This kit is excellent for a child learning how to cast. The weighted plastic fish that comes with the kit was ideal for this purpose. Within about 5 minutes my nephew was casting out to about 35 feet! He got the line tangled and the reel was very easy to disassemble. The sunglasses fit a 4 to 6 year old in my estimate and had adequate uv protection.
