Gps System Accessories - garmin, cheap

I bought this bundle for the AC charger, which I knew would not be included with the GPS. That, and because the description of the Nuvi 265WT (which I bought in the same order) seemed vague about whether a USB cable was included. Turns out the Nuvi does come with a USB cable (and a car charger). So if you're considering buying this because you think you'll need a USB cable, don't bother. I suppose if the 12V in-car charger that came with the unit dies or gets lost someday, the car charger will become useful. That's assuming I store it where I can find it. The 12V charger that came with the unit seems far more rugged than this one, by the way.

Bottom line: The one part I've tried, the AC adapter, works just dandy. It may even do double duty charging up an MP3 player, since the Nuvi end of it is just a garden-variety "mini-D" USB plug). But they don't advertise it for that function, so try it at your own risk! I have tested my 265wt in the car, walking, and biking and it is such an improvement over the one that came with my car. I used it once on my bicycle by going to the most remote spot in our town and turned it on deep in some woods. It directed me to the front door of my residence and informed me I was home. Others I have had would just inform me that I "was in the area" and that"there would be no further directions". This is fine if you are in familiar area, but not if you are traveling alone in a strange city. The bike ride was funny since I received some strange looks from people who were walking when this deep male voice was coming from my bicycle telling me to turn left or turn right.

Both the adaptor for the car and the charger for home with this kit were defective. When plugged into the GPS, the male ends of both cords stuck in the GPS and when attempts to remove were made the male parts of the cords remainded stuck in the GPS, as the wires simply seperated from the plugs, leaving the naked end of the wire. The male end left in the GPS finally had to be removed with needlenosed pliers to make the GPS able to receive a power source again.

Every thing is working fine I am not sure if everything is needed. The GPS is charged while in use And lasts for at least a Fue houes. The car charger coard doesnot the FM traffic reciever on it so im am not shure if I evem recieve any Traffic Alearts in my area. The GPS comes wihh a USB cable so ???????.

The connection between the A/C adapter and the Garmin unit was very tight, requiring care when inserting and removing it. After using the A/C adapter to charge the Garmin 3 times, the sleeve on the end of the adapter cable came apart. I would not recommend purchasing this unit - Garmin - Cheap - Garmin Nuvi 265wt - Garmin 265wt'
