Ink Cartridge - inkjet printer ink, hp photosmart

Name brand printer cartridges are expensive no matter where you purchase them, so I always shop around to find the BEST price. Amazon.com had the best price for the genuine HP 564XL 5-color combo product (black, black photo, cyan, magenta, and yellow) when I ordered on 1/2/09 ($79). The cartridges didn't come in individual cardboard boxes, but I just discard the boxes anyway, so it didn't matter. The cartridges were the "real" thing and that's what I wanted. I got free shipping, which is always a plus! I also received my order sooner than I expected it (in about 3 days)! If the price is right, I will definitely order from Amazon.com again!! 5 Pack of HP OEM 564XL Inkjet Cartridges. Not for use in Photosmart Plus printers.

I just received my set today and noticed right away that the labels on the ink said "setup" not XL. I have all XL in my printer now and these are not the same! They are the small / regular (?) size inks that come with a new printer. I'm sending these back tomorrow because they were incorrectly advertised.

These were in the original boxes and everything. I have been doing a ton of printing, so they ran out relatively fast, but again, I think that's because I've been printing TONS of full color stuff over the past couple months. I think these are the real deal. However, the price isn't much different from what you get at Staples. Exactly the same, actually. And at Staples you can recycle your old cartridges and they give you like $2 each for them. But the upside of ordering them this way is that you don't have to drive to Staples and then potentially find out they are out of stock. So I'll keep ordering them this way.

Yes, you can save money by buying off-brand ink. I wouldn't recommend it. The colors are not quite correct, so you certainly don't want to do this if you use your printer for photographic prints. But more importantly, the off-brands tend to jam the printer, particularly if you don't use it on a daily or regular basis.

We have a laserwriter for daily use and use the color ink-jet only when we need color output. The inkjet is a little slower than the laser, and the cost/print is a little higher so it sometimes sits for a week or two between uses. In the past, with Canon and HP printers, this has always been a problem - but only when we don't use the branded ink. The inks start to clog the printhead and inevitably the printer ends up failing. We were determined not to let that happen with the new HP that we're using. Here, you get the correct HP colors and ink that doesn't jam, even when the printer sits for a month. The price point offered here for the full set is quite reasonable and while the inks didn't arrive in pretty cardboard boxes, they were sealed and obviously fresh. I loaded them all into the printer and it has now been several months since I installed them. All are working correctly and properly in my HP C309n Photosmart printer. They're also still showing up as being full even after 100 pages of prints or so. Working out pretty well so far! - Hp Photosmart C6380 - Ink Cartridge - Inkjet Printer Ink - Hp Photosmart'
