This is definitely not an anti-glare item. I bought several screen protectors for my BB9700 before. The first one I bought was anti-glare, priced around $3-$4. No fingerprints or grease were left on the screen at all, no matter how I touched it with my fingers. My 2nd purchse was the 3-pk for $1.85, not anti-glare though they called it anti-glare. But what can I expect at such cheap price.
This one is priced at $4 above, named "premium anti-glare", so I expected it to be same quality as my first purchase. But it turned out to be a "high-glare" one. It's very disgusting to see my fingerprints and all the grease stuff on it.
I really don't understand - why some sellers are not honest when they name/describe their products? Why would I pay $4.4 for something I can get at 3-pk for $1.85 ? Oh well... Premium Crystal Clear Anti-Glare Screen Protector for Blackberry Bold 9700
I just received this screen protector for my bold2; in the past I used to have a touch screen Sangsung Impression & I used at least more than 4 types of screen protectors which always let me down; prices ranging between 10 to 17 bucks; from day one they felt cheap, did not cover the screen completly, had to place them many times to cover the "essentials" at least, always leaving bubbles underneath and in less than a week they were peeling off the screen; I gave up on then and eventually the screen ended up full of scratches making my phone useless...when I got my BB I knew I have to get a good one, but still I wanted to play russian roulette with this one.
Day one: there's only one film on the package, branded "Empire Screen Defender"; comes with the usual instructions plus a little piece of a cleaning cloth so you can clean the screen before installing it. when you place it, it covers the whole screen, no bubbles on the first and only try, feels durable and SO FAR it does feel..."premium". no glare under a bright yellow and white light. used a door key on the screen & it does what it supposed to: no scratches.call me psycho, but it worked. for 3.97$ it looks like a keeper...for one day at least
then again, I'm cynical by nature, so I will update this review in a month.
I figured I would give it a few months before I wrote a review the screen protector, just to make sure I could give an accurate rating. This was the THIRD screen protector I purchased for my BB Bold, as the first two were no bueno. I have been EXTREMELY happy with this protector! Luckily, I have a steady hand, because as soon as I applied the protector it sealed seamlessly and has not budged in nearly 3 months. With my first two protectors, I was very frustrated by the corners of the film raising and bubbling as I removed and replaced the case, but those days are gone. As BB users know, sometimes it is necessary to remove the phone's casing in order to reboot the phone by removing the battery. The protector has not even threatened to move in the few times I've had to remove the case, and it remains crystal clear, doesn't smudge easily, and is easy to clean when it does. I hope this product works as well for everyone else has it has for me!
I was looking forward to this product, having used a very similar screen on my iPhone for years. However, when it arrived I was very disappointed. The screed didn't fit on my 9700 at all - there was an odd spacing on both the top/bottom and the sides. This lead there to be a bunch of exposed edge which immediately got caught on my pocket, the holster, etc. and pulled the screen off. Also, the static cling wasn't very strong, so in addition to becoming caught on everything it didn't actually adhere to the screen.
After about 3 minutes the screen was rendered useless. Despite the fact the price is right, don't waste your money.'
