I was looking for something to protect my kindle from scratches as well as jazz it up a little. I absolutely LOVE starry night so I knew I had found my decal as soon as I laid my eyes on this. I was a little apprehensive about getting a decal at first because I am quite the perfectionist and if I can't get it to look 99% right it would annoy me and I'd have to remove it. However, I decided to give it a try and was very pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to put it on and move it around if necessary during application. This was very easy to apply and I receive positive comments every time someone sees it. I suggest getting a screen protector as well. With protection of the screen and the Kindle, there's no need to carry it around in a case, so it just slips into my purse.
I love reading my Kindle anyway, but the Van Gogh just adds color and enhances the time reading and it is even more enjoyable....this was so easy to apply, and offers protection from any scratching that could occur...the packaging is the only complaint I have.....arrived in a large box...too much - a padded envelope would suffice.... Do get a skin of your choice for your kindle you'll love it!
The material and color quality of this product is excellent.
Pros
It is easy to apply and reapply to get it straight. There is no sort of residue to worry about if you want to peel it off. The material is thin and feels rubbery enough to maintain a grip but is also durable and certainly won't tear under normal circumstances.
Cons
This particular print and colors going on can make it slightly harder to see the keys on the keyboard.
I received the Starry Night Kindle skin as a gift. I have the latest generation Kindle, graphite color so kind of drab, so was very excited to give it a little flair with this skin.
The skin was surprisingly easy to install. If you misplace it a little, it's very easy to peel back up and adjust. It's thin but not paper thin, so you don't need to worry about rips / tears as long as you are reasonably careful with it. It took about 5 minutes for me to apply the skin to my liking. It looks really beautiful once applied.
On the con side, I'm not sure how much protection this will offer your Kindle. In my opinion, this product is intended for aesthetic appeal rather than to protect your device. It might prevent scratches but that's about it. I have a sleeve that I use to protect my kindle, and the skin has remained intact just fine.
One annoyance was that you have to peel each keypad hole off the decal individually. Not sure why it didn't come with the holes pre-stamped out.
Also, it is a bit pricey for what it is. Not exorbitantly expensive, and it is worth it to get an appealing look to your kindle, but I think it should still be about $5 cheaper than it is. Oh well, I'm happy with it anyway!
I would definitely recommend purchase of the Starry Night skin if you're just looking to have a unique looking, attractive Kindle!
I bought this on a whim when purchasing my newest Kindle, but I am very glad I did! The cover looks amazing and not at all like something stuck on, which is exactly how it is applied. It took less than three minutes to apply and it was easy to reposition the decal to get it lined up perfectly. It fits so well, especially around the buttons. I plan on trying other designs in the future when I want a fresh look.
I cannot express enough how easy it is to apply this skin. You simply peal it off of the paper it comes on and place on your kindle. Should you happen to misalign it you simply pull off and replace. No bubbles at all! I would highly recommend although they are a bit pricey.
This was easy to apply. I was amazed at how perfectly all the holes fit the keys. Each individual one is unobstructed. Most of all, I find visual pleasure in looking at my Kindle each time I pick it up.
Before you purchase this product ask yourself, would you pay twenty dollars for a sticker? If you answered no, then do not buy this product, because that's all you'll be getting. A really expensive sticker. I was thrilled by the idea of it, until it came around to actually applying the thing. It's hard to get the front piece on over all of the buttons and still have it look great. I had to try and retry for 20 minutes until I was satisfied. It also makes the side buttons stick a little.
