My experience with Iomega Prestige 2 TB USB 3.0/USB 2.0 Desktop Hard Drive has been great!!! I had to replace a WD Harddrive that was over 4 years old because it was acting funny with Windows 7. This hard drive not only looks cool but also works noiselessly when compared to my other WD hard drives. The aluminum case is a very nice feature!! The cover is so tough that it was able to withstand a few accidental drops.
The device was very affordable and I have not had any issues with it so far! The stand that comes with it enables the user to place it either horizontally or vertically. The hard drive comes with a preformatted NTFS drive so you are able to start using it instantly. This harddrive has met all of my expectations and I see myself buying an Iomega Hard Drive in the future!!! As well, Amazon Prime Shipping was amazing as always. Installing this product has been my nightmare 201. The basic installation was simple, but NOWHERE does it say one must then download other software to run it. They offer QuikProtect for free, but I challenge anyone to find it on their site... or any other useful info. SIX CHATS, one phone call to someone in ?India? (with an accent worse than mine) later, when we agreed the basic was done, I asked "So What... where is my simple menu to do a backup..." that the 6th idiot realized the real problem and gave me the link to QuikProtect. Then the first computer worked fine. Setting up the second I knew what was needed, but still could not...cannot find the link on their site.
The only good news, is that now the nightmare is over, everything appears to work smoothly and seamlessly
For Iomega techies, if you read this... check Chat files on 5/18 incident 000726 etal I hope this helps other newbies. Had it been possible, I would have returned the item, or had the Geek Squad fix it for free. - External Hard Drive'
