Car Charger - screen protector, accessory kits

The silicon covers aren't very good. They have a clever way of adapting to the sliding action on the phone, but they slip off too easily. The leather case is great - heavy duty, magnetic closure, good quality leather and tough seams that are holding up well. The screen savers include are FANTASTIC! They are very thick and heavy duty and fit the Droid II screen perfectly. They are also easy to attach to the phone.

There are also good headphones and a lot of nice wires that you need - especially the retractable USB connector that also attaches to the wall and car chargers.

This kit is well worth the money and you won't be disappointed. CrazyOnDigital New Accessory Kit 16 items for New Motorola Droid 2 A955 Wireless Cell Phone

It was hard to pass up this kit for the price. Some of the accessories were disappointing but overall I can't complain. The screen protectors fit great and went on with no trouble. The adapters all work and charge the phone and the holster seems nice and durable. The silicone cases are flimsy and we had a hard time getting them on. Once on they didn't seem to want to stay so I am glad that wasn't counting on them for too much protection. The ear buds are a bit uncomfortable but we use our blue-tooth headsets so not a big deal. Like I said it was hard to pass up for the price considering buying the things we really wanted (screen protectors, car charger, holster)separate would have cost a lot more.

Overall I am pleased with this accessory kit. I use and enjoy everything that came other then the 4 cases that came with it for my Droid. They do not fit/stay or or even come close to fitting my droid 2. I pitched those in the trash. Other then the cases everything else is a 5 star.

I've had my Droid 2 for 4 months. I've already gone through 8 hard cases!!!! When I go to turn the screen on... I somehow break the little piece in front of the button on the case. Then of course it becomes useless. These rubber plastic covers are very reliable. I don't have any issues with the workability of these covers at all!

The case for it was too small for my phone. Yes it's a hit or miss but the screens, earphones, covers all worked well. Thanks.

Products were alright. Something you would get at a mall keyosk. Rubber phone covers ar kinda baggy on phone, over all though not bad. Get a couple different chargers which is nice to have around. Would recommend for budget shoppers.

The earphones only work on one ear. The covers fit way to loose, they won't stay on. The case is nice it does what it should. As do the screen protector. The sux cable causes interference with the radio.

I ordered this package for the charger and the covers. Neither work well. The dual charger is supposed to charge two phones at once, but it only charges one. The covers do not fit the Droid 2. They're too big and the phone slides around in them. The rest of the accessories in this pack are just junk. It's worth the price for the charger, but I was VERY disappointed. - Accessories - Car Charger - Screen Protector - Accessory Kits'

Good Shipping - red, red laser pointer

I have been using this product for technical presentations since last 4 months. It never let me down. Laser has bold and strong focus. Since it is heavy because of its battery, the hand can be held steady pointing to the correct location.

I would recommend this product. Gr8 value for money!! Red Laser Pointer Classic Style with Carrying Case

I bought this for my kitty who absolutely loves it. The case it comes with is cheap. The build of the laser pointer itself is pretty solid. It feels heavy, probably due to the two AAA batteries. Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it to turn on, but otherwise it works well. The red laser is pretty bright.

I initially bought this one to play with my cats and it works wonderful. It drives them crazy and I have had a lot of fun with it. As an added bonus, I put this one in my purse and take it with me any time I visit my sister; or I keep it handy when the wretched girl visits my place. She is far less bright than any of my cats and has yet to figure out where the little light comes from. I very much recommend this product for a lot of fun with both cats and stupid sisters.

This laser pointer is a bright, inexpensive laser pointer suitable for any general use. The delivery was prompt and the quality of the laser appears to be good.

PROS: Inexpensive; bright; comes with a basic carrying case and slipcover; generic batteries are included.

CONS: Feels a little lightweight; batteries included aren't the best.

Overall, I recommend this as a good-quality basic laser.

The pen gives a fairly strong laser - much better than the lasers that are equipped on pointers that are also used for slide transitions.

The wooden case it comes in basically falls apart in the wind, but for the price I would highly recommend this for students or anyone doing presentations. It's fun and convenient to own your own pointer. You can surprise someone who forgot theirs and look like a hero.

I was looking for a cheap cat toy and this is what chose.

Pros: Has 2 aaa batteries included in package. Good construction overall. The button is easy to press and doesn't wear you out. Low price.

Cons: No always-on button.

Why pay more? This item is exactly the same as the laser pointer titled "GREAT QUALITY RED LASER POINTER WITH CASE AND BATTERIES" also from Amazon and from the same seller. I bought both to see the difference and they are identical. Even the OEM model numbers and batteries are the same. So save some cash and buy the other. - Red - Good Value - Red Laser Pointer - Laser'

Ballpoint Pen - school supplies, pen

its about 13 pens for the dollar! i have always used this exact model of pen for school, so i bought a bunch of it here online.

these are normal pens that write great. its the price i love!

for under 5 bucks, you get 60 pens. so few people know of this, and amazon can't advertise such a low price. i'm just lucky i stumbled upon it.

Very satisfied :) BIC Round Stic Ball Pen, Medium Point, 1.0 mm, Black, 60 Pens (GSM609-Blk)

If you want a functional pen, at a good discount type of price, then this one is for you. However, they do not mention how very light the ink comes out onto the page. I was used to heavier flow on most of my other pens, so this light ink from these pens is something I noticed right off the bat when I started using it. A good price for the 60 pack, but if you like a thicker, heavier ink pen, then this is not good for that.

These pens have been a personal favorite for me for the last few years. I discovered them during my freshman year of college, and I was so excited when I found them at Walmart in a 36 pen box. When I was cruising Amazon last week and discovered that the greatness that is this pen could be mine for so cheap, I practically threw a parade.

If I could high-five these pens, I would. I bought two boxes, so that means I have 120 pens all to myself. Being an education major, I fully intend that most of these pens will go missing in the most ridiculous of places. Will I lose one on the bus? Or will I leave it with the cashier at Target? The joy of the cheapness of these pens is that the future is now mine to find out!

Now, for serious: this is painfully cheap for these pens. They're definitely my favorite pens, and one box will probably get me through my senior year into student teaching and probably when I have my own classroom and need pens for some writing project. I have paid more for these pens, and I do so gladly. They write cleanly, and they don't give out on you until the ink does. Unless I personally damage the pen (which is hard, because the plastic is great quality), it works well always. The ink takes a while to run out (I believe I have a pen that lasted me for everyday writing all year), and they don't look cheap, if you care about that kind of thing. I'm the pen girl in my classes because of these pens.

This is a standard bic pen. Having used all sorts of pens and having to write alot each day, I find Bic ink to be the smoothest and most consistent. I've tried gel inks from all different brands, and while those are very smooth, they all tend to smear when I move my hand across while writing. This ink does not smear in the same way with standard use.

Have used only a few of these pens so far, but they all work! As usual, Bic is a trusted name in pens and this box stands up to the name. This is a great purchase for a family or group that needs affordable, yet reliable pens. You can't go wrong with this buy. And the price was just right. - Ballpoint Pen - Pen - Black - School Supplies'

Cord Management - cables, cord management

I have a new home theater. The stand is modern glass and steel. The cable tangle totally ruined the neat appearance. This kit allowed me to tidy up the tangle and maintain the clean look of the new system/stand. Totally worth the $$ GE 18167 Cord Management Kit, Plastic Cable Ties/Spiral Wrap/Clips

Its all plastic pieces. I only wanted the 4 wire clips when buying this. It offers better routing of any cable anywhere. The actual loom is pretty flimsy and would keep wires together, but looks real flimsy. That's why I gave it 4 stars. Also the wire ties are poorer quality, but it will still work for your general wire needs.

This item does not really serve any purpose. GE should provide more information on what cable management system is really used for (enough for a few cables for a computer and not much more). I would return this but it's not really worth the hassle. Recommend not wasting any money on it. - Cord Management - Cable Organizer - Cables'

Framing Nailers

Excellent Nailgun. At first I had misfires or jams and couldn't shoot 10 nails in a row. I changed the couplings on my hose (the mild hiss was a give away) to better couplings. I reconnected the gun and had no hiss from the coupling to the gun or the coupling to the compressor. I went through 2,000 nails without a jam or misfire! Especially helpful was the extra trigger to convert the gun from a sequential to a single fire gun. Bostitch N89C-1 Coil Framing Nailer

Just bought this gun after my old bostitch stick nailer died. I must say this thing is amazing.

As a contractor, I love the features it has. It feels well balanced and is easier to fit in smaller spaces than the traditional stick nailer. I like how I can set it down on its face when im working, I just grab it and go. no laying down and picking up.

A bonus feature that I did not expect nor does the write up tell you about is that It comes with a factory rafter hook that is well placed.

The only thing I can say bad is that it didnt come with a case, not really a big deal but here on the coast rust is a problem so I like to keep tools in their cases.

Cant go wrong with this gun.

I bought this nailer after working with a stick nailer for far too long. This Bostich is far more compact and versatile than a stick nailer. A friend had his for 18 years and didn't do any maintenance on it, so I figure with maintenance this may be the only framing nailer I'll ever buy.

I purchased this gun as a quick replacement for my Max CN890II which Ive had for about 8 years. At almost half the cost of the Max - I'm very glad I switched. No case, but I'd rather have a nice quality gun than a case. I overnighted the gun so I could get back to finishing my barn the next day after my Max died.. Oiled it up and ran about 9 rolls of various nails through it that afternoon and it fired on queue every time.. Very strong quick and predictable. Highly recommend this one!

pro

1, good power for shooting into LVL

2, reliable contractor grade

3, very easy/fast depth adjustment

4, holds 300 nails

con

1, heavy with full nail coils compare with stick nailer

2, teeth could be bigger for easier toe nail

3, rafter hook is plastic, does not last

4, shorter nail coils sometimes do not rotate properly in the box

5, does not set all nails sometimes in fast shooting applications

This framing gun is everything I expected it to be. I like the coil nailers better than the stick nailers because they are much easier to work with in tight areas. Not to mentioned the N89C-1 is capable of driving 16d nails which was the advantage of the stick nailers before. Amazon's great price and fast shipping just makes everything that much better.

Note: The framing gun comes with two triggers "Smart" (Black Trigger) and "Sequential" (Gray trigger). I left the "Smart" trigger on as that is what I have always used. Some people like to change out the triggers because of the possibility of a double fire if the gun hits the surface twice. If you can control the gun and not let it bounce back after the recoil you shouldn't have any problems with double firing.

Too bulky for a framing gun. This thing is HUGE and it seems like a lot more than 8.1 lbs, but it holds 300 nails. Basically, this Bostitch is a GREAT, tough, powerful gun. It will run EASILY on 90 PSI, and I'm sure it will run on even less.

It came quickly, and in perfect condition. Beware, there's no air connection with it. You'll have to buy one to hook it up to your hose. It has female threads.

Pros:

1) There's an adjustable rafter hook.

2) Powerful

3) Tough

4) 7 Year Warranty

5) Inexpensive

6) Quick Nail Depth Adjuster, but not as good as Porter Cable's

Cons:

1) The nailing tip is massive (very wide and thick), which puts the muzzle far away from the wood when toenailing. That causes the toenails to not set all the way at steep angles. This gun has more than enough power to set them, but at an angle, just can't get that close.

2) There are two flanges that stick out the sides which you can't see in the pics. They prevent you from nailing at steep angles. Also, the body of the gun is huge, also preventing many angles.

3) The bulk of the gun prevents you from nailing close to other objects.

4) Coil nails are easily damaged during shipping and handling!!!!!'

Nintendo Ds - mario, video games

If you love Mario 64 you of course are going to love having your old game back in a handheld version. The game, however, is even better now that it is on the DS!

You start out as Yoshi but get to unlock doors to become Mario, Luigi and Wario! Having the map on the bottom screen is a wonderful feature and the plethora of mini-games is very exciting. You get to unlock them the more you play. The mini-games themselves are worth the purchase. You will really get a chance to use the stylus and the new touch screen capabilities.

This is a game for everyone. Parents will even enjoy several of the mini-games which are even accessible to those of us who are game-play challenged.

A must have for the DS. Super Mario 64 DS

Just bought this game to play with my new DS. The original 64 version made me nauseous (from the graphics), so I stopped playing it after a few weeks.

This game is a lot of fun. You start playing as Yoshi, and must rescue other characters throughout the game (including Mario) who then become playable. The levels are very well-rendered, and feature the fun characters that have made Nintendo famous (Princess Peach, Toad, etc.)

As well as a slightly revamped Mario 64, the game also includes several unlockabl mini-games that are a lot of fun. Making ample use of the touch screen, these games are quick and fun time wasters that I've actually spent as much time playing as Mario64 DS itself!

All in all, unless you really hated Mario 64 or dislike platformers, this is a good game. For any fans of Nintendo's Mario games, this is a must own.

Mario 64 for the DS is quite a bit of fun. I bought it because of all of the DS games available during the release, this was the only one that was interesting looking. I didn't really like the game that much when it was on the N64 due to the very blocky graphics, rough camera control, and really frustrating movement controls. Now however the controls are a bit easier to use and the graphics are much better but the camera control is still a bit rough.

Overall this DS version is much more interesting than the original game. Having 4 characters to work with and all of their individual styles and moves really adds to the fun. There is quite a bit of depth, freedom, and replay value in the game and i just keep coming back for more.

When i bought the game i was hoping that it would be something that my wife would be interested in playing as there aren't many videogames that she even tolerates to play. However, between the game itself and all of the minigames, she plays it almost as much as i do. In fact the one day that i took it to work with me to see if it would use the wi-fi network there, she IM'd me and gave me a hard time because she couldn't play it.

There are a few things that i don't like so much about the game. First, the camera control is still really annoying, especially in tight places. Secondly, while the control scheme is a little easier to use, it can still be really frustrating at times especially paired with the camera. Third and most important to me is the lack of respect. I'm refering to the lack of respect towards Luigi. Historically in the Super Mario series, games that did have Luigi tended to not give him credit for his work. For example Super Mario Brothers 3 if you beat the game with Luigi the princess says "Thank you Mario...". In the original game Luigi wasn't even a playable character. Now in the DS he is playable but he gets mocked by Toad (on multiple occasions), act's like a screaming girl, and is refered to and treated as an overly sensitive, sickly, and weak character. Doesn't the guy deserve some respect.

Well, enough of my ranting and raving. Overall, this is a really great game and i'm glad that i invested in it, and i'm guessing you probably will too.

Wow. this is an awesome game. It really keeps you interested and wanting do get more stars and beat bowser! This is definatly the best game out there for DS, and like I said, it will be for a long time. The graphics are amazing. The 3D characters just will blow you away. Heres the main story line:

Oh yeah u guessed it. Bowser steals Princes peach and blah blah blah. Well yeah, thats pretty much the story line. But, this time Yoshi, Luigi, and even Wario are along to help rescue the princess. You start of as Yoshi, and earn power stars as you go along in different levels, and you can enter new rooms when you get the needed stars. ( for example, the room with an 8 on it reqires 8 stars to enter.) There are 150 stars in all, and a whole bunch of "secret stars" that are a lot of fun to find and get. All together there are 15 levels and I know that seemes like nothing, but it really doesnt seem like it.

The levels each have 7 main power stars, and one other star that you can retrieve from it by getting 100 coins. ( those little yellow things that heal you.) Hmmm, lets see that only makes .... the 15 levels times 8 stars... 120 stars in the levels. So as you see, there are 30 "secret stars" that Ill leave you to find on your own.

The multiplayer in this game is not one of its best parts, but hey at least it has multiplayer right? Ok, the multiplayer is baisicly up to four people can play, and you always start out as Yoshi, but wherever you go there are hats of Mario Luigi and Wario. ( if you pick up a hat of a different character than who you are, you turn into that character)

There are mini games that you can unlock by finding rabbits around the castle and catching them. Each rabbit will give you a key that unlockes new minigames. In the "rec room" on the main menu, the minigames that you have unlocked will be displayed. Each character has their own unique set of minigame of which to coose from. Sure its kind of cheesey with catching the rabbits and all, but the minigames are pretty entertaining.

This game is not one of those games like Wario Ware Touched that you can beat in less than 24 hours. Oh no, this is the kind like when you were little and you played Pokemon for like 100 hours before you beat it kind of games. Ok, maybe not 100 hours, but it took me about two months of hard work all the time to get 80 stars and beat bowser for the last time. If you liked any preveous Mario games, you will like this one twice as much grarenteed! * Heres how I rate it:

Graphics - 9/10

Gameplay - 9/10

Story line - 4/10 Yeah, its all the same!

Replay Value after you beat it - 5/10 while still working - 8/10

Sound - 6/10 The same music and noises but its not bad.

Multiplayer - 6/10

Mini games - 7/10

Overall - 8/10

I hope that you enjoyed this reveiw and that it will help you!

Laptop Accessories - notebook sleeve, macbook pro sleeve

This laptop sponge case definitely does the job. It completely fits my MacBook Pro 15.4" laptop and the thick, spongy, black padding on the inside provides a protective design, which keeps the zipper from scratching the laptop. Also, a little plus, it was delivered with some styrofoam support to keep the case from folding during shipping. I just kept that foam in there as extra padding for my laptop.

I love the floral print on this case, but I had two set-backs. 1) It's definitely a print on top of a case...I assumed that the print was ingrained into the fabric and that the fabric was dyed to hold the floral design. I just hope that in the future, the floral design does not start peeling off or cracking off the case. For that sake, I'd be afraid to wash it in the washer if it got dirty. Instead I'd spot clean it. It has the feel of iron-on stickers being applied to a gray case. Other than that, the color of the print is vivid and the print itself is heavy duty. 2) The print is only on one side. I was under the impression that maybe it was on both sides, but nope! Only one side. I guess if the fabric was dyed and the print was on both sides...that'd just add to the cost of it.

In conclusion, for the $$$ I spent, this is a great, functional, and aesthetically pleasing urban-esque floral art printed case. Already received compliments on it and I'd recommend it for personal use or as a gift. DIGITTRADE LS104-15 Designer Notebook Sleeve 15.4" Laptop Cover Grey Neoprene Soft Carry Case up to 15.6 Inch Anti Shock System

I purchased this sleeve after not wanting to pay $30 for an incase sleeve from apple for my Macbook Pro 15" unibody. It's a little on the big side and isn't quite as padded as the incase but it is great for if you want to just throw it in your backpack or carry it alone. It has too hooks on either side of zipper so you could make it into a stand-alone bag with a strap but it doesn't come with one. The stitching isn't' the best but it will last a good amount of time. It has a lining along the zipper so that you won't scratch your laptop while opening and closing the case which is good. Overall, it's a decent sleeve and I would recommend it to someone who wants a reasonably priced sleeve with style.

This is a very pretty laptop sleeve, that fits my MacBook Pro 15 inch well. I leave the piece of padding that comes with it in the actual sleeve; otherwise, the pocket itself may be a bit too wide to properly support the laptop.

The design is only on one side, but that's not something that bothers me.

My Notebook sleeve is not only beautiful, but it's great to have. It protects my notebook and it makes it super easy to travel with. I only wish it actually had the strap to carry it with me. You can get a strap for it since it has the rings for it. It would've been nice to have a matching strap. Other than that, delivery and product were wonderful!

DIGITTRADE LS104-15 Notebook Sleeve 15.4" Laptop Bag Grey Neoprene Soft Carry Case up to 15.6 Inch Anti Shock System

This is a very cute laptop sleeve. It has a plastic sticker-like screenprint on it which I knew already from reading reviews about it. Its not a printed fabric. It has very vibrant fun girly colors and it fits my 15.6" laptop perfectly. It has loops for a strap but it does not come with one which i also knew from other reviews. I've had it for about 4 months now and so far its holding up well and the screen print has not started to peel. Maybe someday but its holding well. I like it!

This laptop sleeve is gorgeous, the print is on both sides. It has a really soft but sturdy feel to it. It fits my 14.5 inch notebook well width wise and leaves about an inch of space at the top. I purposely got it a bit bigger hoping that the charging cords would fit in as well but they don't fit w/o making the whole thing too bulky.

Overall I'm very satisfied with this product. - Notebook Sleeve - Laptop Accessories - Macbook Pro Sleeve - Laptop Case'

Kindle Lighted Cover - kindle 3 covers, kindle covers

I've noticed that like myself customers have been concerned primarily with two things regarding the new lighted case from amazon. These are: 1)The weight and 2) The uneven lighting. My review will briefly discuss these two things.

1)The Weight - The lighted leather case is a nice weight, sturdy and comfortable to hold. In ounces it is about the weight of the kindle itself however don't let that concern you. With the case on it feels like a medium sized paperback, however it is far much more comfortable to hold. It's easy to hold the case open like a book (nice for couch and table type reading) or to fold the front back and close it with the bungee so that the bungee doesn't hang around (this is good for bedtime reading).Closing the front back with bungee keeps the case folded in position and you don't have to worry about it bothering you. BTW THIS CASE FOLDS BACK 100% - Very comfortable. In sum very comfortable to read with the case and very sturdy.

2) The uneven lighting - Amazon's pictures don't do this case justice. The light hits the ENTIRE screen. Yes if you look closely it's brighter in the top right corner then in the bottom left but Amazon's pics make it look the top is lighted while the bottom is dark. There is good light all over the screen. Trust me I'm fussy about these things - the lighting will not bother you, your entire screen will be lighted and it is extremely pleasant to read in the dark.

*Final Thoughts - Great case, good quality, works well, kindle feels very secure and protected (I would feel comfortable slipping this case into my backpack or suitcase and I think it would sustain some mild impact). Lastly hinges are a non-issue, casing of the kindle will not get damaged with normal or even slightly aggressive use. You could damage the kindle by trying to pull the back of the case but you'd have to really force it to cause any sort of damage to your kindle. The hinges work fine and should not be a concern to any case user.

Update 1st December 2010:

Have now been using the case for 3 months. Leather still looks impeccable. Some people expressed concern that the bungee cord might loosen with use. I have not experienced any loosening so far. Quality of the product has proven outstanding. I've occasionally spilled or messed the cover, just a wipe with a damp cloth has cleaned it up, and the case looks like new. Have to admit I enjoy the feel of the case in my hand, there's just something great about taking your kindle to a coffee shop in this case, it just looks and feels so classy. Also with regard to the hinges: I have had no scratches on my kindle or any other issues, so I remain convinced that the hinges are a non issue. Kindle Lighted Leather Cover, Burgundy Red (Fits 6" Display, Latest Generation Kindle)

I was hesitant to buy this cover mostly due to the pictures in its listing, which seem to show a light that doesn't even extend to the opposite corner. The fact that I have not been impressed with the Amazon's Kindle covers in the past didn't help. I went ahead and purchased it because the cover I wanted isn't available yet and I don't like to take my Kindle out and about without a cover. Now I am glad that I went ahead and bought it.

PROS:

1. The light is much better than I thought it would be. Using it in a darkened room I found that the light did the job very well. In a pitch black room, it performs even better. While the screen corner opposite the light is a bit dimmer than other areas, there is no problem reading the page at all.

2. The light gets its power from the Kindle itself, through the gold-plated hinges which attach it to the cover, so batteries are a thing of the past. When your Kindle goes to sleep, the light will go out as well. It will also turn off when you slide it back into the case.

3. The cover is slim, well-fitted and very easy to attach and detach using the hinges. The inside has good padding. The leather outer surface has a nice pebbled texture with the exception of a smooth area along the edge of the front. While stiff enough to protect the reader, the cover is slight flexible and the front easily folds behind when reading so you can hold your Kindle with one hand if you like.

4. A great plus is that the cover has an elastic cord that fits into a groove on the front of it. This holds your cover closed (unlike the original Kindle 2 cover that would flop open in your purse & let things slide into it) and easily distinguishes the front from the back--important as many owners of the Kindle 2 cover accidentally opened it from the back, which could cause cracking along the Kindle's spine.

CONS:

I haven't found any, really. The light Is a bit hard (stiff) to pull out of the cover, but then you wouldn't want it to be flopping out when you don't want to use it so that is more of a Pro than a Con.

The one concern I do have is about pulling the light in and out--I wonder if whatever wiring or conductor that is used to get the power from the hinges to the light will eventually break. But that is something to find out down the road. Right now, the more I use this cover, the more I like it. - Kindle 3 Cover - Kindle Accessory - Kindle Covers - Kindle 3 Covers'

Ryobi

This Ryobi saw really impressed me. At around 7 amps I felt it would be underpowered but it has handled every job I have thrown at it. Its light and the variable speed dial works awesome. The only downside to the saw is the tool less blade change lever. After tons of blade changes it wears out and I have had to tear mine off the saw and use pliers to actuate the lever. Ryobi would have been wise to cover the inside of the plastic lever with steel like Dewalt does with their 18v recip saws. For the occasional user this saw is superb and I do recommend it. Upconverting Dvd Player - 1080p dvd player, sony dvd player

We had a 3-yr old Sony DVD player but were not happpy with image quality on 42" LCD TV. Bought this newer sony and it is excellent. Much smaller, lighter, and a lot quicker to load/eject a disc. Image quality finally looks as good as all the display models in the stores. Compatible with all older Sony remotes, including a 15-year old one. Simply the best. Sony DVP-SR500H 1080p Upscaling DVD Player

As stated in the other review, the remote to this DVD player does not have an open/eject button. I know it isn't such a big deal, but sometimes at night I have to pop open the dvd player to add another DVD and have to turn on the light. I assumed since it was the 21st century that a simple eject button would be available! Other then that, the quality of the dvd player is TREMENDOUS! My brother and I currently own one and I purchased one for my girlfriend as well. If you're VERY picky about remotes than I'd say this is a deal breaker, but if you really don't care, with an HDMI cord you could say the second best thing next to blu-ray!

I bought this because it was the exact size I needed, and I because I was thinking of Sony as a good brand. Thinking back, though, I cannot remember the last time I bought a Sony product that I wasn't disappointed with.

The worst problem is that it simply does not play a large number of my valid disks, which play fine in my four other DVD players. It displays "loading" and will just stay there forever. On top of that, you cannot just hit the "eject" button. Once it's stuck like this, you have to unplug it and plug it back in again to get the disk out.

Techies will also hate the fact that the stop-stop-play technique does not work with this box. So you're doomed to sitting through the entire string of FBI warnings, anti-piracy "public service" commercials, previews, etc.

There are so many better players out there that there's just no reason to go with this box.

this is a basic no thrills dvd player that does one things great: plays dvds

picture quality is excellent (heads and shoulders above PIONEER DV-220V-K which was returned).

Analog sound quality also very good.

small form factor.

it has none of the usual gimmicks i never use (like usb capability etc).

discs have to be very clean and in excellent condition otherwise it would skip/stuck (other players would just move on). loading time could be faster..

I thought of getting another unit with an optical audio out (there aren't that many anymore) but the picture quality is so good i decided to stay with this one.

I did not want to replace my extensive DVD library with new Blu-Ray movies for two reasons, #1 cost #2 I feel that Blu-Ray will soon be replaced. So, I wanted an upscaling DVD player. I previously had a Sony product that was virtually indestructable. By the way, it had an eject button on the remote that was NEVER used. My DVD player sits behind a closed glass door and I always had to open that door before ejecting. I went with a Sony product again because of reliability and low cost, and SONY did it again. I've had this one for about 6 months now and have no complaints whatsoever. It's just as reliable as the last one. I don't use the remote for this one either, I have a remote for my Pioneer Receiver that controls everything. I'm not what one would consider a huge afficianado as far as home theater is concerned, I like to put a disc (movie) in and watch it, period. This DVD player allows me to do just that. I would recommend this unit to anyone who, like me, is more interested in watching a movie than they are always making adjustments or ejecting.

This is a fine product and the picture shown through a HDMI cable is astonishing. My only complaint is the remote control does not have a button for opening and closing the drawer. A small thing, I know, but surprisingly annoying.

Good product and the price was right and its arrival was swift. My new Samsung TV has fewer component RCA inputs so I retired my progressive scan DVD player for this SONY and its HDMI connection and its up-scaling ability. I have no interest for Blue ray players. My Samsungs (former and current) up-scaled the old player to 720 and the new SONY up-scales to 1080. It also has a convenient TV volume control. This player meets my needs.

My general annoyance is that neither of my Samsungs nor this SONY player offer optional volume control for my theater amp.

FOR THOSE OF US NOT READY TO TAKE THE BLU-RAY LEAP YOU CAN'T BEAT THIS UNIT AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED. I DID 8 MONTHS OF RESEARCH TRYING TO FIND A UNIT THAT DID NOT DISABLE THE ANALOG SOUND OUTPUT WHEN THE HDMI WAS CONNECTED. THIS UNIT FITS THE BILLING AND DOES WHAT THEY SAY IT WILL DO. I NOW HAVE HDMI PICTURE AND WAS ABLE TO CONNECT TO MY PRE HDMI CAPABLE HTR FOR FANTASTIC 5.1 SOUND WITH IT. THE PICTURE QUALITY IS FANTASTIC AND THE SOUND AS WELL. IT'S TRUE IT'S LIKE VIEWING A NEW MOVIE WITH HDMI CAPABILITY AND IT SAVES ME FROM HAVING TO MAKE MY HTR OBSOLETE IN THE CLOSET WITH ALL THE OTHER OBSOLETE COMPONENTS. THE AMAZON PRICE AND DELIVERY WAS FANTASTIC AS WELL. I JUST HOPE I DON'T WEAR IT OUT RE-WATCHING ALL MY OLD DVDS. AND BY THE WAY THE AMAZON BASICS HDMI CABLE GOT THE JOB DONE FOR A PRICE THAT IS ONLY 10 TO 20% OF WHAT THEY WANT ELSEWHERE. BUY IT YOU WILL BE VERY HAPPY WITH THE SONY DVP-SR500H AND THE AMAZON BASICS HDMI CABLE.

I had a DVD player that "died" on me that I used in my Country Kitchen area. It was mated to a 26" Samsung Flatscreen TV which has an outstanding picture and HD features. The DVD player I had hooked up to it though would only broadcast in 720p so when I decided to replace it I happened to be at Best Buy and saw this model for under $50. An upscaling player that would output a 1080p resolution so this peaked my interest. After a few moments of deliberation I opted to get this player instead of a more expensive Blu-Ray player for my country kitchen area. I'm glad I made the decision! The first movie I tried on it when I got home was "Avatar" and remember the scene when the seeds from the tree of life hovered around Jake?? The colors were so vibrant and beautiful I thought I was watching a Blu-Ray disc! Needless to say I was quite impressed! As with some of the other reviews I've read on this site I was a bit disappointed that the remote did not have an eject button. I'm surprised Sony overlooked this very important feature but other than that I love the price and the player itself! It's very sleek & compact and set up very easily! The start up is fast and the picture quality of course is what makes it worth every penny!! I wonder if a universal remote would control the eject on this player. I should try it...

So based on the picture quality & price I have rated this player 5 stars! Compact, attractive, fast & a great picture! Go get it! - Hdmi - 1080p Dvd Player - Dvd Player - Sony Dvd Player'

Portable Vehicle Gps - garmin nuvi, gps

I picked up the Garmin 1350T Refurbished for just over $125 on sale, and what a steal it was. When I got the unit, it was like brand new. The only clue to it being refurbished is the plain white box the unit comes in. Of the several Garmin nuvi's I've had over the years, this one is by far the best having the most responsive touchscreen and fastest OS. It locks on to the satellites much quicker than previous models, the lane assist works great and the lifetime traffic is a must have. I was even able to go to Garmin's website and update the firmware and upgrade to the latest 2011.10 maps.

So far I couldn't be happier with the Garmin 1350T and love the fact I save much $$$ going with the refurbished model. I would highly recommend the 1350T and highly recommend going with the refurbished models to save some cash. Garmin nüvi 1350T 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator (Factory Refurbished)

The Garmin 1350 is a very decent GPS unit. The touch screen is nicely responsive, and the various features like displaying the posted speed limit on many roads, FM traffic receiver, and lane assist make it a very passable mid-range Garmin. I've read reviews in which users experienced problems with this and other Nuvi units, but I haven't had any myself. Whenever I use it I am perfectly confident I'll end up where I need to go. Also, I bought this unit refurbished and it works like new.

Amazing what this unit does. We were in a 50mph zone passing to a 40mph zone. We wondered when Karen (we nicknamed it Karen after the voice we selected) would update the speed limit display.... Well, just as we went by the 40mpg sign, the update occurred. Scary.... Also, Karen predicted our arrival time from 150 miles away. Due to good traffic flow, we arrived within 1 minute of the prediction. Scary too. Directions were right on.

Pros: 1) Easy to use and great reception. 2) A little extra $ over the regular 1350 and you get the traffic feature which we've already made good use of. 3) Easy to upgrade software/maps online. Garmin gives you one free map upgrade. My unit came loaded with North America 2010.1 and I've upgraded to 2010.2 which is the latest as of this review. 4) Size and shape. This thing is THIN and light about the size of a 3x5 index card and 1/2 inch thick (FYI...USB/power plug in rear). We used the suction mount that came with it to mount it to the dash, no problem. I was going to use a beanbag mount but the suction mount is fine. It's so light that any beanbag mount should also work. 5) easy to see screen. Backlight was fine in the sun.

Cons: non-user replaceable LiIon battery (this is a con with many Garmin units.) Smaller cons that I put in here only because I ran out of space below (basically not a big deal but should be noted): 1) for the $ you pay it should come with a simple protective case. We picked up a simple case for cheap $ locally. 2) No USB cable included - a must to update software/maps, but it's a mini USB connection and the cable I used for my camera worked perfectly. When the unit is connected to a running PC via USB it also charges the unit's battery 3) No instruction manual - only a quick start guide included, but the full manual is online at Garmin's site and is downloadable.

Other Thoughts: I've wanted to buy a GPS unit for my wife for years but we never seemed to have the extra cash for what we consider a luxury item (online map printouts did just fine). Recently we've had several incidents where a GPS would come in handy so we decided it was time. Friends of ours have Nuvis and we liked the design and usage so I knew I wanted to go with one. Looked at several of the new "slimmer line" models from the 1200-1490T. The 1350T seemed to have everything we wanted. Traffic, lane assist, etc without the extras we did not need (Bluetooth, junction view). It was a nice middle of the road version of this line. We're very happy with it. Have had it for under a week and the traffic feature already came in handy with a warning of a problem ahead. If you're looking for a solid unit and can live without bluetooth and junction view, this is a perfect fit. The only big con I could think of was the non-replaceable battery.

I ordered the Garmin nuvi 1350/1350t from Amazon after a lot of looking around. I read Consumer Reports (on line) and the reviews that are on Amazon. I did not need a bluetooth, I have OnStar, but I did want the directions spoken with the names of the streets that I would intersect. I wanted a widescreen gps and a thin overall unit. I understood that the 1350t would pick up traffic snarls, construction and detours. So far I have not found that to work (in Ft. Wayne, IN). A clerk in a Best Buy told me that function only worked in large metropolitan areas like Chicago and New York. The jury is still out on that feature. I find it a bit amusing and a little troublesome that the gps will speak a street name when it is far better known more prominently labeled as a state route. The directions it gives have all been reasonable as opposed to wild goose chases that I have heard about by owners of other brands. In short, I am very pleased with the unit and recommended it to two of my friends who purchased the same model from Amazon and will be traveling on extended trips west--no reports from them yet. If you value the features that appealed to me, you'll like it! - Portable Vehicle Gps - Garmin Nuvi - Garmin - Gps'

Ipod Accessories - running, ipod accessories

I've never used a MP3 player or Ipod to work out before. I recently got a 80GB Ipod and thought I'd try this waistband out. Wow! I usually wait a lil while before doing a review, in case there's an issue, but I gotta say, I am impressed by this thing. Fits great and don't notice it's even on my waist. I run 3 miles, for about 4 to 5 days a week. It's a great item. Definitely worth it. Tune Belt iPod Carrier Belt

I teach aerobics, and I've found this tune belt to be perfect for holding my microphone battery pack. It's just the right size! The tune belt fits nicely around the waist and can be easily adjusted. I've been very happy with it so far!

It's excellent, I use it very often - bike riding, exercising, for walks with my dog. It even has a little pocket for anything small you might wanna carry with you, i.e. money, keys. The only disadvantage is the buckle is not firmly attached to the belt so it can slip. Too bad if your waist is wider then average, it doesn't stay in place and simply falls out. I tried to wear it over my jumper which enlarged my waist and it wouldn't hold.

This thing is great, so light you can barly tell you have it on, holds my 30 gig and my 8 gig nano perfectly, and what I like is when I'm at the gym or running, I can just reach down, pull out the ipod and just hold the ipod in my hand without some confining leather case or something obstructing me from making adjustments, I can change volumn, song, pod cast or whatever, slide it back into the tune belt and keep going. It also seems to provide some level of shock absorbtion for the hard drive pod (less important for the flash drive nano, but still..)I've been using these tune belts since the walkman days, so glad they make them for ipods!

Second product I have bought from Tune Belt. First was an armband. Very satisfied with the Carrier Belt. Fits my Ipod, Phone and Gym ID perfectly. Stays put no matter what I do during my workout. Headphone cords stay out of the way unlike with the armbands. I highly recommend this product.

I'm 6'2" with 18.5" arms and for the longest time I couldn't find arm bands that would work for me. The Tunebelt saved me! No more arm restriction and getting in the way while lifting. It's much easier to ride mountain bike and row with this. This product is amazing. Doesn't come loose and it works great. It doesn't rub or irritate me and I use the little zip pouch for my house key. I have a 40" waist and there's about half an inch left so if you plan on getting this and you have anything over 40" I really suggest getting the extender.

i like this belt..holds my 80gb ipod perfectly while i am working out..not once did it feel like it is in my way...and i love the fact that if i wanted to skip a song while working out, i just quickly can put my hand on the outside of the cover and click next...without stopping the treadmill or losing my step...i think if i had an armband, i would have to have more coordination to do stuff like that...

I LOVE this thing! I have a 30GB Video iPod and thought I could never run with it without holding it (too big, too heavy, hard drive). It's too heavy for an arm band, too. This belt is perfect! It doesn't move on my waist at all. And the iPod doesn't skip.I run the headphone wire up the back of my shirt and voila! Running hands-free listening to 7500 songs.Makes those long runs less lonely. - Running - Ipod Belt - Ipod Case - Ipod Accessories'

Desktop Chargers - charger, accessories

Had to buy one of these for my new BlackBerry Torch 9800 Phone (AT&T) - which is great by the way.

I was a little concerned about the fact that the Torch does not have "charging contacts" that allow it to charge in the pod without connecting the microUSB.

Instead, the pod has a microUSB male connector sticking up that effortlessly slips into the phone when you slide it into the pod. The contours of the pod align the phone perfectly in place to make it an easy, no thought required process.

While you still may lament the lack of charging contacts on the Torch 9800, keep in mind that those do not allow you to establish a USB connection to your computer. Personally I am just using the pod as a bedside holster to prop my phone up so I can see it easily at night...if I had it on my desk it would be great to use for syncing my device and charging - all while being able to easily see the screen and use it. BlackBerry Torch 9800 Sync/Charge Pod

This product is very much what you would expect. It allows you to charge or sync your phone. I bought one for my office and one for my night stand. It's feels heavy and solid in your hand. It does exactly what it's supposed to: charge and sync your device.

My only complaint, as has been my complaint with all blackberry charging pods, is that they are overpriced. For the amount of components in it: molded plastic, usb extension cable, LED... It should be a lot cheaper. Unfortunately there aren't really any 3rd party options so I just waited out and watched every day till I found the cheapest ones with free shipping.

I definately like the viewing angle and it since I use it as an alarm clock, I'm much less likely to knock it off the nightstand when I click snooze if it's in the pod.

It's a good product, I just think it could be a little bit cheaper. Maybe in time they will come down in price.

I have been using a lot of charging pods from RIM starting with the 8330 then 9630 then 9700 and now 9800. They all work just fine and without any issues. I wished RIM made 9800 charging pod that is in vertical layout instead of a horizontal layout like this one. The horizontal layout takes up more room on my night stand. Other than that, it does what it suppose to do and that is to charge your Blackberry when you are sleeping.

As another reviewer suggested, it plugs in easier than you would think. Its MUCH easier than trying to plug in the charger manually each night. It just falls right on the plug and that's it! Oh yeah, this unit doesn't come with the actual charger, you have to supply that yourself (but it doesn't say it comes with it, so that's OK). Just clarifying for anyone wondering.

I will just second what other reviews have said: this dock feels sturdy and heavy, the Torch slides in snugly, it's easier than fumbling with a tiny plug, and it's great to have the portrait-format clock at my bedside. I'm delighted-- I love my Torch and I feel like this just completes the experience. Be aware that this dock does NOT include the cord, and the phone will not fit in it with a case on. Highly recommended!

I like the pod, it is heavy enough to be stable with the phone inserted. The only reason I did not give the product a 5-star rating is that I think it should have come with a cable. Note, the phone will not fit into the pod with any type of cover

Cradle works great, very attractive with the Torch displaying the anolog clock. Two cautions. First these come packaged with a variatiety of stuff. Mine did not come with a power cord, had to use the one that came with my phone. If I was ordering it again, I would have paid a few bucks more and gotten one the came with a dedicated cord. Second, don't expect it to fit in the cradle with any type of protector, it's not. Luckily my protector goes on and off easily. - Accessories - Cradles - Charger - Dock'
