Adapters - hdmi, adapter

I was considering buying a much more expensive version of this same product, but decided to give this one a shot because even if it didn't work, it wasn't very expensive. Boy, was I surprised when I plugged it in and it works perfectly! Audio out works well, as does the video. Also worthy of note, this works perfectly with windows under bootcamp as well. I've had adapters before that didn't, so thought I'd let you know that.

Basically, if you were on the fence about buying this or the more expensive Moshi one, get this one. It does the same thing, and does it just as well. Syba High Quality Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter

I bought this so my son could watch all his iTunes movies that are on his MacBook Pro on his new plasma tv. You just plug this in to the laptop, then plug an HDMI cable from there to the TV. But you will need a seperate cord for the sound. It's easier than it sounds.

I had purchased this with the assumption that audio worked with this, as bradklodowski's review had said audio out worked well, I assumed the adapter could pass audio. This is not the case for anyone else that may be confused. The adapter does NOT pass audio through the adapter for the new macbooks that support audio through the mini-displayport. The product itself seems to pass video clear enough, but since it does not pass audio as well its useless to me.

First I bought the cheapest one I could find on Amazon and it failed after four months. Sure I tossed it around a bit so I will be more careful with this one. HOWEVER, I thought I was getting a more high quality product this time around by paying $12 after shipping instead of the $7 I paid for the last one. This is not the case. It is EXACTLY the same so if you are thinking of buying this one just get the one that's $4 + 2.99 in shipping instead. SAME product just $5 more.

As far as I'm concerned, this adapter is priceless, as it allows me to watch all of the media from my Mac on my HDTV.

The adapter is well-constructed, looks "Apple-ey," and works as expected. This is a truly great (and useful) product.

The Syba adapter works great but I do have one small complaint. If the adapter is hanging from the usb port, little fuzzy pixels start flickering on my display. I just had to make sure that the adapter was resting on something instead of hanging from my desk and that fixed the problem.

This little dongle adapter works great on my MacBook. Sends a great picture to my Samsung 46" TV. The mini display port on the first gen of the unibody MacBooks doesn't send an audio signal through. I have another wire "headset jack to Toslink" to my receiver. This display port to HDMI wire allows me to send a video signal directly to the TV. Picture is great. - Macbook - Mini Displayport - Adapter - Hdmi'
