Cell Phone Accessories - cell phone accessories, incredible
The Zagg screen protector on my HTC Droid Incredible is my second Zagg InvisibleShield product, the first being a watch crystal shield. In both cases the product is extremely thin and fits perfectly. After 2 or 3 days, any bumps or bubbles smooth themselves out, making the shield almost invisible. The screen has a clean, smooth feel to it, and resists finger prints, dust, and other touchscreen nuisances. Selecting apps by touch is as effortless as if there was no screen protector on the device, yet it has resisted scratching perfectly, even though I carry my phone in a pant pocket along with a small flashlight and other "guy jewelry." I bought one for my son's cell phone, and he has had the same satisfying results. ZAGG invisibleSHIELD for HTC DROID Incredible (Screen)
Almost went to Best Buy to get the shield installed. Then I said to myself if my life skills have degraded to the point of not being able to put protector on a phone, I need a new life.
Application:
My package was the spray bottle and rubber squeegee.
The application went fairly smooth, for a clutz like me, and although not perfect it was easy to adjust. Most of the bubbles came out with the squeegee but I did worry because there were several that did not. I did what they said and let it dry for 24 hrs. (actually 12) and overnight some of them started to disappear. Actually it has been about a week now and almost all had disappeared. The two left have gotten very small and I'm sure will do the same over time. So overall it was easy and successful.
Results:
You can really feel the protection and the shield does not mar or scratch like many others I have had in the past. You can see a bit of an orange peel in high light conditions, but you really can't notice it when the screen is lit. It does make it a lot easier to see your amoled screen in bright light so I am pleased. Although not invisible it the screen looks excellent even when I compared it to another HTC Incredible without any protection. The feel is a little different but with use it is not sticky and the sensitivity is not affected.
Overall I am very pleased and would recommend this as the small tradeoff between clarity and protection is well worth it.
I purchased a Zagg protector for my EVO (before I returned it) and the installation came out crappy. There were stretch marks from my inept use of the squeegee but I did manage to get most the bubbles out.
After buying an Incredible, I decided to take another crack at it, and still messed it up a bit but this time I was able to turn it into a success.
You will have to change the way you use the screen if you use your nails at all. Your nails will dig into the screen and cause marks that won't really ever go away. So don't dig into the screen while scrolling down a web page.
The orange peel effect seems to be a function of how you removed the film from the backing and how you installed it. It also seems to only be visible on the black parts of the phone and while the phone is off for the rest of the screen. It does not appear to have a very detrimental effect with the screen on - at least compared to matte screen protectors.
I like the feel of the screen - or at least it doesn't offend me. The touch sensitivity of the naked phone seems a bit sensitive and the thickness of this film seems to have a positive effect on performance, if any at all.
The only real pro is this protector is a bit more forgiving with handling during installation with that spray and with washing your hands.
Honestly I'm not sure why someone would prefer this over cheaper, clearer films. Probably the fact that it's exclusive in big stores like Best Buy. Supposedly you still pay if you decide to invoke the lifetime warranty. I give this product a "meh."

This is how I installed my protector.
Wipe screen down thoroughly and go into a room with little dust. I actually installed it in-store and there's not much dust there.
Wash hands, wet fingers with the included solution, peel the protector off. Once I peeled enough to get a grip on it, I wet my fingers again on both hands and then proceeded to remove it from the backing.
Then I thoroughly wet the protector on both sides and used this window of wet finger opportunity to position the screen protector. I pretty much set the protector down (not recommended) once I had aligned it, then gently used the squeegee to push out bubbles on the wet upper surface of the protector.
This gave mediocre results and upon finding some debris that had gone unnoticed under the protector, I washed my hands and wet my fingers and used a plaque scraper (nearest suitable object) to gently peel off the corner, then used my fingers to peel back to the debris. I sprayed more of the stuff on it and gently coaxed the debris off of the protector.
I squeegee'd the part I peeled off back on and then took this opportunity to redo the screen cover. I peeled the top down to where the home keys are, then ensured the cover was wet on both sides. Then I placed the squeegee by the home keys while holding the peeled back portion with my other hand, then gently led the squeegee to the top of the phone while ensuring excess water did not drain into the speaker, which resulted in a perfect bubble-free, stretch-free application.
This method of affixing the bottom and holding the top with one hand while carding/squeegeeing from the bottom up has resulted in great success with all sorts of screen protectors. This one is a bit more forgiving with that spray and with washing your hands and is probably the only pro versus cheaper protectors. - Zagg - Invisible Shield - Cell Phone Accessories - Incredible'
