whereas this is an easy-to-clean material in a forgiving color. The design is silk-screened on, which creates the effect another reviewer complained of being plastic-y, but I promise this method is quite durable.
I ordered this for my granddaughter - off to college with new laptop, so deserved a new bag too! It is not only pretty, but very well constructed, and she should get a lot of wear out of it. It easily accommodates her 15.6" laptop, even tho made for a 15.4. It fits in snugly, which is good, but it is not difficult to slide into the padded compartment. Lots of room for other items in the bag too.
Now I want one! Guess I should buy a laptop first tho.............
Nice size with plenty of room for other electronics. The strap which adjusts with a velcro closure concerned me at first but when adjusted, it held tight. Looks cool too. Bought for our cross county trip from Wilmington, NC to Seattle Wa. and it did it's job well.
I just bought a Fujitsu LifeBook A series AH530 15.6 inches. I bought the laptop so i can do my homework for my online school. My 2 year old would turn off my desktop in the middle of doing my homework and sometimes i would lose the work i did. I was looking for a shoulder bag and laptop sleeve to protect my laptop. When i read the dimensions of the laptop and bag i knew that there would be little room to spare without ware. I bought it anyway in hopes that the laptop would fit. I received it on time and undamaged. It actually fit perfectly. The laptop section is completely padded and it is a snug fit which is what you want for a laptop protector/sleeve. There is plenty of room for a reading book, binder, cellphone, pens and pencils and personals. The bag is beautiful and wish that there was a decal or hard cover for Fujitsu, i would have bought it as well. I would also recommend letting your laptop cool down before putting it in the bag because there is not ventilation. My husband warned me to make sure that it was not on and it was cooled down before putting it in there because the heat could damage your laptops internal components. So even thought it says 15.4 inches make sure that the laptop does not exceed 16 inches period or it will not fit.
