Chainsaw Sharpeners

Picked this up to have a secondary grinder to my outdated foley-belsaw. I like that it is extremely similar to the oregon, but alot cheaper in cost. I had to re-tap one screw hole that holds blade guard on due to overzealous paint application and also grind off an aluminum casting nipple that was still on the bottom of the main body that interfered with tilting the chain vise to its forward 10 degree tilt. Those are my only complaints. To me it is very easy to adjust to my different pitch chains. It even comes with 3 grinding wheels for the different pitch chains, more expensive grinders don't even do that! I did not like that it was not made in USA, but the almost all grinders are either made in china or italy. By the way, I got mine from Tractor Supply Company for $129.99 regular price. Hope this helps. Timber Tuff CS-BWM Benchtop / Wall Mount Electric Chain Saw Chain Sharpener

I recieved this as a Xmas gift in 2010... (Thanks Son) The instruction manual is poorly written, but does have a good chain manufacture angle table near the last page so I gave it 4 stars... However, anyone who is semi mechanically inclined will throw it together in no time... It comes with everything you'll need, plus three grinding wheels for different size chains... Prior to this I always had two chains... One on the chainsaw, and one at the local sharpener shop being touched up... This unit is by far the best way to go if you want to maintain your chainsaw chains yourself, and save a few bucks in the long haul... With care in the initial wheel, and angle selections you'll be an expert chainsaw sharpener guy in no time...(Haha) Quick, and accurate is the bottom line on this sharpener... But be aware, this is not a toy grinder, so don't be afraid to wear eye protection while operating it... Plus be careful of the chain teeth as you go because their going to be razor sharp... No extra charge for the safety tip... ~Enjoy~

I received this chain sharpener as a gift a couple of months ago and had my first experience with it this week. As a novice chain sharpener, I would have ranked this unit higher if it were not for the instruction manual. The ease of use of the sharpener is excellent. I was able to assemble it in about a half-an-hour, my only complaint was that one of the plastic guard holes was not drilled accurately and I had to work to get the bolt in. Learning to use the unit however, was an exercise in frustration. The manual is very, very poorly written and the figures are almost, but not quite, worthless. I finally gave up trying to make sense of the instructions and used the chain data to figure out the settings for the sharpener. This took about another half-hour. Once I figured it out, I was able to sharpen two chains in ten minutes. The unit is very quiet, smooth in operation and precise in its cuts. Not bad considering this was the first time I have ever tried this. Overall, this seems like an excellent unit and will probably save me a fortune in chains. For first time users - beware of the instruction manual - it is poor at best.

Overall, a well-constructed sharpener at a great price........

Like others, I discovered the wheel guard screw holes are out-of-line, so I slotted the hole mounting to the motor. The M5-0.8 screw for the other end of the guard is too short when changing the wheel and the guard falls off--use a 16 mm. length M5-0.80, instead. The hub of the rotating blade angle device has casting burrs that make angle change difficult-disassemble and file the mating surfaces for a smoother rotation. And, finally, the "lock screw" for the chain advance stop does not lock--add a nylock nut to the bolt to secure the adjustment.

These are "minor" defects that any machinist can remedy and does not decrease the value of this device. The overall quality and appearance is striking and I really like the "pea green" color.....

Does it sharpen a chain ??? Perfectly.'

Outdoor Table - table, outdoor table

Everything went to gether well on this and the the chairs and chaise lounges. Despite all the complaints I saw on the items before purchasing, these really have proven to be good quality items at great prices. Easy to assemble. My 3 year old little girl helped so it took about an hour longer but we put together 4 chairs, 2 chaises, and the coffee table in about 3 hours. The chaise lounges were very nicely made. That was our favorite itemStrathwood Hardwood Chaise LoungeStrathwood Gibranta All-Weather Hardwood Coffee Table Strathwood Gibranta All-Weather Hardwood Coffee Table

went through three of these and all had large cracks/broken slats. we're done and also going to return the two chairs that go with this set. the two seat bench with cushions that complete the set finally arrived today after being back ordered and it was cracked. good luck to you. what a pain and very frustrating.

I bought a complete eight peace sectional seating & this table for my patio. This furniture & Table are everything I was wanting, low cost, good quality and good style. The cushions are very nice and comfortable. The parts are some what time consuming to assemble, but it's not bad. I would recommend a ratchet alien wrench not the provided alien wrench; it will kill your fingers. I would recommend this sectional seating to anyone. I just now need to get some nice pillows for it and it will be complete. 100 % HAPPY

I ordered this coffee table together with a pair of armchairs and a double seat bench 10 days ago, and until

now I received two chairs in good shape, but in a separate shipment, two coffee tables, both damaged due to the improper packaging : one with 3 or 4 wooden stripes on the table top broken and the other with an 6 inch crack on the surface. I've asked for return twice but didn't get any response. Now I am still waiting for the third item the bench which will arrive after 3/18/2011. Well, I am a long time Amazon buyer, and this is something new that I seldom experienced. Hope I can get help soon! Thanks.

I have this table and two of their benches on my roof deck. They look pretty good and are durable enough that they can be left outside. After 1 season, there's no fading. I'm very satisfied with the table.

I just received my coffee table and put it together under indoor light. I then took it outside and saw a 7-inch crack in the top, significant enough to allow 4 slats to move freely side to side. I decided to glue the cracked portion back together rather than hassle with a return. But for this defect, this table would be a five star.

I bought the whole set (2 chairs table and love seat) I love the look of it. It was the best price I could find for anything like this. Over all I'm happy with it, but there was some issues (You get what you pay for) Every piece had at least one issue with the hardware or milling. The table was the easiest and had the least problems out of everything.

I never checked the measurements before I bought it and was surprised at how big it was. Great if you have a few people using it to put food or drink on. My only complaint is its a bit high, it sits higher then the seats of the chairs. Which to me looks a bit off. I was debating on cutting a few inches off the legs. Other then that I'm very happy with it.

I get compliments on the set from everyone who sees the set, and they are all shocked when I tell them how much I paid for it.

I BOUGHT 2 TABLES BY STRATHWOOD....THEY'RE BEAUTIFUL, WELL MADE, ALL PARTS WERE THERE AND THEY ARRIVED VERY QUICKLY AND AM LOOKING FOR THE CHAIRS TO GO WITH THEM, BUT IT SEEMS AS THOUGH THEY AREN'T MADE ANYMORE..... - Furniture - Outdoor Furniture - Outdoor Table - Table'

Clean Lcd Screen - apple monitor, dell monitor

I was skeptical at first, but this stuff really does work great! I use it to clean the screen on my powerbook for the most part. But it also works great on my ipod and my digital camera! It's safe to use on electronics. You won't be disappointed. Monster MBL CLNKIT-SM Screen Clean Mini [Traditional Packaging]

I tried Apple Polish, iClear and plain water. They all left my MacBook screen streaky. But thanks to the other reviews here, I bought this product, and it works wonderfully. The screen looks like new! No streaks, no smears, just a beautiful, shiny screen.

While I can't compare this product's effectiveness to that of other screen cleaners, as this is the first one I've ever used, this product works amazingly well and restored my LCD to its original glory.

I bought this based on the other reviews, specifically mentioning the Powerbook, because my MacBook Pro screen was extremely dirty, with streaks on it that clearly annoyed during movie playback. It arrived, and voila, my MacBook Pro's screen looks factory new.

The solution lets out a bit of a foamy soap when rubbed in, and it just works wonders. The only thing is, this product is quite expensive. Not surprising considering it's a "Monster" product.

I bought this over some of the cheaper cleaners upon the advice I read within some of the bad reviews for those cleaners. I was not disappointed. Although a bit more expensive, this stuff really works nicely. Make sure you use a high quality micro-fiber cloth (a small one was included) to avoid any scratching. This works perfectly and leaves you with a factory fresh screen in terms of the look.

This Monster product works very well, it cleaned my 19" Dell flatscreen desk monitor without incident, and left the screen in pristine original condition. Usually I avoid Monster products like the MonsterCables because they are so outrageously priced, but since this is priced competitively I bought it. You get two bottles of the solution, so it seems like this package will last me forever. The microfiber cloth that comes in the package is good quality and is easily cleaned after use with plain soap and water.

After 2 applications on my apple laptop..still smear!! Used their towel that was included. Do I try a third application? Just don't agree with the other reviewers with my experience. I was really looking for some magical stuff after reading all of the positives. But was disappointed to say the least. i wouldn't give water 1 star!!

It sounds silly but I really had no idea how dirty my laptop screen was until I the Monster Screen Clean. No streaks, smudges, etc. Don't forget the microfiber cloth; it is necessary!!! If you work on a computer all day you need this!!! - Monitor Cleaner - Apple Monitor - Clean Lcd Screen - Dell Monitor'

Levis Jeans - carhartt, levis jeans

I am not a "jeans" guy... I never wore jeans, always cargo pants or something else. I thought I would try these because I really like Carhartt work pants.. Anyway. These are great. fit good, feel good.. and i'm all about the cargo pockets!! They are super well built and will last a long time i am sure. Carhartt Mens Relaxed Fit Carpenter Jean, Dark Stone, 32x34

This is a follow up on the size of the jeans, the length remains the same but the size is smaller. Levis 32W is 34W for Carhartt, but if you have some junk in the trunk, its a 36W. The jeans are wonderful, but it's made for men with average to no tush. Carhartt makes the best jeans for work and I still have a jacket from Carhartt from 20 years ago.

Purchased these jeans as christmas gift, shipping was quick however jeans didn't fit. If purchasing Carhartt jeans for the first time online, be sure to go to the store and try them on first. They run very small compared to Levi's. Carhartt is great quality material, but found out the hard way that their sizes run small.

Your ad is confusing. The title says 30" and then pick other measurement. One would think that the first measurement would be waist and second length as this is how we size in store. However, you have it reversed and 32 x 30 were sent. I had to return and I purchased elsewhere. - Levis Jeans - Loose - Carhartt - Jeans'

Do It Yourself - motorcycle, magazine

The Horse features real world builds done by talented folks who are often not professional builders. You won't find the 1% wannabe if-it-ain't-a-Harley-it-ain't-wortha-S**t focus seen in most other chopper publications. It also doesn't cover those unridable billion dollar 'all-show and no-go' glitter monsters.

What you will find is an esoteric mix of reader-submitted builds utilizing Hondas, HDs, Yamahas, Triumphs, etc. You can even see WW-II era Urals brought back to life as Russian bobbers.

Yeah, it's a little spendy when compared to other bike mags because they aren't raking in the big advertising bucks from the bolt-on, after-market chrome crowd. If you are a grease covered, torch and sawzall creative type who loves motorcycles, forget all those other rags, THIS is the publication for you. Horse Backstreet Choppers

This rag does a great job covering all bikes. They are all about chopping bikes(hence the name) I wish i had been turned on to them long ago. They cover foreign and domestic bikes. What they also believe strongly in is a billet barge is dumb. I also agree. This is for people who work for a living and work on their bikes. You don't have to be Indian Larry's little cousin to know what they are talking about. And there is always an article about how to hack something.

One thing that seems to be not too great about it is the guys writing editorials. One guy hates the world and gets paid to dribble the same story every month. And then there's the guy who goes on a trip through Europe it seems like every year. But doesn't say anything other than "I am getting paid to do this by you, thanks for subscribing". Which gets annoying. All in all I love the mag though. And both of those guys seem great, I would love to hang out with them, they just don't have any competition so they don't go too far out there in the realm of quality writing.

All in all dont use that as an excuse to not buy it. I just don't want to write a review saying the rag is perfect, it isn't. But it is the best out there by a mile.

This is it. Choppers that resemble the working man's desire to create cool one off pieces of moto art that actually will make it cross country if needed. No floofy, over done, chrome plated packages of P.O.S.'s that you see every bike night at Applebee's with a content owner proudly wearing his brand new HD jacket and full leather's on a 80 degree evening. Nope. Not here. What you get is inspiration at it's truest form for dyed in the wool, custom motorcycle fiends. This magazine amazes me every issue and can give anyone hope of making thier own scoot a reflection of themselves and the lives they lead through countless hours of fabrication and dedication. Long live GTP and the staff at The Horse!!!

This is a good mag if you want to see pics of home-built rides.

Pro: Not all HDs...Good mix of import bikes too. Nobody trying to make their bikes look like a F'n dragon or spiderman or some other crap.

Con: Zero tech info on the bikes or useful how-to articles. Just a bunch of stories about dudes "livin to ride" and gayin' it up calling each other "bro" and givin out man hugs, high fivin' and bumpin' knuckles.

Did I mention the pics are good?

Horse Backstreet Choppers

I have been reading and supporting the Horse Magazine for a long time and it is still the best and most real chopper mag out there. The layout and content is awesome. And if you ever wanna check out these guys and the bikes live, I highly recommend hitting the Smokeout Events. I rode out to the last Smokeout West in AZ and am so glad that I did. These guys rock.

Paparider asked me to subscribe to this for Christmas for him. He is not always able to find it on the newstand because it sells out so fast! Now he will have it in his mailbox every month (and then I can read it after him... :-0 ) - Magazine - Do It Yourself - Motorcycle - Chop'

Usb To Parallel Adapter Cable - cable, usb

I bought this cable so that my 7-year old HP LaserJet 1100A printer would work with my new HP computer with Vista...even HP told me that there was nothing that would make the printer work! It DOES work and no need to override the printer driver already in the new Vista software! Cables To Go 16899 USB To DB25 IEEE-1284 Parallel Printer Adapter Cable, 6 Feet

My PC recently died and I replaced it with a new iMac with Mac OSX 10.5. I love my LaserJet 4 since it is so reliable and cheap to operate, and didn't want to rely exclusively on my inkjet printer. I decided to give this cable a try since it had good reviews. I took a risk using it on a Mac since it didn't state that it supported Macs, but it ended up working perfectly.

Installation was a breeze. Note that this cable does not plug directly into the printer, but plugs into the computer end of the existing parallel cable. I'm OK with that since it gave me more length. When I plugged it in, the Mac recognized it as a new printer with a generic driver. All I needed to do was change the driver to the HP LaserJet 4 driver and it worked fine.

I initially tried plugging this into a USB hub, but it only worked for a couple of sheets and then gave me a message that the printer was offline. I then plugged it directly into the Mac and it has worked perfectly since then. I also have another Mac and a PC on the network and they recognize the printer and print fine.

This cable is an ADAPTER for your existing printer cable. It will not plug into a centronics port. However, when combined with my existing printer cable, it worked great! I didn't even have to take any extra steps to add my HP Laserjet 6 printer to Windows XP.

I have an HP Laserjet 4L which is about 14 years old and I really did not want to part with it so I bought this parallel printer cable. I have four laptops, three with Windows XP and one with Vista Business. Like a good customer I followed the instructions that came with the cable but I could NOT get anything to print. I did a little research on the web and found the solution:

1. Do not install any printers or drivers or anything. Windows already has the drivers for HP printers.

2. Make sure your computer is turned OFF.

3. Plug the cable into the printer (printer is ON).

4. Plug the USB end of the cable into your computer.

5. Turn the computer on and the computer will do everything for you.

Verify that your printer is installed and print a test page. Set the printer as the default printer if needed. It was that EASY. This worked on each of my laptops. I'm really happy with this product - it was inexpensive, the print quality is excellent, and the print jobs even come out a bit faster!

The best advice I can give someone is to do just what you are right now: read online reviews! Lots of them. Go to the online sellers that have reviews (amazon, buy, new egg). You will eventually have to realize that the well-known name brands are more likely to work, but failures seem to be totally random and unpredictable. So be prepared to return it for a refund. I really think the manufacturers must be aware of the problems and they are choosing not to warn us.

I tried this adapter on four different printers and it only worked on one, which was, luckily, the one I really NEEDED it to work on. I also bought a cheap, no-name adapter off eBay which would not work at all and had to be returned.

I have a PowerMac running Tiger (OS X 10.4) and a Apple Laserwriter. Initially, print jobs would print, but only the first one after powering on the printer; subsequent jobs would fail. This was unacceptable. It turned out, however, that I needed to reinstall and update the OS on my MAC, and after that, printing was just fine with this adapter. There is a freeware print buffer enhancer called 'usbtb' which supposedly assists in this situation; I tried this and it prevented me from printing altogether!

I have a friend who has an iMAC running Leopard (OS X 10.5) and he has 3 HP printers. He and I were hopeful that this adapter would work for him and we decided to test it before he bought one. The Laserjet 2100 would just print blank pages. The old LaserJet 2P+ would not do anything. The LaserJet 4L would occasionally print something, but most jobs would not print and we could not really find any rhyme or reason behind this. So my experience is 25%, but even that is seeing it optimistically.

What's wrong with these things? All I can figure is that printer drivers/firmware at each end of the cable are not all that robust and have some tight communication timings such that an adapter like this will introduce slight time delays that can throw things off.

I purchased a new Dell computer with Vista and was surprised to see that it didn't have the 25 pin printer port as all my previous computers had. I have an HP Laserjet 1100 and didn't want to have to throw it out given it works perfectly fine. This adapter cable was easy to install and Vista had no problems identifying it. The adapter comes with instructions which you must follow to properly install the cable and attach the printer. Worth the money!!! - Printer - Usb - Parallel - Cable'

Netflix Streaming - iphone, video

While looking for an alternative to Apple's Component AV and Composite AV Cables each priced at $39, a product from SKIVA appeared on Amazon. Their MEDIAADAPTER combines both for less than the cost of one of Apple's cables.

The unit is shipped with two AV cables, a USB adapter and the adapter that plugs into the iPad/iPod/iPhone connector. The AV cables plug into the adapter in clearly marked sockets while the USB adapter plugs in between them.

Switches on the unit allow for Composite, Component, NTSC/PAL and 16:9/4:3 aspect ratios. The latter two handy for foreign travel and connecting to older CRT TVs.

Simply plug the adapter in the connector on the bottom of the iPad/iPod/iPhone and Component or Composite cables into the TV. The audio cables are common to both, so if using Component inputs on the TV, connect the red, green and blue cables and the red and white audio cables to the TV. If Composite is being used, connect the red and white audio cables and the yellow video cable.

As of now, Netflix, Youtube and Apple's iPod and Video apps support video out. It is up to the app developers to support video out, not SKIVA.

The MEDIAADAPTER works as advertised. This is a great product that allows connecting an iPad/iPod/iPhone at home or more importantly, while traveling or going to someone's home or at work to show videos to a group. Included is a Quick Start Guide that is clearly written.

Customer support? I had a question and sent an e-mail. It was answered almost immediately. Skiva Component+Composite Video / AV Cable for iPhone, iPad2, iPad & iPod

I purchased this media adapter for my iphone 4. I always had a hard time putting things on TV Screen. i was looking for cheaper alternative. i was surprised to see the quality of this product. Audio and video quality is great. i was planning to buy this cable ever since i bought my new iphone. Most of the cables in market are not compatible with new iphones but this cable work perfectly. This product is real value for money. i can play my iphone movies anytime on my TV. Its so good.. They shipped it very quickly. The manual was simple to understand. It was packed very nicely. i will recommend this product as 'MUST HAVE' for all IPHONE, IPAD and IPOD users.

I purchased this composite/component cable to use with my iPod. This cable is simple to use & it works! I just followed the very simple instructions on its Quick Start Guide. The audio/video quality on TV is excellent, just as it plays on the iPod. As I worked around the house, I switched to play my iPod music on TV via this cable & the sound quality is very clear. I also took the cable with me when I visited my friends' houses to show off the videos I took on my vacation. It also has a USB port for power, so I can charge my iPod directly. I like this product because of its ease of use, its great quality, its portability and also its affordability. The shipping is very quick too, as the product was shipped the very next day after I ordered.

I got this adapter cable a few weeks back for my iPhone4. We have many videos on our iPhone that we wanted to view on our HDTV. Videos/pictures from traditional cameras can be viewed on our HDTV using the USB ports of the TV, but that does not work for iPhone.

The (free) shipping was reasonably fast; I got it within a week or so. The package consists of an adapter that plugs in to the iPhone's port. There are two sockets on the adapter. One marked as "component" and the other one as "composite". There are two cables: one that goes in the composite socket and the other one does in the component socket. For composite videos (which works on all TVs, but of poorer quality), only the composite cable goes to your TV (i.e., three plugs will go to the TV). For component videos, _both_ cables need to be plugged in to the TV (total 5 plugs). There are four buttons on the adapter: one switches between NTSC (North american standard) and PAL (in Europe/India); one switches between 4:3 and 16:9 formats, and the last two are for selecting component or composite video. This also gives you a mini-USB port (mini-USB to USB cable is included) with which you can keep your iPhone charging if you plan to watch long videos.

Pros: The product is extremely easy to use. Truly plug-and-play. Start a video on your iPhone (stored one, or netflix) after plugging in the cables as per the Quick start card included in the package (and select the input of your TV to the appropriate input if the TV does not pick up automatically), your video will start. Click on the format selector -- your video switches from 4:3 format to 16:9 and vice versa. No hassle. The video quality is very good.

Cons: The documentation/set-up guide can certainly improve. You need to go by the colors when you plug in the cables so that you plug-in the composite and component cables correctly both at the adapter side and at the TV side. Given that there are two red plugs (which is the standard, by the way), it gets confusing. The quick start card is too small, and I suspect many buyers would not quite try to understand it. However, once you get past the cable setup, the thing does work beautifully.

An unexpected limitation seems to be that you cannot use this to view (still) pictures; this is for videos only. Although the product is not advertised for anything other than video, I found it odd.

A minor complaint is that the buttons are placed (on the sides) in such a way that it is very easy to accidentally press the NTSC/PAL button, or the 16:9/4:3 button while switching from composite to component mode (or vice versa).

Given that setup is an one time task, I am still giving the product a 5 star for its usability.

===============================

General comments: Netflix or other online video quality can change drastically if the app senses that your wifi/3g connection quality degraded. Also not all applications have Video out (e.g., Hulu does not). None of these are the product's issue, though. - Video - Iphone - Ipod - Ipod Av Cable'

Sdhc Extreme - photography, memory cards

Background you can skip

I purchased a new DSLR, an upgrade from my trusted Nikon D50: the D90.

I wanted to get the fastest and most suited 8GB card to accompany my shoots and needed something that would keep up with the Nikon's 30MB/s capability.

After wandering the web for the best card I found the following information: "the cards offer a 50 percent speed boost from 20MB/s cards, and the Nikon D90 is the industry's first dSLR to take advantage of the speed.

That means that with the 30MB/s Extreme III, the D90 can record 39 6MB JPEG images at 4.5 frames per second in continuous shooting mode. Getting them off is almost as fast, too, when used with SanDisk's new ImageMate Multi-Card USB 2.0 reader/writer."

Note that some reviewers on here gave the card a bad rating because of lack of speed. However, it is his own equipment that is the bottle neck so that is not the best of sources to judge on.

This card is fast fast fast in my D90 and I have since purchased a spare one.

In short:

PROS

- LEADING EDGE IN SPEED

- PERFECTLY COUPLED WITH NIKON D90

CONS

- EXPENSIVE

CONCLUSION:

For the serious prosumer this is a must have for your D90 or other capable camera. Sandisk 8GB Extreme SDHC Card-Class 10 (SDSDX3-008G-A31)

I had an "older" version that was not 30mb speed and i was sceptical about the claim of extra speed, but wow a big difference.

when shooting camera is ready for next shot and the big deal is when you upload to your computer, now there is where i really noticed the speed and cost difference. uploads like a snap.

good card for the price on amazon and of course very fast delivery with amazon.

DO NOT ORDER, this is mis-advertised on the Amazon site. I just received this card, and even though Amazon advertises it as the Extreme III card in the description, it is actually an earlier version Extreme card from SanDisk. I put the card in my Canon Vixia HF200 video camera, and the camera claims the card can only write at a max of 12 mb/s, despite the claim on Amazon and on the SanDisk packaging that it can read at 30 mb/s!!! I have a 4 GB Extreme III card, which the Canon can write to at 24 mb/s, so I know the problem is with the card, not the camera.

My old card was an 8GB class 6 card. I am using a Nikon D90. I bought this card so that I could shoot at 4.5fps for longer. It does make a difference, but not that much of one. Once the buffer on my camera fills up, my high speed shooting is over until the buffer can empty. Obviously this card helps the buffer empty faster, but it won't let me start shooting again until it is too late. If you are shooting at high speed because if you don't then you will lose your shot, then you will lose your shot your buffer fills up, even with this card.

Most of this would probably change from camera to camera. The card is good, but I haven't done any benchmarks to see if it really lives up to what it claims.

I bought this card to go with my new Canon Rebel and am 'extreme'ly pleased with it. I don't have the technical equipment to check actual write speeds but honestly, does it matter to most of us? Not really. It has a super fast write speed, I can shoot in continuous without skipping a beat. I have had no problems with it at all.

Be careful when purchasing cheaper SD cards for a Digital SLR. Having purchased the new Canon Rebel T1 to replace my XT, I thought I could get away with a Transend card. However, the size of the image files when taking a burst of photos would bog the camera down preventing me from taking other shots. The Write Speed was just way too slow... enter the Sandisk Extreme III. All I can say is wow, the card is fast, very fast and I was able to shoot over 170 pictures of may daughter golfing yesterday with 0 delays.

SanDisk Extreme series cards have been the best since they came to the market. These are the only cards I will rely on. 16/8/4 GB 30mb/s cards you can be confident in. I carry 2 8GB cards and 2 2GB 20mb/s cards as a backup. If something were to happen these cards come with recovery software that works. I've actually used the software on a Transcend card I occasionally use when I'm too lazy to empty these to my computer. I've never had to use recovery on the SanDisk itself though.

This card easily keeps up with a D90 w/o battery grip. You may notice a slight pause after 12-13 shots equal to maybe 1 full missed frame while shooting in fine jpeg. You will probably miss a frame about every 6-8 shots if shooting in RAW. If you're shooting RAW+JPEG you don't care about speed anyway :p

I posted my inital review for the right product under a different supplier. My bad sorry, but I did purcase this card as you can see with the verified purchaser tag.

I have an Nikon D90. I purchased the 8G San Disc Extreme III card 30MB/S and a Transcend 16G class 6 card at the same time. The San Disc Extreme 3 card is incredibly fast. I get 100 pictures (4.5 frames per second) at fine resolution before the camera stops to buffer in 24 seconds. The Transcend card gets 17 photos on the same settings then pauses to buffer. If you have the camera that can take full advantage of this write speed this fast card is worth the investment. No more cringing while I wait for my camera to clear its buffer so I can take more pictures.

I like to shoot at 4.5 frames. It gives me a lot to pick through when I edit, but a lot can happen in a fraction of a second that can make a photo good or bad. Having the capability to hold down the shutter release and rattle off large bursts of photos is important to me.

I have found that 8G is a good size for SLR Photography. In my opinion bigger cards are putting a lot of eggs in one basket.

I posted a video test demonstrating this products incredible write speed. You can find it by clicking on my name and searching for this product. I'd repost it here but I deleted from my computer.

I have been using the card for several months. I have about 10 different cards that I use and I can honestly say that this is my favorite. In addition to writing fast it emptys a lot faster which comes in handy when I'm in a hurry to leave the house with my fastest card and it's full of pictures. I have not had any write/read errors. I'd get another one, but I know the price on this model will continue to fall. - Photography - 8gb - Memory Cards - Sandisk'

Digital Camera

BOTTOM LINE:

With each generation, Canon makes the ELPH series easier to use and still get great results. Like it's predecessors, this one fits easily into your pocket (or the case I recommend toward the end of this review). That point alone may make this the best camera you own; having a $5k DSLR doesn't do you much good if you left it home because it wasn't worth the effort to lug it along.

However, unlike many other small cameras, this one does not sacrifice either features or quality. Well, it does give up on any reasonable manual control, things like setting shutter speed, lens aperture, ISO. What access you do have to that level of control is buried deep inside menus. It took Canon a while to realize that for most of us, if we wanted to fool with that kind of thing on a regular basis, we would be using a different camera. This camera is designed to leverage convenience over extreme control or nth degree quality.

DETAILS:

It is a small camera and carries with it the baggage that comes with the convenience of having to carry so little baggage. (sorry, couldn't resist) None of the issues raised, given that they comes as part of the convenience trade-off made me consider anything other than the 5-star rating this camera deserves.

One issue with all small cameras is the built-in flash. They are all underpowered and create red eye. Both problems are caused by the need to keep the camera small; the flash needs to be small and positioned close to the lens. Canon addresses it by putting in some really good noise reduction so you (actually the camera) can shoot at a relatively high ISO in low light allowing for a faster shutter speed. The result is an image that is both low noise and not blurry. And the best part is the camera takes care of all that so you don't have to. As a result you can take pictures in a well lit room without having to use the flash at all.

- The shutter response, as with any small digital camera for less that $500, is a bit slow for effectively capturing children and pets. The trick for doing that is to either have a great sense of timing and a shutter that reacts instantly or a reasonably fast ( > 4x / sec ) burst mode. This camera has neither.

Some other suggestions that apply:

Normally at this point I would put in some details about manually setting ISO or selecting a color space. However, for this camera it just isn't relevant. You are buying this camera because you want to take great pictures without having to worry about that stuff. If you do want to "take your photography to the next level then a great resource is the Confessions of a Compact Camera Shooter: Get Professional Quality Photos with Your Compact Camera.

Finally, I've found the Caselogic QPB-1 Compact Digital Camera Case (Black/Gray) is just the right size for this camera. It's semi-rigid so you get a fair amount of protection but doesn't add a lot of bulk. It's made even better by using one of these, Nite Ize SB1-2PK-01 Size-1 S-Biner, Black, 2-Pack, to secure it to a belt loop. Canon PowerShot ELPH 100 HS 12.1 MP CMOS Digital Camera with 4X Optical Zoom (Silver)

Just received my Canon ELPH 100 HS {orange} and I absolutely love it. The camera boots up almost instantly. Installed a 16GB SDHC class 10 card and now have 5000+ 12MB photo capacity or 60 minutes for HD video. The image stabilization at max digital zoom 4X4/16x works great! The camera easily fits in my pocket and is very light @ ~5 ounces.

The Canon's Digic 4 processor & CMOS sensor make this camera truly point and shoot. By default it automatically selects the light level, shaking, target focus, shutter speed, flash/noflash and ISO to pick the optimal scene type. Perfect pictures virtually every time when button is correctly pressed 1/2 way (1) before fully in (2) for photo shot. But be sure to get a class 10 card for the best video.

The only 2 minor problems I believe are:

1) It comes with a 700 mAh 3.7 Volt battery instead of the 1400 mAh 3.7 OEM version which doubles it run-time for 230 photos to almost 500 pictures per charge. This is easily fixed when ordering additional batteries just get the larger mAh capacity ones.

2) The CameraWindow transfer software doesn't automatically delete pictures after they are transferred. Some people like this as not to delete photos improperly transferred.(I do not). Some camera blogs suggest a quick format after transfer is the way to quickly delete photos/video after successful transfer.

However, this is the best point and shoot camera I have used and I still think it's a 5 star camera @ $199 MSRP.

I normally use a Nikon D50 which takes great photos, Im no professional but really enjoy taking pictures of my toddler. Well he broke my Nikon and I sent to see if it could be fixed but wanted to point and shoot because they come in really handy! I reviewed what felt like a million cameras, I touched them and felt them and shot pictures with them and hated every single one! I hadnt seen this one online (cause there werent any reviews) but I went to Shutterbug and they had it, I tried it out and loved it! I've had it for a few weeks and I use it everyday! Pictures always turn out amazing! Our house kinda has crappy lighting and its a major problem with pictures, this camera takes the best pictures by far! (not super grainy looking like others) I also wanted to camera that shoots video. I dont use it to shoot professional quality video but Im impressed! Alot better then my last point and shoot. Also my video does autofocus on video mode, so the other viewer might have had a faulty one cause mine does great. I wasnt looking to spend $200 but I'd do it again in a heart beat!

Pros:

powers on so quick

Picture quality

Picture speed (amazing)

low light pictures

video!

Cons:

....nada'

Marvel Universe - costume, shield

I ordered this to go with my son's Halloween costume. I went for the cheaper version and that is exactly what I got. It cracked within 5 minutes. I should have purchased the more durable version, so he could get more play time out of it playing in his costume after Halloween. Captain America Shield Costume,Diameter: 12.75"

If you are looking for a durable toy and your kid likes Captain America, this is a good toy to pick up.

We got this for our son months ago and he still plays with it all the time! The inside of the shield has solid

straps where they put their arm to hold it like a shield, and the design is awesome. One caveat: If your child knows the character Captain America be sure he knows to throw it outside and not inside the house. While it is made of a hard plastic it

can do some damage to your walls if thrown like Cap does.

Avengers Assemble!

How I wish this was available when I was a kid. We had to use trash can lids to play Captain America back in the day!

This seesm very durable and has been loads of fun for my 4 year old. Would definitely recommend.

Durable! It has been taken just about everywhere with our 5 now 6 year old son. WARNING- the red paint will stay on anything that he accidentally bumps it on... including our BMW! Great construction and a favorite in our house!

product information detailed a costume with a muscle body and hood, but all I got was a cheap plastic shield... got no muscle body or hood or anything else. I can buy the same cheap shield at my local store for 8.00 dollars and no need to wait a week to get it. other reviewers made comments about getting a costume with this order... that's why I placed the order myself. very disappointed. - Cheap - Costume - Shield - Dress Up'

Super Saver Shipping - glass cleaner, stoner

Good product. I got it mainly for the inside windshield on my SUV because it's so hard to get into the corners. This did well for that, but after I used it, thought I was done and put it away I noticed that it did streak. It took using it a couple times to get it right, but now my windshield looks great. I think the problem is that it's hard to get firm pressure on the entire "triangle" cleaning pad. Stoner 95161 Invisible Glass Reach and Clean Tool

So by now all of us have seen the infomercial on a similar piece of hardware to clean our windshields. However I do not tend to buy from TV and thus I came looking on AMAZON. I found this item and it looked a bit better from the one on TV...simply because of the triangular shape in the front which actually does help you to reach the corners of the front windshield.

We have all cleaned windshields and simply put, the front ones are a pain in the neck. You can never reach all the way down without some sort of acrobatic movements. This tool makes it easy...spray the windshield with your favorite glass cleaner and clean it... Yes, it does take a few passes to make it 100% clean. I mean...sit down and use this thing...your back will be thankful and cleaning the car will not be a chore anymore...

The grip is nice and comfortable which makes this feel like a high quality item. It comes with one microfiber and two mesh covers...which are washable and re-usable. The mesh is for hard scrubbing.. :-) where as the microfiber gives it a great finish.

I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone that cleans their own vehicle.

You have probably seen ads on TV for the "Windshield Wonder". That product is a piece of junk compared to this one. It is well-made, has a more convenient shape for corners, and better quality covers. You can even mount it to a standard paint roller extension handle for getting at high windows without the need of a stepladder. Excellent product!

I purchased one of these at the local Meijer, who had it on sale for a mere $ 9.99. I have used the Stoner glass cleaning products for years, and I have found them to be the best products I've ever used for cleaning glass & mirrors, bar none.

This device just isn't sturdy enough to do a decent job, especially in regards to cleaning interior auto windows. Due to an oddly placed hinge, lack of head rigidity, and a need for more padding in the head itself; it is really difficult to produce enough force to properly clean with this product. I have had much better results cleaning glass surfaces with devices with fixed, rigid handles as opposed to this flexible, hinged design. The overall quality of the device itself is quite good, but the practical usage of it doesn't produce acceptable result.

A give the Stone Invisible Glass cleaning products a thumbs up (a HUGE thumbs-up, in fact), but this item gets a thumbs down, as well as a return for a refund.

This windshield cleaner does the job. It's great for getting into the corners and along all the hard to reach spots on windshields. Especially on those sloped interior windshields most modern cars have. On the inside, it's the way to go. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Is it necessary....no. Is it useful...very. I have a very sloped windshield that makes it difficult to get to the bottom of and clean. This tool works great for that. I use a number of Stoner products and you can't go wrong with them.

This item works well to clean inside scum off car windows. I like the triangular shape which makes it easier to get into the

corners of front windshield and back glass. I used this with automotive glass window cleaner, although instructions state

that plain water can be used. My favorite is still the old fashioned sheepskin chamois, but it requires more "elbow grease",

body contortions, and shaping to reach inside glass corners. The Stoner tool is quicker, almost as good at cleaning, and

does not require the prep (wetting, wringing, washing) of a standard chamois.

The tool is OK, it leaves streaks because the pads are thin and not very absorbent. The plastic construction is weak and does not allow you much pressure. However, it is handy for those hard to reach places.

I bought this tool specifically to use on the inside of windshields. I'm pretty sick of the contortions necessary to wash the inside. I saw an ad and decided what the heck. You can buy it from the manufacturer for the same price but they charge for shipping. I also bought the cleaner sold with the tool to give it every advantage (it's pricey), but I'd guess that any decent window cleaner would work just as well. Oh, that's right, this is a review..... As I began to clean the inside of my windshield, I was a little skeptical at how well this was going to work. But, it does make getting into the corners and along the edges (sides and top and bottom) easier. And after having driven post clean-up (the only real test in my opinion), it really did do a nice job. So.... I can't speak for the tools' efficiency at jobs other than the windshield, but I'd certainly recommend it for that. - Stoner - Handle - Glass Care - Glass Cleaner'

Laptop Power Adapters - computer accessories, hp ac adapter

It works... that's about all I can really say about it.

However...

It overheats if its charging an empty/partially drained battery. But if it's just powering a fully charged battery, it's ok. Otherwise, it can literally burn your hand. It got to the point of letting off a melting plastic smell. Not what I would call safe.

As for the cables, extremely short. Keep your old cable that plugs into the outlet. Even the adapter end cable is still really short compared to the OEM version.

And DO NOT TRUST THE PICTURE!!! What you see is NOT what you get. Mine is double the size of what's shown, flimsy plastic construction, weak. It works... that's what I can say. Everything else is just plain bad. 65W Laptop AC Adapter for HP Pavilion DV6 DV7 Series, G60 G60T G70 G70T Series G60-120US G60-125NR G60-230US G60-235DX G70-250US

Honestly, the product is working just fine. However, I have to say there's a bit of false advertisement here, whether it is an accident or some weird mix up. The product page specifies a 90w, 19v 4.74amps power supply. What I got was rated 65w, 18.75v 3.5amp.

Amazon, tell the guy selling this to fix their ad. Sure it works, but if my computer were to ever use up that 65w, then it'll be random shutdown time. I'll be keeping a close eye on this. Expect a follow up...

I ordered a replacement charger for my laptop...they mailed me the wrong size. I called them and requested the correct charger. They said I had to go to the post office, mail back the wrong charger...and pay for return postage, then they would mail me the correct charger (2-3 weeks). What a complete waste of time. I went to Best Buy and got what I needed that afternoon.

I just purchased the 65 Watt AC adapter for my HP DV7 and in 2 weeks the ac adapter died without notice. It was delivered fast and it did work good for 2 weeks. I dont know what phone number or who to contact to get it replaced under some sort of warranty?

The charger works perfectly with my computer. The cable from the adapter to the wall is shorter than the original one, so you may want to keep the old one if it works and you want the longer length. Otherwise, just perfect. Great price for the product!

I purchased this a/c adapter. On the initial plug in.... within 20 mins the charger was so hot, it burned my ankle when i brushed it on accident! My husband didnt believe me, picked it up and dropped it because it was so hot. We immediately unplugged the thing and once it was cool, there was obvious signs of the heat. the labels had started to boil and bubble up!!! THANKFULLY i did not go to bed with it plugged in all night because who knows what could have happened. I do not advise purchasing this a/c adapter. - Computer Accessories - Hp Ac Adapter - Hp Laptop Charger - Hp Pavilion'

Blackberry Storm Battery - cell phone battery, blackberry accessories

i recieved the product in a timely manner. although when i put the battery in my phone it would not accept a charge. After trying to charge the battery for two days with no luck i gave up. ive tried to contact the company and have got no response back. I would advise any one not to buy lthis battery. BlackBerry DX-1 Original Li-Ion Battery for BlackBerry Curve 8900, Tour 9630, Storm 9500 9530 and Storm2 9550

There's a reason why these OEM batteries are so cheap, it's because they've all come from phones that have had some kind of moisture damage and the RED line indicator on the side of the battery is activated. My original OEM battery out of the box is all white, indicating no moisture exposure. Am yet to see how this affects battery life.

I was looking forward to receiving those batteries since the original one in my BB wouldn't last a full day.

I finally received them but my BB Storm 9530 constantly reboots when I put when of those batteries in.

I don't know if there's a compatibility issue or if I got faulty ones but I wouldn't recommand those to anyone...

Item did not arrive after being ordered but contacted seller and got it a few days later. Works as good as the batter that came with the phone and only cost a few dollars (opposed to the $50+ the Verizon store had them priced at)

Update after 6 months of use - battery does not hold a charge well any longer. Still rather pay a couple of dollars every 6 months than $50 for a better battery.

I bought one of these very low priced batteries becauses my year-old battery was not holding a charge for a full day. The battery arrived in a plastic bag, with no way to verify that it was new. I have used it for a couple of days, and it discharges even faster than my original battery.

I received this item about 2 weeks ago and started using it then as my primary battery. I now use my original battery as a backup. Seems like this battery is every bit as good as my original one that came with the phone from Verizon. Charges well, holds a charge well, at least as well as can be expected with a Storm2. :D It appears to be an OEM original, and to one question I saw on another website, it says Made in Japan on it vs. China. I think it is the real deal. - Battery - Blackberry - Cell Phone Battery - Blackberry Accessories'
