I have tried a number of iPhone holsters and this is the best one I have found yet. Here are some things I like about it;
1) The flap is held closed by a magnet, Velcro works too, but it gets dirty, this stays nice and clean and stays closed well.
2) This unit has three straps to hold this to your belt, two loops with a clip in between. I use all three at the same time as this holds the unit as close as possible to your belt. Holsters with a single clip tend to get the end of the holster caught on things as the ends stick out. If you are the maker of a holster of this style, make sure the loops are firmly attached and can withstand a lot of pull as the holster gets caught on things like the edge of a door or the seat of a car.
3) I had another brand of the same style, and the loops ripped off the back after only a few weeks. This one has lasted a good three months, and seems fine.
4) I can flip it open and pull out the iPhone with one hand, any holster not set up for that is not worth buying.
5) The holster protects my iPhone well, it is very sturdy.
6) The corners are open letting the earbud jack be exposed. This is great as you can crank up some tunes, or get on a call and re-holster the iPhone with the earbud cord coming out the edge. Hence I can holster my iPhone nice and safe and be on a call or listening to music.

I'm very disappointed in the merchant who is selling this product. The merchant was lazy not to update the photos of this product when the manufacturer changed the design and function of the hooking clasp and loop belt system on the back of this case. I ordered this product recently and when it arrived today, the back of the case did not match the posted photo. What I received was a case that had a center hooking clasp and a large round loop, (around the clasp) that was sewn at the bottom and had a button snap at the top. If I had known that the back was redesigned and what that new design looked like, I would never have purchased this case. This is my 3rd time buying this exact case, based on the posted pictures. I thought I was getting a new replacement not a different design. I would be a fool to send it back when the shipping is the same, if not more than the purchase price. I'm not about to double my cost and time to receive what I wanted in the first place or pay for the return shipping, only to be told that the prior design has been discontinued. :P
This iPhone 3G case is thickly padded to protect its valuables. Looks good and fastens by magnetic latch. Only the headphone jack doesn't quite clear the side panel. This isn't the right picture, no stamp in middle. Great deal.
After only 2 weeks of use the belt clip tore away from the case. Be aware also that the case is too large for the iPhone 3GS. The phone literally rattles around in the case. I cannot recommend this holster at any price.
Although the price was good, I was disappointed when this holster arrived. The picture clearly shows two belt loops and one clip, the actual product arrived with only one clip and no loops. I have had other holsters in which the clip breaks off rendering it useless, I was really looking for the belt loop feature so the holster would stay on securely especially when getting in and out of the car.
Not worth returning so I guess I'll just use it until it breaks....
I get two of these at a time. My steering wheel tears them up the way I get in and out of my truck. They last 6-8 months for me and I just throw it away and get another. Their are other holsters, but none this good for the price. I do not use a silicone sleeve, but I do not think it would fit in this holster.
I've been using a belt clip type leather case for my cel phones for years. The leather on the clip always wears out first, even when you spread the clip with your fingers (ouch) every time you slip it on your belt. After the second worn out case from AT&T, I thought I'd try something else. This one looked good in the photos. The magnetic catch is an improvement over the velcro closure on the one AT&T sells. Alas, the leather-look material over the belt clip is already starting to fray after a month or so of use. Does fit iPhone 3G well.
I have had this case for awhile and the leather on clip is off but I still use it, even tho it hurts when it is next to my skin ouch. Case good - clip needs work for comfortability. I work at ups so it has taken a beating from me.
