Finish Nailer - tools, nail gun

I've had mine for about a year and I love this gun. It's so much easier to grab this out of the backseat of my truck and start nailing than it is to grab a pneumatic gun, the compressor, the hose, finding an outlet and tripping over the hose as I'm trying to nail with it. For a small job you can be in and out with this gun before you even get the compressor set up. As long as you keep the gun lubed and clean you will rarely have a problem with it. I use mine for trim, woodworking and finish work with great results. In fact, I haven't used a pneumatic brad nailer since I got this, and I have 3 brad nailers that are collecting dust because of this gun. I've used different brands of nails and they all seem to work well. At the price this gun may not be for everyone, But everyone that uses it will want one Paslode 901000 18 Gauge Finish Nailer

i have used one of these for a few years and it has been a real time saver. beats seting up a compressor even on midsize jobs.

pros.

-power to sink nails in to hardwood. (i work with alot of oak)

-lots of shots to battery and gas

-belt clip is handy (clips on most step ladder stays)

Cons.

-loud

-not angled

-very tempermental

-must be cleaned atleast once daily maybe more if you are shoting alot.

-gas is not cheap AND HAS A SHELF LIFE. if you cant use a box in less then a year or it had been sitting on the shelf at the store for awhile it will go bad cusing misfires. CHECK THE DATE ON THE PACKAGE(or canister)

-aside from gas and nails you need to buy paslode brand cleaner spray and oil

I'll get right to the pros and cons.

Pros-

Obviously, convenience- sometimes you don't need to lug in a whole compressor setup for just handyman type work.

Good Case.

Cons & Problems-

This thing misfires just like the other Paslode Cordless guns, but not as bad as the framing gun.

Gas intake valves have been faulty twice (My company owns three of these suckers) - a 50 Dollar repair.

The driving pin gets constantly stuck, even with constant care and lubrication.

The tip mecanism broke off completely on one gun.

During heavy construction usage, battery charger A/C unit is easily compromised. (The power conection is weak)

In general, it's good to have around in a pinch, but don't count on it to do any serious work, you'll end up costing yourself more time, money, and frustration.

Note: The newest model of 18 gauge has seemed more solid and reliable, I've only used it a handful of times, but time will tell.

Have used Paslode's cordless framing gun @ work(carp. local #174 Joliet, IL.) and they have worked great so I went and got one of these trim guns @ H.D. and it is a great, lightweight, easy-to-use, time saving tool. I don't know why I waited so long to buy one-it is a small price for such a great piece of equipment-kudos to Illinois Tool Works. Treat them with care and they'll last forever. The storage case is durable and logical to use.

Be advised that Paslode's MSRP for this product is lowered to $ 259.00 so don't pay above that. You can get it with free shipping for $ 249.00 if you look around- Nail barn and elsewhere.

Awesome product, free of cords, hoses and heavy ancillary equipment. If you are not a pro, the only drawback is the shelf life of the fuel cell. This is offset in part by the fact that the same fuel cell works in the 16 gauge finish nailers. If you are not a pro though, is it worth paying so much more than pneumatic? Decisions decisions.

If your looking for a cordless finish nailer pass this one up and go to the newer [nailer] by Paslode. The price is about the same to [a little] more... I own two of these and there are times when the cylinder head gets in the way of nailing corners and under toe kicks It's a good nailer but it has been obsoleted by its brother ...

No one wants to drag around a hose and compressor. And, after working with a carpenter who uses 3 of these guns I was very impressed. Although the price was quite high the benefit seemed to outweigh the cost.

Upon receiving the gun it did not work and it was a lot of hazzle to return the defective product for another. So, Paslode repaired it free of charge. It then worked as advertised for perhaps 200 or so brads. Then it quit working again. I took the gun back to the repair shop where they told me the piston was bad! After about 2 weeks I got the gun back. It fired ONE brad perfectly and then stopped working again. Back to the repair shop where they told me it was a wiring issue. After this repair, I got the gun home, fired a few brads and the gun jammed (I was using the correct brads).

The repair shop told me these guns either work or they have lot's of problems. So, it seems I got one of the many duds.

I can't afford to experiment (gamble) with price heavy tools. Therefore, while the Paslode concept is excellent I highly recommed you save your money until someone develops a product that is high quality & dependable(which Paslode is NOT).

UPDATE - December 27, 2009:

I once again started using the gun installing baseboards for a friend. After about 2 racks of nails the gun quit working again. I took it apart for cleaning but this did not help. So, it's back to the repair shop.

There is simply no way I would ever recommend this nailer to anyone given it's high cost and exceptional maintenance needs.

I have this 18 ga and the 16 ga angled nailers. They both have worked flawlessly for over 6 months and a couple thousand nails. I use the 18 exclusively for crown and fine mouldings, and the 16 when there's a few pieces of base or casing. I still keep a compressor and air gun when I have a lot of nailing to do.

I've used this finish nailer for the past few weeks and it has worked flawlessly. I did find that you must depress the end of the nailer completely against the material being nailed in order for the depth of the nail to be consistent, but that was just learning to use the tool. I have found problems in purchasing the finishing nails for this gun. Even on line, the 5/8 inch nails are not available. I ended up buying 1 inch, 1-1/4 inch and 2 inch finishing nails to handle most of the tasks I expect. I would recommend this finishing nailer for anyone needing a finishing nail gun without the cumbersome hoses and compressor of most nail guns. - Nail Gun - Tools'

Iphone 3g Accessories - cable, ipod cable

This is my 1st purchase from this company, but the service and product are great. I ordered and had the product in my hands 2 days later. With how many iPhones/iPods are on the market, you'd think that more companies would have a product like this. When I found this I was thrilled, trying to charge your iPhone and talk on it are impossible with how short the cord is. A friend told me about it and as soon as I found it I bought 2, one more home and one for work. Now I can get more than a foot from the wall when my phone is charging. Great price and great service! Extra Long 6 Foot (6ft) iPhone / iPod USB Charge and Sync Cable, Double the Length of the Standard Cord

Love the length of this cable--it's so handy to use in most applications. But it's not perfect...

--Data sync with iTunes depends on where this cable is connected. I've plugged it directly into three different computers, without problems--but I've also plugged it into two different laptop docking stations, and consistently get an error message indicating that an iPhone has been detected, but other information could not be correctly accessed, and therefore sync was not possible. (For comparison, the Apple OEM cord works flawlessly when plugged into these same laptop docking stations.) Charging works great everyplace I've attempted.

--The phone connection is "squeeze to release", not "pull to release" like the Apple OEM. For some accessories which require a sync cord (such as a Griffin AirCurve), this is a problem, as the squeeze points aren't accessible when it's plugged in, and therfore removing the cord or the iPhone is nearly impossible once connected.

--The USB connection is slightly fatter than the Apple OEM cord. Which usually won't be an issue--but if you have multiple USB ports on your computer, you might not be able to access the one directly above or below this connection when using this cord. Also, some accessories (my example again is the Griffin AirCurve) are designed to pass the USB connection through a hole in the device, and this cord's USB plug won't fit.

Still, all in all, a well-built and quality product. Just be sure to know where you plan to use it before buying.

Never before left a bad review, but like some other users, the end which connects to the iPhone/iPad just crumbled apart into 5 pieces. I reassembled it but after another charge the end crumbled and the main part was stuck in the iPhone. A quick pinch with plyers and it was out but that was it.

Really bad quality. It was great when it worked as the extra length was ideal. But now I notice others had the crumbling end and its not acceptable. I must have gotten one of those bad batches.

The first time I used the cable, the iPod/iPad connector shell came apart. I spent 30 minutes putting it back together and gluing it. If you buy this product, before using it, apply a small amount of super glue along the seams, being careful not to glue the release buttons on the sides. As I said, it works but it is NOT well made.

I enjoyed it for 2 days very much

the iPhone end of the charger started separating after 2 days and no longer worked. Awesome idea. I like the long cord but very cheap construction. I'd like one that wouldn't fall apart if anyone has found one. Thank you. Kit Stockton

I looked every where for a longer than normal cable and finally found this one. I needed to be able to keep my iPod Touch plugged in while driving so my kids in the back seat could play with it.

this cable works perfectly. Charging and data transfer is perfect.

Update!!! Please see added comments from two users. One did not get this to work on his iPhone 4. The other did not get it to work on his iPhone 3G. My device is the iPod touch 3rd generation.

Works perfectly even with my iphone 4. I used it to charge my iphone 4 from several power sources -- the original apple power adapter, car charger adapter, multi-powerstrip usb port, and laptop -- all worked perfectly without a hitch. I have used other cables before and not all of them worked well. I am ordering more of this brand b/c it simply works and I love the extra length. One minor point that turns out to be a lucky break, the end that plugs into the iphone is thinner, which is great because it plugs into my iphone 4 even when a protective case is used on the phone. The original iphone cable is a bit fat and I was having problems trying to squeeze the original cable into some of these ill fitted iphone 4 cases. (it's an iphone 4 accessory case problem not a cable issue).

I purchased 2 of these cables. One for my girlfriend and one for myself. A month after working flawlessly they stopped working. My girlfriends only charges when u twist the cable in wierd angles. Mine wont charge on my computer or tv anymore. I really dont recomend this product to anyone. Poor quality. - Cable - Ipod Cable - Iphone - Iphone 3g Accessories'

Marine Splash Guard

When I received this item, it was bright white. It looked silver or grayish to me on the picture. I emailed the company to ask them for a RMA number because my dash is black and it stuck out like a sore thumb. The product itself is fine, but the company sucks. They refused to give a RMA number and said their return policy stated that if the package was open, they would not give a refund. I never opend the package. I could've returned it just exactly as I received it. Filed a complaint with Amazon and they were no help at all. I've spent a ton of money with Amazon, but this is the very last thing I will ever order here again. Done. Dual SG1 Universal Splash Guard Marine Head Unit Cover

OK, this product has some good attributes which some other reviewers have not covered or vaguely mentioned. First, the self-lifting faceplate. Yes, it lifts up on it's own. Which means it has a pressure center latch/button you must push to open the face; a very nice feature. This unit's faceplate tint is a light champagne hue which allows you to easily see the display on your stereo in full daylight. If you have a stereo that uses a fluorescent display, then you were probably like me with my old splash-guard that had a very "sunglasses" dark tinting requiring you to open it up each time to view your display; a slight nuisance, but a nuisance nonetheless. Why your stereo needs sunshades is beyond me, since you should have a marine rated player which means it has all the UV protection elements a well designed marine player should have. Sure it comes without instructions, but so does a pair of jeans, and you know how to put those on correctly...right? It does come with a stick-on foam "seal." That seal is way to thin to compensate for any large differences in the fascia mount. It is good for a template, but not much else. I used a much thicker EPDM rubber weatherstrip that can be easily found at any hardware supply. Even with that, I added a bead of 100% Marine Silicone to add safety redundancy.

Much better than what came with my marine stereo! Yeah directions and a template would have been helpful but the product performance is worth it. Best splash guard I've seen. Note: if your stereo isnt perfectly aligned, the cover could stick at the top. Just get it right and the cover is perfect. I'd buy another. The window going up almost looks automated.. but please include a template on the box or something. (Trick) use the foam seal backing that you peel off for your template..That worked for me.

This splash guard was well packaged and in excellent conditions.

It has a slick look that will make your boat look sick (In a good way) It fits most radios, personally i was planing to install a car radio and it did fit, but my recently purchased boat was a POS and I returned it and kept the cover, oh well it is still an awesome buy.

My prior one was deteriorating and a bit broken. This was very easy to install and worked flawlessly. Note that there are NO instructions- that's ok I guess. The side clips that cover the skrew holes are strangely designed. You can only get to them from an unistalled unit to take them off. The snap into place and I'm guessing there is NO way to remove them without breaking them- unless of course you had the unit off the boat which is impossible if you haven't had access to the screws!'

Julia Roberts - jude law, relationships

This movie is RAW. If you want a feel good, bubble gum and lollipops type of movie, this is not for you.

This is one of the BEST character studies I have seen in a long time. It's ugly, it's raw, but it's REAL and that could be why some felt so ill at ease. To like this movie is to accept that people really are this selfish and ugly-hearted. This could very well happen and that's what turns your stomach.

By far, Clive Owen owns this movie! You are disgusted by him from beginning to end, but find yourself rooting for him on several occasions, then mad at yourself that you are doing so. But then when you look at the alternative for Anna (Julia Roberts) in Dan (Jude Law), you allow yourself the moral misstep. Dan is quietly selfish and insecure. You realize early on there's an invisible bar that he's set that no one can meet or sustain.

At the end of this movie, you'll ask yourself (in regards to family, friends, and intimate relationships) are you the one setting the unrealistic bar, or are you the one trying to meet one? Are you being yourself while also allowing others to be who they are.

"Alice" was played BRILLIANTLY by Natalie Portman. She had the right balance of tough chick and little-girl-lost. You clearly understood she was someone who wanted to be loved and accepted "as is" flawed and all. Doesn't everyone? She was the only innocent one, so to speak, in the entire quadrangle. She gave her body at the end masking her rejection and hurt. We all know someone whose done this or continues to do this. Although clearly misguided, Alice is the only one who didn't maliciously or selfishly hurt someone she claimed to love.

What makes Larry so remarkable is that he understood they were all flawed INCLUDING HIMSELF, but unlike Dan, accepted it. He knew Anna was a depressive. She didn't have to stay "up" and perfect for him. Larry allowed her to have her blue funks because he knew exactly what made her function comfortably. He was quite content in lifting and supporting her in her art of "photographing sad people beautifully" as Alice said, hitting the Anna nail right on the head. Anna was beautiful to the world, but was sad upon closer inspection. Dan never even realized her condition because it was all about him. Larry understood 'you are what you are,' anything better than that was a great moment. Because he understood this, he knew how to manipulate and orchestrate them all into ultimately getting what he wanted. Dan never got "it" in regard to his relationships because again, it was about him and distracting from his own securities. He had lived and supposedly loved Anna, but didn't really know her - same for "Alice." Any revelations as to who they really were, came from outside sources.

Alice told Larry hidden truths about herself because he was totally open with her - nothing hidden which in turn made her comfortable enough to talk.

Julia gave a great understated performance. She wasn't overly emotional, she didn't rely on her sexuality, she simply existed from moment-to-moment as a depressive does.

I challenge anyone who hated the ugliness of this movie to rewatch it with new eyes.

GREAT-GREAT film! Closer (Superbit Edition)

"Closer" is a heavyweight breathtaking drama that rivets the viewer's attention. The characters are not entirely likable, although each is eminently watchable. Director Mike Nichols won the Oscar for Best Director for "The Graduate" in 1967 and has been nominated 3 other times for "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" (1966), "Silkwood" (1983), & "Working Girl" (1988). Along with films like "Primary Colors" and the TV mini-series "Angels in America," he has an unparalleled ear for dialogue. No, it's not particularly pleasant. No, these are not the people your pastor hopes you will be. But each of these characters represent needs and desires that are shared by most people and are as confused by them as are many. Patrick Marber's screenplay adaptation of his stage drama is heart-wrenchingly truthful.

Of the four strong performances here, the most revelatory for me was Julia Roberts' portrayal of American photographer Anna living in London. She is selfish but has a conscience. She takes what she wants, but tries not to admit to it. In the scene with Larry where she breaks up her marriage, it is some of the best screen time of her career. When Larry grills her on the details of her sexual relationship with Dan, her zinger about the taste of his semen, "It's like yours only sweeter" is like a bullet shot from a gun. It recalls the Elizabeth Taylor line in "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?," "You can take it; you married me for it." It is utterly fearless and brilliant. What a raw amazing performance!

As Dan, Jude Law turns is an edgy self-effacing performance that adds to his reputation as one of the great young actors. His scenes with Natalie Portman are enhanced by their similar pairing in "Cold Mountain." On camera, Law is magnetic. As Dan, the writer of the newspaper obituary column, he turns the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Clive Owen is amazing as the strong less-than-sensitive type. His internet sex dialogues with Jude Law's Dan posing as Anna on the computer are as intense as they are manipulated. When he sits in the aquarium with Anna and with tremendous embarrassment learns the truth, he admits, "He certainly can write!" In the scene with Julia Roberts he bellows "I'm a caveman." It seems to typify the heart of "Closer," investigating these very primal sexual urges we have and how they interweave with the emotional attachments we call "love." Owen was nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for this role and won the Golden Globe Award.

As Alice, Natalie Portman turns in an amazing performance. Her character seems somewhat beyond reach, but she works the territory masterfully, exploring each need and nuance as if it were a beautiful discovery. Portman was nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Oscar and also won the Golden Globe Award.

Damien Rice's song "The Blower's Daughter" is an interesting DVD extra with that riveting chorus, "Can't take my eyes off of you." It's the perfect love song for this film, part pure love and part compulsive addiction. Mike Nichols has worked with an excellent cast and polished this dialogue to perfection. The rhythms build and twist and the lovers attract, repel, trust and betray. It does not so much build to an inevitable conclusion so much as it feels like we've followed the characters through a very intense period of life. This is a film that will be watched and discussed for decades. Bravo! - Julia Roberts - Adultery - Jude Law - Relationships'

Multifunction Tools - oscillating saw, oscillating tool

I bought this tool with the thought in mind not to spend too much on something I probably wouldn't use very often. At this price it was a cheap gamble. I finally got a chance to use it the other day, replacing some T&G flooring and was impressed at how well it worked. It's looks and feels solid and at this point I consider it a good purchase.I really can't see what any of the major name brand tools could do better. The only down point is finding blades that fit. You won't find them at HD or Lowes. Amazon sells blades made by Versa-Tool that fit, so if you buy the tool, stock up so you don't get caught without any replacements.

Update: The Bosch blades will fit, but man are they expensive! Also, if you hit a nail it doesn't matter how much you paid for the blade, it's history.

Update part 2: Ever heard the old saying "You get what you pay for"? Well, in this case it turned out to be true. After using the tool for just a few times, it started acting erratic until it finally just would not turn on. I'm pretty sure it's the switch but it's useless now. It worked long enough to get an idea of it's unique abilities and opened my eyes to how useful these type of tools can be. Now I can justify buying a high end tool as I found it to be indispensible. Genesis GMT15A Multi-Purpose Oscillating Tool

I bought this to cut out some hardwood floor planks and it worked great. I've since used it many times on other projects. It seems to work just as good as the more expensive ones, just hope that it lasts as long. If not, I only paid a little and it was worth it for the few times I've used it. If you're not a general contractor and are just going to use it for home projects, I highly recommend this product.

I am a pro renovator, 35 years with 4 carpenters. Bought a Dremel type and used it for one job and everybody wanted one. Bought the others the Genesis tool, hey it's less than half the cost and the blades are much cheaper. The Genesis is proving superior, no problems whatsoever. These tools are so handy we just don't go anywhere without them, a real time saver. It's most useful as an electric chisel but all functions are great. Get one!

I have done extensive home upgrades and repairs over the years, having accumulated numerous types of saws, but I purchased this multi-purpose tool to address a single issue that I have not encountered in the past 45 years. Having seen advertisements for this type of tool, I was positive that this was the only tool that could successfully address this need to expand the attic opening to my AIR CONDITIONING air handler. All other efforts would have resulted in a time consuming 'cluggy' result. In deciding to postpone this work and purchasing this Genesis GMT15A tool, I was able to very simple and very precisely complete this job.

In a comparison with similar multi-purchase tools, I found the Genesis GMT15A to be 'on a pair' in performance, while costing about approx. 50% less. I had determined that this purchase would have been worth it, if only to get this one job done. But after receiving this tool, I can see that it will be a 'go to' produce in many of my future efforts.

OK, my neighbor has a Fein multimaster and it is awesome. We use it all the time and I kind of got the Fein envy a few weeks ago so I decided to try this brand out. I must say that I have used this now for about a month and it is awesome. Although it isn't a Fein, it weighs about the same, feels the same and is about the same level of noise. The heads are interchangeable with the Fein and it is about 1/10th the cost. I can't say whether it will last for twenty years but at 1?10th the price I can afford to buy one every 5 years for the rest of my life and still come in under what the Fein brand name costs. Not sure if this is a good financial decision for you but if you are on a tight budget like I am you would be a fool to pass this one up. I have used it to scrape paint and glue, cut drywall, concrete, metal and wood. The only thing I had any trouble going through was a concrete nail. (For what it is worth, my neighbor with the Fein burned a blade up as well and we ended up just beating the nail out instead) I would definately recommend this one and will be getting several to send out as Christmas gifts this year. My only explanation of the price difference from the Fein is that they must have lost the patent and cheaper models are now available.

5 Stars from this home improvement user!

I like the size, weight and feel of this Genesis tool. It's effectiveness is not in question. What I find disconcerting is that the triangular sandpaper affixes to the tool head without any fastener or tie-down, resulting in slippage of the paper after a bit of use.

I struggled with buying the Rockwell or even a used Fein, not being able to justify spending a whole lot on a tool that would just be used around the house. I needed it for one particular project but wasn't sure how much use it would get beyond that.

It's worked great so far (for cuts in wood and some sanding). No problems with overheating motor or loosening of the blade during use. There's no question these tools are handy, and I've been using it a lot more than I thought I would.

That said, it could easily crap out on me tomorrow. But for the $35 I paid for it I'm very happy with its performance so far. I generally like to buy "name brand" tools and usually the professional ones if possible, but I highly recommend this tool for the homeowner.

By the way, Bosch is coming out with an adapter so that any multi-tool can be used with any brand's accessories/blades. So you should be able to put a higher quality cutting blade (with the higher price) on this tool if you wanted.

I have had my GMT15A for a couple of weeks now and it has surprised me in comparison to the reviews I have read on similar tools for 3 times the price or better. I have used it for six hours straight scraping epoxy from metal sinks, and it worked great, without getting hot like the others do, according to the reviews. I can't say I like the regular saw blade that comes with the unit, but the other blade works great; it cuts much too slowly. Sanding is good as well. Only having the one speed doesn't seem to be an issue at all; it's all that's needed. I definitely recommend it for the price. It beats the higher priced ones from all I've read. - Oscillating Saw - Multimaster - Multifunction Tools - Oscillating Tool'

Magellan Roadmate 1470 - magellan roadmate, gps

The NEW Magellan RoadMate 1470 is a feature rich product at an affordable price. I can tell you this unit includes tons of features that are not normally found in the low $200 price range.

My first impression of this unit is without reservations or doubt this unit by far is one of the better GPS unit offered by Magellan. One must ask how Magellan can offer so much at a price that is so reasonable. What RoadMate features has been eliminated for this new Magellan RoadMate 1470?

Answer: Nothing, Magellan gave us everything at a price that is unbelievable!

The NEW Magellan RoadMate 1470 offered at a price of less than $239 and is currently the best value for your dollar. This full feature Portable Navigation Device offers all the features you will need to route from point A to Point B anywhere in North America, Puerto Rico and even Mexico if you select to purchase the optional unlock code for this expandable GPS device. Magellan have introduced the most affordable full feature GPS currently available and I feel they have accomplished this successfully.

The Magellan RoadMate 1470 offers so much more, it is BIGGER, Thinner, Smarter and faster than all the older GPS system offered by Magellan at a competitive price similar to the older RoadMate units. Currently this MRM 1470 is the lowest GPS priced available that offers a large 4.7" display with full features including full map coverage of NA map and expandable to Mexico and future Europe maps loaded in a Micro SD card as an option.

How is this entire GPS product possible at the price it is selling for? It offers a much bigger display, 4.7" diagonally and yet the overall physical size is slimmer than a GPS that offers a 4.3" display. It includes smarter features such as OneTouch, quick spell, smart city search, this unit will find street address or POI you are looking for much faster than what is currently available on the GPS market. This unit is Faster and have the ability to search through the entire NA map data base without having to select different map regions such as Canada, Alaska, Mexico to start a route, it covers the entire NA mapping software in one region so one would not have to fumble around switching regions to route to a destination that is not in the lower 48 states. These RoadMate 1470 also calculates a route much faster and offers not one route but 4 different route options. Route options such as Fastest time, Shortest distant, Most use of freeway and Least use of freeway all presented to you on the display map when you select to view the route options. This will not limit the user to only view the route the unit recommends the user to take but at the same time it will display all available routing options. User has the option of selecting different routing method or to view all the available routes on one[ display screen at the same time .

This Magellan RoadMate 1470 is Thinner and a more attractive GPS unit over all. It is almost the thickness of an iPhone yet offers much larger display in almost the same size form factor as the older Magellan Maestro 4250/4350/4370 units.

This new generation of Magellan GPS systems is also Smart enough to not only detour at a specific selected distant such as by 3 miles, 5 miles and 9 miles if one wish to bypass a certain stretch of road or highways that is on the route under detour option, but one can also selectively detour one segment of the route by selecting the street or highway you wish to avoid. This type of flexibility offer the user the ultimate customizable routing option available on some selective higher price GPS products, and this type of features may not be found on some affordable lower end competitive GPS products currently available on the market.

Unlike some similar competitive GPS units that require you to pre-plan a route on a computer and input the routes you wish to take to customize your route. The multiple route destination feature list allows user to plan a trips or destinations one after another in advance, this unit can store multiple routing destination from one destination to the next in advance, and this can aid the driver from having to input each address they wish to go as they reach each destination one at a time. The route optimization feature option offers even more benefit to users, it will optimize your multiple route destinations by distant and time, this feature offers the most efficient way to calculate multiple routes to ALL of your selected destination starting from the nearest address to the furthest without you having to figure it out on a paper map or on a computer. This type of advance multiple destinations routing feature is found mostly on more expensive higher end GPS units.

The OneTouch feature revolutionized the industry by allowing user to quickly find the destination without having to fumble through address book or points of interest category and fields, without having to select cities, streets and numbers, it is truly a OneTouch feature that allows user to quickly and efficiently route to their most visited or desired POI or addresses quickly. This feature is by far one of Magellan best offering to eliminate the need to hunt for certain locations you can simply store most used POI such as the brand of gas station you use like Chevron or Shell, the coffee house by brand such as Starbucks coffee or Peets coffee, banks, ATM, rental car facilities, airports etc. This OneTouch feature enable user to only find the nearest brand of POI you wish to patronize and will not display ALL irrelevant brand of the gas stations or coffee houses near you when you select the OneTouch feature. This option reduces a lot of time for sorting out unwanted contents.

AAA Tourbook option enable user not only to view the many AAA approved Hotels and Restaurants by diamonds rating and where one knows it is safe to patronize, but it allows additional TourBook Destinations such as Attractions, Events such as Art and Wine festivals, and city sponsored events such as Harvest Festival Art and Craft, Santa Cruz Clam Chowder Cook-off among many other events that is available. This type of benefits was only available to AAA members in the past and now with these new Magellan RoadMate GPS systems, they are including this benefit with all their GPS units. This new Magellan RoadMate 1470 is bigger, slimmer and it is also smarter. For those of us that have a difficult time spelling out street names and Cities in Hawaii or Puerto Rico, names like Kaneohe or Wahiawa in the State of Hawaii, one may have difficult time guessing how to spell the city name. With the Magellan RoadMate and the smart city search feature, it will display the City name as you type in a few letters on the spell screen, and also will blank out the letters that is not associated with any cities making it easier to find the city of your choice. If you are near the city you are searching for, the name of the city will pop up first which makes it easier for you to find surrounding cities near your location. This Smart City Search is an excellent feature to aid anyone in spelling cities or street names. The Quick Spell street name search functions similarly that it only offers alphabets letters of available street names and will blank out letters that are not associated with any street name in that city. This enable the user to narrow down the search unlike many competitive units that requires the user to type in the full name before it can determine if it is available or not.

Audio quality provides louder speaker volume output. One of the biggest complaints as to portable GPS systems are the audio output is never loud enough. This new Magellan RoadMate 1470 outperforms in sound volume than the higher end Magellan Maestro's 4250 and 4350/4370's. So if volume is a concern to you, this would be the unit for you. If you drive a loud/noisy vehicle such as a large SUV, truck or a convertible, you may wish to consider this GPS model.

The Magellan RoadMate 1470 Text size is physically larger making it easier for vision impaired user to see the input keys.

One feature that is very helpful is now the unit will display the ETA on the POI menu when you select a category and POI, this will allow user to understand what the approximate ETA will be to route to the POI user selected.

The Exit POI is a very a nice feature that allows users to know what Gas Stations, Hotels, and Restaurants etc that are available in the up coming exit while routing on freeways and highways.

This unit being offered at less than $239 includes the latest and freshest mapping software version 35 which is Q308 mapping software from NavTeq. The average map update cost these days is $49-$79 and considering all the new features this Magellan RoadMate 1470 unit has to offer, it's a bargain and the intelligent solution to keep your GPS fresh and up to date. Remember when you buy these new model GPS units, also includes the 1 year factory warranty.

Lane Assist feature is new to Magellan on the RoadMate product lines. Again this type of advance features are normally offered in higher end PND products. Lane assist enable user to know well in advance what highway or freeway lane they should be in before the exit. This feature is extremely helpful in cities such as Los Angeles that have multiple freeway interchanges, exits and entrances that could easily confuse any driver, with the lane assist feature, the user will be knowledgeable as to which lane and exit they need to take before it is too late. This by far is one of the more desirable feature much like Text to Speech, it keeps the driver better inform as the routes the GPS is directing the driver to take.

The famous patented Magellan Chime/ Bell just-in-time warning feature offers a warning such as "ding-ding" just before the execution. This warning feature allows the user not only to be sure that they are asked to take the turn or exit at the right time, but that they are taking the correct turn and not the street before or after. Too often on short city streets that a warning such as left turn on 3rd street may not be enough if you are in heavy traffic and focusing on the heavy city traffic on the road, sometimes street signs are not easily found and the bell chime confirms that you should make an immediate turn after the chime offer user another level of confirmation.

By far the Magellan RoadMate 1470 offers the most warning of any GPS units, on a normal freeway exit, it will announce 2 miles before the exit, 1 mile before the exit, .5 miles before the exit, .2 miles before the exit and the warning chime just before the exit. On shorter city streets it may only announce .2 of a mile left turn on 3rd street and the bell chime will sound off just before the necessary turn. And if the warning is not enough, you can always select the repeat audio command feature to hear the distant count down if you are unsure when you are going to make the turn. You may ask yourself how this warning feature is different than most other GPS systems currently available. Most competing GPS products may only announce left turn ahead and you may have 2 streets one after another and will have to confirm by taking your eyes off the road and reconfirm via map screen which is not the safest way to navigate in a busy city. Magellan has the right solution by offer both Text to Speech and bell warning chime Just-In-Time before the turn. This is something that is a feature that is much desired and not found in competing GPS products.

Traffic Information, if you are a heavy commuter and requires as much traffic information as possible, you may consider the Magellan RoadMate 1470 offers free lifetime traffic service with the optional traffic receiver. This is a necessary feature to have if you are spending a lot of time on the freeway or highways.

Overview: Bigger, Thinner, Smarter, and Faster. This Magellan RoadMate 1470 is currently the only FULL feature we can find at less than $239 and we feel for a portable navigation device that includes a large 4.7" display, OneTouch patented feature, Text To Speech, Lane Assist, AAA TourBook, millions of points of interest, 2D-3D views map display with a loud audio output speaker is the only intelligent choice for educated consumer to consider. This is the unit that we recommend for the consumer that is looking for the right product at a great price without sacrificing a lot of the advance features currently available on the market today.

No GPS unit is without its limitations, this unit lacks some of the features such as Voice Recognition, BlueTooth, MP3 player, Picture Viewer, Pedestrian mode, ability to route to Lat/Long coordinates, and the DC power cord mount is not user friendly since it interferences with the windshield mount and there is no real way to remove the unit from the mount using one hand.

There appears to be a slightly longer boot up time than most GPS, approximately 3-40 seconds which feels long when the average units boots up in about 10-15 seconds.

Although there are tons of new POI's, there are some older POIs that are missing for whatever reason I am not sure, but the POI seems to be different not necessary a lot more but just more new categories.

Over all, this unit is highly recommended for the features it has to offer, the sturdy routing and the Magellan legendary ease of use.

Ethernet Cables - frustration-fre, cat5e

The AmazonBasics RJ45 Cat5e Ethernet cable is an excellent value when compared to name-brand cables from the likes of Belkin and others. You get the same quality cables but for less money. You no longer have to take the risk of buying random generic cables in order to find the best value. My only reservation is that Amazon's warranty is an anemic 1 year. Belkin typically offers a lifetime warranty on their cables. Every now and then cables go bad, but it's pretty rare unless you abuse the connectors.

The PVC shielding is flexible enough so that you can wrap the cables easier. The RJ45 connector clips have a snag-free design so when pulling your cable from the tangled mess of other cables, it will not snag or break off. They are also gold-plated to resist corrosion but I have never had Ethernet cables corrode on me. I have crimped thousands of feet of Ethernet cables for work but none as nice as these.

Cat5e is limited to 328 feet, just like Cat5. Cat5e however, will support gigabit Ethernet (1000Base-T) better than Cat5 because of stricter specs on far end crosstalk. Gigabit Ethernet was designed for use with Cat5 but is more typically used in 10/100Base-T networks.

If you are looking for pre-made Ethernet cables, I highly recommend the AmazonBasics cables without any reservation whatsoever. All my future Ethernet cable purchases will only be AmazonBasics cables with the hope that they offer more color choices. AmazonBasics RJ45 Cat5e Ethernet Patch Cable (50 Feet / 15.2 Meters)

I use this Ethernet Cable to connect my Roku to my computer to stream Netflix. The connection cable is very solid, unlike other cables that don't fit right. Streaming is great and I haven't had a problem at all. Excellent price too!

Basic Review: Technical highlights are provided by others. When searching Amazon for network cables before coming across this one, I read other reviews by people who were disappointed with their purchases. This was because they thought that they were getting something similar to this product, when in fact, what they were getting was custom made or just the individual pieces. If you are looking for a no hassle network cable just like you would find in a retail store, then look no further. Not only are there no problems, but this cable is much cheaper than you would find in an ordinary store. I am currently using it as I type this review.

Cable is fine - no problems. The design of the plug, however, is a bit of a bother. The flexible, beige protector tab coming from the cable side of the plug makes sense - it is there (presumably) to protect the clear tab at the top of the plug - the one that "clicks" when you insert the cable into the jack. The problem is, the beige protector tab is too long. So when you plug it into certain jacks, the beige protector tab is not only in the way, it makes it more difficult to press down on the clear, clicking tab so you can take the plug out of the jack.

What should be a "benefit" wasn't tested in enough jacks. The packaging might be "frustration-free," but the product itself has frustration built in. Not a big deal, but I won't buy this cable again.

I bought this cable for a few bucks more than a generic cable, for quality reasons. An ethernet cable will work regardless of its quality (it's just a cable), but many cheaper cables have much crappier wire coverings and its extremely annoying to remove the heads once you connect them. With this cable however, the heads are easy to remove, and the casings very high quality. If I have need of another hdmi cable, I'll buy these again for sure.

Just wanted to leave feedback for the great cables, they are also and packaged with all recyclable packing and also easy to open. Very good cables and ordered many in the past and when i need more i will be back!! - Frustration-fre - Rj45 - Amazonbasics - Cat5e'

Urban Homesteading

I'm a landscaper, and so come to most gardening books from a design perspective - I look at the photos and read some of the text, but not all. This book is different. While the photos are attractive and appropriate, the text is so packed full of intense tutorials and ways of re-thinking our relationship with, well, everything, that I had to slow down and read carefully to get the most from this book.

While the philosophical sections are non-preachy and inspiring, the meat of the book is in the suggestions and simple how-tos that make all aspects of homesteading seem doable, fun and attractive. You can learn to:

garden vertically

make and plant a seed ball

create your own self-watering container

plant an herbal medicine chest in your garden

grow potatoes in a barrel or trash can

grow mushrooms

make your own cultured butter or cheese

attract pollinators to your garden

make your own natural, safe pesticides

keep rabbits

choose and keep goats

harvest edible weeds

build a solar drying rack

ferment your own sauerkraut and make your own naturally-bubbly sodas

figure out your soil type

build a composting toilet

harvest rainwater

This book is clearly destined to stay in my shelf for a long, long time. While none of the articles will make you an expert on the topic, after trying a few of these projects, you'll realize you don't need to become an expert in order to live lightly on the land, make your own healthy foods and simple medicines for basic ailments, and become more independent and self-reliant. Each of the how-tos is simple enough to get you started successfully on a new path and give you confidence to do things in a new way.

If you want to buy just one book on how to live lightly on the land even with limited money or space, this is the book to start with. I was blown away by how thorough it is. And while my political beliefs may be different from that of the authors, I didn't find their philosophies overbearing or preachy. Their genuine desire to see us all become confident, productive people able to take care of our own needs is evident, and makes their writing attractive for people from any background. Urban Homesteading: Heirloom Skills for Sustainable Living

I only bought this book as a protest against the Dervais family's copyright of the phrase Urban Homesteading (I also bought another wonderful book here - The Urban Homestead. Anyway, as I began to read this book, I was really sucked in by the wonderful photos and ideas about things I can do here on my own homestead. I highly recommend this book. Lots of great info and ideas. I have never been so invigorated and excited.

The only negative I would give this book is not really a negative at all. With so much information, and so many ideas, it's hard to know "where do I start", but that's what I have ThoughtOffice for, right?

I was inspired by the section which teaches us how to transform our ornamental or boring yards into food production area - starting with bringing life to the soil.

Just this week I made the ricotta cheese with organic whole milk. Best. Ricotta. Ever. Absolutely MADE the lasagna (although it was an amazing recipe - (Google: "World's Best Lasagna"). I am looking forward to making the cultured butter (I now make regular, non-cultured butter from organic whole cream, which is delicious). The nice thing about cultured butter is that the buttermilk, which is a byproduct, can be used to culture cheese, make buttermilk pancakes, bread, dressing ect. Non-cultured buttermilk cannot.

I have the 2 specialty ingredients for feta cheese on order and cannot wait to stop paying for store bought, bland feta. Our household goes through a lot of feta - this is going to be a very good thing. Tomorrow I make mozzarella cheese (not in the book, but it's easy to find directions online, and it uses much of the same things you use to make the dairy recipes in the book).

I have been rereading the section on bee-keeping, raising rabbits, preserving and storing food, and many others which I won't bore you with. Bottom line - get this book. You'll be happy you did.

This is a great book. It is simply, a great book. It's also a great book if you need motivation or information on moving toward self and community sustainability. Or if you need to see that people are actually doing the sustainability things you only hear about. I already make much of my own food, have a CSA farm share, milk from a cow share, I ferment my own veggies, grow a garden, etc. I really didn't think this book would teach much. After all, I'm already ahead of the curve when it comes to sustainability...(or so I thought).

Well, I was wrong. Thankfully and delightedly wrong!! Not only did I learn about things I had no idea about before (composting toilets? rainwater systems? companion planting?) but she gives diagrams and instructions on how to actually go about it. I was SO excited to start new projects and keep going on my current ones. Keep moving towards one-ness with self, community and environment. Keep learning more and more about how to grow things in my area. Keep talking to others in my community to improve relations. Keep bees!

As the industrial food system keeps plugging away, creating more and more disease and pollution and public outcry, we can STILL MAKE A STAND by bucking the system and doing it ourselves. Who says you have to purchase food at a huge chain grocery store? Who says you can't see how your meat becomes meat? Who says you have to stay ignorant about food safety and storage? Who says you can't feed yourself??? It's down right un-American to assume we have to have others do it for us! We are smarter than that!!!

And this book gently, beautifully and lovingly explains it all. The pictures alone are worth the price of admission.

I'm (im)patiently waiting for the second book to come out....'

Yoga Tart - dance workout, ballet and dance

I have a necessity for arm warmers since I get susceptible to the harsh AC conditions in my workplace. My fingers and toes easily turn into ice. (Seriously, and I live in Honolulu where they hike up the AC to 60 because its like 90 outside). Although I dare not wear these to work for fear of dirtying them, these are just perfect to wear under my baby tees, light sweaters, and hoodies. I love to accesorize so these are just wonderful to wear with my favorite pair of jeans, casual dresses, and cute tops. The color is so vibrant and pretty and the quality is just superb! I love the thumb holes because a lot of arm warmers I had didn't have these and I felt handicapped without them. I also had very loose arm warmers so I had to hoist them up constantly and it was very annoying. (They are going in the trash now). These arm warmers are very stretchy and tight at the same time so they don't pose that kind of annoyance to the wearer. Thank you so much for your awesome products! Keep up the GREAT work, KD DANCE!!! New York Black High Quality KD dance Arm Warmers, Durable & Soft On Skin Stretch Knit with Thumb Hole, Cell Phone Texting Chic, Made In New York USA

True story: I'm a graduate student in Louisiana, and this evening I was walking to the library around dusk. It was that time of day when the sky turns dimly blue, and it's hard to spot details or colors. So, I'm walking along, and a guy sitting about 20 feet away calls out, "Hey, girl with the green shirt: I like your arm warmers!"...and I say, "Thanks..." and keep walking, when he shouts, "Hey! My friend [the girl sitting next to him] wants to know where you got them, or if you made them yourself?!"...So I turned back, and told her right where to click on Amazon to find these coveted cozies. Long story short, even in the near-dark, people sitting *20 feet away* were so smitten with these long, sleek, sophisticated, and cute arm warmers (mine are a delicious charcoal grey) that they just had to know where they could find a pair of their own. Now *that's* impressive! A bonus detail I love about this item is the slightly looser, ribbed cuff that accentuates the top end of them - it adds a touch of elegance. Highly recommend these - so perfect for spring, when you want to wear a lightweight shirt, and never know when a cool breeze might come along. - Sexy - Ballet And Dance - Dance Workout - Low Rise'

Interior Folders - folder accessories, file folders

I needed to buy 15 boxes of legal hanging file folders, 25 per box. Therefore, I searched all the major office supply online vendors, including Amazon, and this was the best price. I got my 15 boxes.

These are great hanging file folders. I prefer the recycled green ones for several reasons. I like the way they look - all business, they use recycled paper and they're less expensive.

The large tabs are very good. One can write a longer title for the tab or even leave space and reuse the same tab by crossing out what was written and using the remaining space. I write on these tabs rather than use a label maker because I'd rather save time and go with my own legible printing, but that's a personal choice.

Pendaflex is a big name in hanging file folders. You can't go wrong because there's nothing wrong that I can see with these. They're just as strong as all the green file folders you've ever used. That's why price matters. I recommend this product. Pendaflex Essentials Hanging Folders, 25 Per Box, 1/3 Cut, Legal, Green (81621)

What's to say? Pendaflex has been around a long long time, and knows how to make a quality product. Believe it or not, there is a difference; others I bought have plastic top bars, which bend and break with anything other than very thin file folders. These have metal, and really hold up, and the price was very competitive. - File Folders - Office Supplies - Pendaflex - Folder Accessories'

Personal Protection - safety, personal protection

This book covered alot of information in great detail. The information on the legal ramifications was very good. The advise on contacting an attorney before talking with the police or allowing them to search your car or home was very important. In fact, there was a tremendous amount of information contained in the book that was excellent and covered many aspects related to concealed carry in an easily understood style. Concealed Carry Fundamentals

This is a must have book for gun owners who chose to carry or use firearms for home defense. As all responsible gun owners know, the best way to survive a critical life or death situation is to not get yourself in that situation. Michael Martin has raised the bar with this holistic user friendly guide on what you need to know about personal defense. The great illustrations, world class photography and smooth layout of the book make it hard to put down. You will want to keep it handy for all the great references found on each page. Being an NRA Certified, Rifle, Shotgun, Pistol, Personal Protection in the Home, Home Firearms Safety Instructor and Range Safety Officer, I would feel almost negligent if I did not offer this book to students. No matter where in the United States you choose to exercise your second amendment rights, this book is for you and will apply to you! Get it today.

Anyone who carries a concealed handgun for personal protection should read this book. It covers the fundamentals of concealed carry practice, but goes much further than most resources individually. To get all of this infomration in one place, in an easily understandable and well-organized manner would require multiple reference resources (if it could even be done). Mr. Martin runs the carry gamut from why to carry all the way to very effective training exercises to build the skills necessary to do so, safely and with confidence. This is an absolutely invaluable tool.

Have you ever encountered something that screams to be shared with others? In my case this book is one of those times. As an instructor of a musical instrument,I am familiar with all kinds of teaching materials. The interesting thing to me about this book is that while it is an introductory guide to concealed carry,it has something in it for any skill level. If you are interested in learning something new or sharing handgun fundamentals with another person, this is a very good choice for an instructional text. The other reviews are exactly right in their descriptions of the book. However they leave out one important thought. If one could give a book to every person as required reading about handguns this book would be the one.For those who are wondering,I am not related to the author but would be proud to be if it were the case.

"Concealed Carry" covers every aspect of what a person needs to know if he or she has a concealed carry permit. Once you read the legal section you will never want to use your weapon until you think you are about to die. Shooting fundamentals are an added bonus. The presentation and color photos add to the reading and learning experience.

Author Michael Martin did a great job writing this book. The photos and illustrations are informative and easy to understand. I am not new to handguns or concealed carry but still got alot out of this book. This book is for the beginner or the experienced handgunner. This is one of the first concealed carry books I have read cover to cover and went back and reviewed chapters. Put this book on your list to read. FIVE STARS

This book is probably the single best gun book I've seen yet. It covers all critical concealed carry issues, from legal to physiological and mental; covers firearm fundamentals (e.g. safety procedures, different types of guns, gun operation and much more), and does it all with the very highest level of writing and illustration. Frankly, I think this book could be priced higher, given its quality from content to printing, but I'm glad it's reasonably-priced. (It would be nice if Amazon sold it directly.) Five stars, top recommendation. Get it if you're even thinking of carrying, but get it also for a reference of critical gun essentials and safety that you can use to teach other people, while brushing up on your own knowledge.

I am new to the ccw world and I wanted a book that told me about it. I truly enjoyed reading the book. I am looking forward to trying some of the drills in the back of the book. I would recommend this book to anyone who is interested in joining the ccw world we live in today. - Self Defense - Safety - Personal Protection - Self-defense'

7 Port Usb Hub - powered usb hub, hub

This was a cheap USB hub that I was using to connect a hard drive, printer, and keyboard to a laptop. It worked great for about a month, then I noticed the hard drive started disconnecting randomly (A terrible thing when backups are running). Well this morning, about a month after I bought it, it just died completely.

I have it velcro'd to the desk, so it doesn't move. Wear and tear is definitely not the reason for this, It just died. USB Highspeed 7 Port Hub w/ AC Adapter (Silver)

I keep getting emails asking me to review this item. I do a review and it gets removed. I get another email, I do a review, it gets removed. What is this...groundhogdayazon?

I bought two of these and neither one has more than 2-3 ports that work.

They were really inexpensive, so it's really not worth my time to return them.

Will all 7 ports work on the ones you buy? Maybe. Maybe not.

The 7 port hubs at my local retailer are WAY more expensive than these and I'm guessing you get what you pay for.

I sure did.

This was an inexpensive hub. The pictures make it look much sturdier than it is, it's really lightweight and tips over if you plug things into the back 2 ports. Also, I plugged in 2 external self-powered hard drives, a digital camera, an iPod, a memory stick and a PSP, and when I connect the hub to my laptop, at least 1 of the items is not recognized. I don't know why. What I do know is that I stopped using the hub the day after I got it, so if I were you I would just not bother with this hub, as all it really does is take up a space on my power strip.

I LOVE this USB hub.

I do not know if I just got a good product, or I ordered from a different company, but this product is AMAZING! Unlike some other reviews, ALL of my USB ports work and I can run a flash drive perfectly. It seems faster than the ports on my computer. I simply love this product.

It is also very small. I did expect it to be as small as it was. It fits right in the palm of my hand.

Whether it makes a difference or not, I bought from HDE.

My ONLY complaint is that the USB and power cords could have been a little longer. I am going to purchase a cheap USB extender from my local computer stores.

In conclusion, if you willing enough to shell out a few bucks on a USB hub, this hub is PERFECT!

Looks like I bought this about 8 months ago or so... it was a good price, and I have too many external USB optical and hard drives that I always want to share on the network. Right off, if this was connected, the computer wouldn't complete the boot process; the system kind of seemed to get "trapped" looking for Operating Systems, and would hang. No big deal, I restart the computer about 3 times a week, so it was a minor annoyance to plug it back in once the boot process started.

2 nights ago, I went in to my office and saw the on-screen message of a lost connection to the drives that were connected to this while I was off at work. I was simply going to reboot, so I went to disconnect this and found a nice molten pile of plastic that was so hot it had burrowed through the better part of the external DVD drive it was sitting on, and it looked like it was getting hotter.

Good price or not, this is definitely the last product I buy of this brand - I don't know what would have happened in another 10 hours, but am glad I saw it when I did.

1. Within hours of plugging it in, 4 of the ports burned out, leaving me with only 3 left working. These 4 receive power, but no longer connect to the computer.

2. Powered is an overstatement. Depending on the port choice, it can have problems supporting one external hard drive (usb powered) and a USB fan. If the bottom 3 ports on the front (the only ones that still conduct data for me) are used, then more then two hard drives can work... barely. In addition, the included power supply has about 2.5 feet of cord. Not enough to stretch from a desk to a power strip on the ground, meaning I had to rearrange power cords to even get this installed.

3. It's slow. Speed decreases are of course to be expected with a hub, but I think the low power it provides means drives have to spin down more often, meaning seek times are increased.

For 7.50 I probably won't send it back, since it's too much trouble. But I wouldn't buy it again. Here's some I may get when I decide I need all the ports working:

7-Port USB 2.0 Hub, Black

Nu USB 2.0 10 Port Hub (with Power Adapter)

Belkin F5U706 2 in 1 USB 2.0 7-PORT HUB

Yes, all these cost between 20 and 30 dollars, but if you think of this hub as an unpowered 3 port hub, then you begin to understand the price difference.

I bought this "powered" USB Hub to charge an Ipod and a GPS unit. For some reason the power cycled on and off which caused the GPS unit to continually beep and power on & off. Figuring the first unit was defective, I was send a second unit which acted the same. - Compact - Usb Hub - Powered Usb Hub - Hub'

Tilting Wall Mount - tv wall mount, tilting wall mount

We have installed (2) of these mounts. (1) on a 26" LCD and (1) on a 32" LCD. Both installations were easy, with the product meeting expectations. The second mount we installed was missing a couple of minor parts so I sent a quick e-mail to Cheetah mounts. An hour later, I had the 2nd day air tracking number for the remaining parts. While it was frustrating to be missing the parts, I was amazed by the quick response. Cheetah Mounts ALAMLB LCD TV Wall Mount Bracket with Full Motion Swing Out Tilt and Swivel Articulating Arm

I like this mount. It is strong and holds a 30" TV no problem. The extension is very nice and the tilt helps with the glare from the dome light in the ceiling. It can turn all the way to the side and lets the TV face the kitchen counter. Our TV used the inside holes which are VESA 100 but it has wider holes as well so we could use it for a larger TV in the future. A torpedo shaped level comes with it which is now a nice addition to the tool drawer. Basically really liked it. The only issue is the TV being level. The TV tilts just slightly to the right. Enough to bother me. Only annoyance on an otherwise good product.

Update: I called Cheetah about the TV not being level. It turns out the screw behind the TV which controls the tilt Also allows the TV to twist a little. Now our TV is level!

We just mounted a 26" LCD and this mount worked perfectly. Well constructed and super easy to install. Before purchasing I called the company to verify the TV would work with this mount, I was only on hold for a few seconds before speaking with a rep who was more than helpful. I highly recommend, especially at this sale price.

I was trying to save some money on a wall mount and came across Cheatah Mounts which sells mounts that look like the ones you see at a store but waay cheaper. I was excited and ordered. Once delivered, I installed the mount (I have experience installing 3 mounts previously for various TVs). THIS IS THE WORST MOUNT I have ever installed. Installation was easy, but the metal arm sags away from the mount badly, making anything you mount on it crooked. I was really disappointed in this mount. The return policy does not cover shipping, so BUYER BEWARE. CHEETAH MOUNTS LCD TV ARTICULATING ARM WALL MOUNT FOR 23-37" DISPLAYS BLACK

UPDATED: - The company cantacted me by phone expressing their concern about the RMA I requested. The representative was extremely helpful and wanted me to know that it was most likely a manufactuing defect. They sent me the RMA number and shipping label and are giving me a full refund. I was very impressed with their reponsiveness and would consider purchasing from them again as I know that they seem to stand behind their products and have excellent support.

I can't imagine why anyone would rate this poorly. Those that do, are doing everyone else a disservice. I almost passed this one up because the poor reviews and low price made me apprehensive. This mount is well built, well packaged, attractive, easy to install, and how can you beat the price? I can only imagine that those who rated it poorly don't know what they're doing with tools and/or can't or won't follow instructions. For those that complained of insecure and sagging mounts, they probably know nothing about wall construction and didn't bother reading the instructions. YOU MUST INSTALL TO A WALL STUD OR MASONRY!!! For the other mounting complaints, I can only repeat, these people either failed to read the instructions or with no offense intended, are not mechanically inclined. You only have yourself to blame, not the manufacturer. If I ever need another, I will definitely buy this one again.

good price for this mount and is a decent deal. desc says "single stud mount" but mine apparently arrived only with the docs and h/w for installation in a concrete wall....nevertheless with some deck screws we solidly installed it into a stud anyway. mounted a 37" Vizio tv with no difficulty whatsoever. this is definitely strong enough for a 37 lcd w/o prob. seems to be decently made w/good enough materials for this type installation anyway. satisfied enough.

Bought the CHEETAH Articulating wall-mount arm for a 32" LCD TV. Before I mounted it to the wall, which was quite straight forward, I inspected it and checked it over. It seemed as if the arm movements were very tight and difficult, so I loosened the adjustment screws per the instructions. Part of the arm mechanism still seemed very tight and difficult. After installing the arm on the wall and attaching the TV to the arm, I still had difficulty making adjustments for the arm to move smoothly and freely. I never could could get it to the point where the arm moved smoothly. It bound up no matter how much I adjusted it, making it very difficult to move and swing the TV around. Bottom line - the articulating arm doesn't articulate very well at all. Now I have to go through the royal hassle of removing the TV from the wall mount, and removing the mount from the wall to send it back. The other problem I had was not being able to secure the mounting face plate ( the plate that attaches to the TV) adequately to the arm bracket. No matter how much I tightened the face plate bolt, it still moved, which put the TV out of level. This is one product I DO NOT recommend. - Lcd Wall Mount - Tv Wall Mount - Lcd Mount - Tilting Wall Mount'
