The mic that came with my 360 bit the dust and I opted for this as a replacement rather than one of the more expensive alternativeness. It works great; it sounds great; and if you treat these right, they last several years. Xbox 360 Headset
The headsets I received were from Direct Distributor fulfilled by Amazon. They were not in original Microsoft packaging but rather in a sealed orange bag. Also, they are not the never version that Microsoft is currently selling. They are the headsets that shipped with the older consoles. They do work fine but are not what I expected...
The headset works great! It's used daily. Definitely not a quiet accessory of the Xbox system...I often think we have extra kids in the house when I hear the excited conversations! Glad I heard to buy this, so it was here when they opened the system Christmas morning, because it's such an important part of the whole experience!
The head set is very nice where I got it from sent it very quick great condition Brand new box. THE ONLY SET BACK........ is that the On/off switch in next to your chin so it can get annyoing taking your hand off the controller to turn your mic on or off, especially in halo or call of duty. Other than that the head set is in beautiful condition. 5 stars
I love this thing. The price was great too. It's Black, so it matches my Xbox 360 Slim. I assumed there would be some static, but there is none. I'd recommend it.
The only negative thing that I can say about them is that the audio cuts out every once in a while if you're battery's low on energy (if you're playing wirelessly). I played with my wired controller, & I had no issues at all with them.
I've used these headsets before and knew what to expect. Amazon also provides the best prices on these things...definitely better than going to Best Buy, Target, or another major retail store. The headset is comfortable and easy to use. I have only one minor complaint: the mouthpiece is a bit short for me, so I don't always have the microphone directly in front of my mouth, but it usually doesn't give me problems. If you play online with X-Box live, the headset is a must to take full advantage of the experience.
I was happy to find the official Xbox 360 Headset for such a low cost, but it still isn't worth the money.
I purchased this item to replace my old 360 headset that I got when the console was first released. I liked the old one well enough, and didn't want to fork over too much money on a headset, so I figured buying the same one to replace it would be my best option.
They have, however, changed the design a bit that really disappointed me. Instead of having the on/off and volume controls attached at the base to the controller, they are in-line with the cord. Because of this, it is much harder to quickly make changes when playing a game. Before I could just mute/un-mute without having to look away from my TV-- that is not the case now.
Having the controls in-line also seems to put more strain on the headset jack, which is never a good thing.
I am really disappointed in this product, and would not recommend it. Go ahead and pay the extra money on a third-party headset or the official wireless headset. - Xbox 360 Headset - Black - Microsoft - Xbox 360'
