Camping - solar, hiking

G24i Power Curve, charger battery unit.

Comes in the box, the solar unit: it feels quality and the panels are much more durable than some of the first generation solar panels.

Case for fittings: nice holds all the fittings.

Fittings and cables: Included in the pack

LG phone fitting

Blackberry

Mini USB *(lots of the bluetooth headsets)

Nokia

PSP

USB regular to charge the box

DC cable for tips

Wide samsung

Sony ericsson

Thin Samsung

USB for ipod and GPS (this can work for any USB charger)

That will cover most everything, if you have a usb for your product you can charge it!

Here is how it works, you plug it in for the first time and give it a nice 6 hour charge(important) After that you can charge it with solar or even slowly with indoor lighting.

The unit is much more powerful than the first generation of portable solar products, the case is waterproof, I don't think you can swim with it!!

It will power for about 4-6 hours of use after the sun goes down... this is a great camping or hunting product since you can use it so many ways. It also has a led light you can buy to use with it called a Sun Light (of course)

Ideas you may of not thought about: Great for Emergency preparedness, it could run a radio for emergencies or charge any products during a power outage.

It can be used to charge up batteries, AA batteries for a camera or many other things.

will update in the field...UPDATE still great, I always give it a nice AC charge before any trip. I have since bought a Car USB Dc USB Charger This one is about $3.

UPDATE: used this in the rain very water resistant.

UPDATE: they have the sunlight LED light available on Amazon now G24 Solar Innovations Power Curve LED Light to Plug Into (White) G24 Solar Innovations Power Curve Portable Charger with Assorted Fittings (Black)

So my first thought at opening this item was how sturdy it felt. This item did not work at first and I was frustrated but on inspection I found That it was a short in the cable. It Took about 4 days after contacting the company to receive my new cable! this unit works Great . having never owned a solar charger it seams that this will do the trick! I do however wish that their was an attachment to charge my Cannon camera batteries. However it did come with plenty adapters and works great on my PSP and cell phone. I imagine that finding the adapter for my camera will be an easy inexpensive Fix.

Overall This product is great and I would recommend this item to all my friends.

I bought this for charging my Droid X while camping, and at festivals, but the power is just not there. I followed the directions to the letter, and even when fully charged from the wall the battery pack would only take my phone from 10% up to about 40%. Since it takes so long to charge in the sun, this rate of charge is unsustainable. My fantasy of living with a solar-powered only phone was dashed. But I agree with some of the other reviewers: It is indeed well designed, and well made. It might suit you if you're only charging smaller toys, like an ipod or a less-hungry phone. But 1200mAh is not nearly enough for a modern smart phone. Keep looking, if that's what you want it for.

let me start off by saying that i really, really liked this item. i wish i could have kept it. it charges fast. it has a large 4 or 5 inch solar face. it feels durable, and solid. water resistant. really an ideal item to take hiking, fishing, or camping. the only issue i had with it, is that it does not charge iphones. more of an issue with apple than the charger. but very disappointed none the less. highly recommended as long as you dont have an iphone. when i switch over to a droid, i will be repurchasing this charger.

One of these brought my phone charge from barely two bars up to a full four bars in one hour.

The unit actually combines a solar panel with a rechargeable battery built into the back of a sturdy frame about the size of a thin paperback. This lets you leave the charger collecting sunlight in a window (or hanging off of a backpack) and later use it to charge your phone at night. It would be useful to keep in touch if a power failure makes your wall charger temporarily useless. I actually use it while traveling and hope to use it during airport layovers. Everyone in airports is after the few available wall outlets to charge gadgets or run their laptops. But with this I can just sit in front of a big window and top off my phone. (Note: I haven't flown with it yet so I don't know if the olive green models will concern the TSA people. Also less charge may occur through heavily tinted windows.)

One corner has a built-in hole with solid edges to hang the unit from a hook or narrow strap. The hole is not wide enough to pass through any strap with a buckle on the end, and esthetically it would hang straighter if it were in the middle instead of a corner, but that doesn't affect function. I loop the connector cord through this hole a few times to prevent tangling, and just leave a few inches dangling free to plug into my phone.

After you unpack it, don't forget to charge it the first time off a laptop or something else that plugs into the wall.

All in all a nice little unit. I've already bought a second one. - Solar - Hiking'
