The version 3 is amazing . This is what Kindle should have been on the launch. NO complaints whatsoever.
Also I highly recommend to get the Kindle cover with LED Light from Amazon. It is simple indispensible. With the cover I was so immersed that unconsciously I tried to change the pages by hand like book one or two times.
Dont but the power supply though for UK or any other country. You can use any blackberry or lastest HTC phone charger ( They have higher capacity thena required by kindle)

I got suckered in to this by the "get it with your Kindle" special offer. It's just a standard charger, so we now have several of them lying unused in a drawer. Check if you have a suitable charger already, if not it's perfectly fine for what it is.
The new Kindle 3s shipped to international users (excluding the UK who have their own local store) don't have a power adapter included.
Amazon currently offer this in a promotion with the new Kindle 3 for $4.99. However they ship the power adapter separately from the Kindle 3 so shipping costs of about $13 are added on. At time of writing the Kindle 3s will be shipping in a couple of weeks. The power adapter should have been held back and shipped at the same time as the Kindle 3 so that the headline price reduction was actually received.
The bottom line is the adapter winds up costing about EUR20 inc VAT and shipping.
Much cheaper if less visually attractive alternatives like the LLoytron USB charger are available in shops locally in Ireland.
I have 2 as we have 2 kindle. One if this just disintegrated in my drawer. It peels off everywhere. When I told my sister who also have had 2 Kindle herself, said 2 of her plugs have already disintegrated that this is a known fact - Kindle power adapters, the white tubing outside disintegrate. There must be some safety issue here!!! Please improve the make of your adapters PLEASE! It's ridiculous! When I first found it the state it is in, I thought I had a rat in the house but the covering keeps peeling off!!!!
Unfortunately the micro USB plug is too loose in the Kindle socket so you have to jiggle it around before you get a connection. If the Kindle gets moved then chances are it will stop charging. Not reliable.
Also.....yet another proprietory micro usb plug - why can't there be a standard for this size. I now have a Kindle, a Nikon camera and a Blackberry that all use different sized micro usb plugs.
This USB adapter (UK) is 50% off the original Apple adapter which can only be bought in the UK and works exactly the same. Tested it on my iPhone 4 and iPad. The cord is fairly worthless though as it's it only works with the Kindle. Great for anyone visiting UK often and wants to travel light.
